Also, haven't they reinstated Eat Sleep Mingle this season? At least a couple of times they've all been together at the pit stop -- the internet cafe and one other I'm blanking on. I always liked the more collegial atmosphere of the race that ESM seasons seemed to foster, although I suspect that this season TPTB are hoping that some of the blind daters will decide they prefer someone else's blind date and teen drama will ensue.

But I don't think Harley and Jonathan caught up with them to be at an Eat Sleep Mingle.

They would have seen Jonathan and Harley's picture on the Speed Bump and figured out that the previous leg was NEL and that Jonathan and Harley were likely behind them.

Of course, doh. They'd have known from the very first cluebox in Bangkok. But yes, they had no way of knowing whether they were racing for last place.

The joy of phobias. They don't have to make sense, and often don't. I used to laugh at people who were afraid of what I might consider "stupid" stuff, but I worked with a woman who had a phobia of buttons (yes, seriously), and I saw how much trouble they honest-to-god gave her. Does it make any sense? Nope. Doesn't make her reaction to them any less real. And while I was not a big Jenny fan this leg, I did feel for her in that cafe, because she was obviously doing everything in her power to keep it together, and I know that in a situation where I was surrounded by that many snakes, for example, I would handle it no better, and probably a good deal worse.

To be fair, cats can do a fair bit of damage. When my son was seven months old, my sister's cat jumped briefly on his forehead, and he had to have six stitches. I wsas shocked that a cat's claws can do that much damage, and I suppose a person that fears cats is more innately aware of their capacities. Thee typical cat is much more of a predator than a dog, and have been only partially domesticated in comparison. (They have never directly "worked" for humans as dogs have, as herders, guards etc. Instead, they're more of a colleague than an employee - pest control specialists that cohabit a space for mutual benefit). Their value as companions is much more recent.

J&H were only 3 hours behind.  If they all stayed at that hotel with the infinity pool and weren't segregated, they would have seen J&H for sure.

Wow, I respect your perspective, but she has assumed no decision making role at all.  She insists that he make all the decisions and sometimes insists they do it her way and then complains when it doesn't turn out or loudly and continualy disagrees with his decision, but does it anyway and then carps ad nauseum if it doesn't workout.

And when in a way to get himself off the never ending hook of defeat, tells her to take the lead, she resists and resists and he gives in and the VERY first thing he says to do - SHE DISAGREES AND GOES OFF HER OWN WAY - which would somehow in her eyes been his fault.

She is soul destroying

She is cute, perky, blond, apparently smart (ER nurse) and the single most annoying person on the season of the race.

I can't begin to tell you how much I agree with you about this.  I've watched a lot of TAR and really she is the most annoying person I've ever come across.  There have been people I have disliked more, and found despicable, but she just puts my back up and makes me want to stuff a rag in her mouth to make her be quiet.

Upon further review...I just wanted to add one more thought to the Haley/Blair discussion.

The thing is he is a full fledged MD whose specialty is SURGERY - this is really important.  Surgeons own the OR and everyone in the OR hops to whatever the task is when required/ordered.  Surgeons can be giant self absorbed, self important jerks.  They can also be innovative and caring.  They are people with pretty gigantic egos and they achieve success, big success or they would be out of the specialty.  Some of this does not apply to less life threatening surgical specialties, nor does it apply to all surgeons, but the generalization still applies.

SHE is a RN who works in an ER.  The character traits of surgeons are not unknown to her unless she is a clueless, naïve person - she could hardly be that and survive in an ER.

I worked in health care and saw the good and the bad of a wide variety of MDs and RNs, not to mention Med Techs!

While I grossly generalized the descriptions of surgeons, there is enough truth there to be applicable.  She knows surgeons and should have learned how to handle them!

She couldn't have presented a persona more designed to alienate him.
