kj4ever April 12, 2015 Share April 12, 2015 Escape from LA is on tv right now and there's supposed to be this creepy part where the surgeon general, played by Bruce Campbell, kidnaps Snake Plissken. Anyway, I remember when I watched it originally how grotesque and over the top his "addicted to plastic surgery" cult was supposed to be and now people walk around in LA looking the same, or worse, every day. Who knew this movie would be turn out to be so ahead of it's time and such a harbinger of doom? I haven't been around much in the past week or so (work, you know) but I want in on the Jericho watch! I've never seen it before but I think I can stream it on Netflix, right? Yep, Netflix has got it! I think I'm on Epi 4...I got a bit ahead of myself. It is such a damn good show that you can't stop...lol 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/1850-small-talk-ughngnggh-ugghhnnn/page/42/#findComment-1027522
Too Late Kev April 12, 2015 Share April 12, 2015 Checking out TitanTV for Monday, it looks like the following soap operas are still going on... CBS: The Young and the Restless; The Bold and the Beautiful. ABC: General Hospital. NBC: Days of Our Lives. Those are the ones in English. Long ago, I watched All My Children and then GH as well. My sister got into Passions. AMC and Passions are gone, though. I stopped watching soaps when there was an almost-rape scene on and my toddler twins were around -- I could hardly get to the TV fast enough to shut it off. Then there was a long weekend, and a few days that I couldn't watch it for various reasons, and I thought, "This is the time to go cold turkey, when I've already had a few days of it!" 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/1850-small-talk-ughngnggh-ugghhnnn/page/42/#findComment-1027567

Netflix makes good money on this show! You don't have to read all of these, but check out 4 or 5 of these customer reviews by people who had never seen Jericho and got it on Amazon. http://www.amazon.co.uk/product-reviews/B003N18O9W Don't forget you can watch 10 episodes for free online by going to Jericho CBS.com http://www.cbs.com/shows/jericho/ Don't bother with the try one week thing unless you want to. Just go to the 10 free and click on pilot season 1 episode 1 and start! NurseGiGi April 13, 2015 Share April 13, 2015 Ummmmm........I can't find the Jericho thread. (hangs head in shame) I went through a drive through last night and after paying for my order I heard these two guys talking while they made my sandwich. One guy was saying "Well, sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. You have to show her you mean business and just slap her across the mouth and be done with it. (the two guys giggle) Pow! Just punch her right in the kisser!". Then they realized the window was still open and closed it. I just sat there in shock. Firstly, I would make sure I had my food in hand before I said anything to the creeps at the drive thru. Then if I gave them a Julia Sugar-Baker scathing I would go to a different one after that. Whoever she may be, hopefully she kicks his ass and then to the curb. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/1850-small-talk-ughngnggh-ugghhnnn/page/42/#findComment-1029872

I'm going to call today to speak to the manager about it because there were only 2 guys in the store at 11pm and it shouldn't be too hard to figure out their names. Plus, I work at a decent sized hospital and they get a lot of delivery business there. I'm going to tell the manager that if something isn't done I'll spread the word around about their employees and their lack of action. And it's a chain, so I found their site and sent an email. I'm still so pissed off about it that my hands are shaking and I'm going to wait a couple hours before making my calls or I'll be too mad to make my point. 6 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/1850-small-talk-ughngnggh-ugghhnnn/page/42/#findComment-1029902

nachomama April 13, 2015 Share April 13, 2015 Another episode of blame me for everything that went wrong on Friday, a day I'm not there. I emailed a guy his job was ready on Thursday, he's a friend of my boss, boss man says "he'll come right away". Well he didn't and he showed up after they were closed on Friday. Our email spells out the hours of operation but it's somehow my fault his friend didn't know Friday hours. IT'S ON THE EMAIL. Mondays are such chaos, somehow everything that appears over the weekend in email I'm supposed to already have it handled, I can't check email from home because he changed the password so don't yell at me that somebody hasn't gotten an answer for 3-4 days. NurseGiGi April 13, 2015 Share April 13, 2015 Okay, an update on sandwichgate. Turns out it was easier to report than I thought it would be because I still had my receipt, which was time stamped and, you guessed it, had the guy's name right there at the top. I got an apology and was assured by the manager (who is a woman) that the matter would be dealt with. I have my doubts since the idiots can make up their own story but it makes me feel better, anyway. He sent it to the designer she snapped back at him that they aren't approved yet and they don't know how many, but he's clearly her superior because he sent back to her that he takes care of the quotes and quantities and we do have to "see" the artwork to actually quote it. nachomama April 13, 2015 Share April 13, 2015 Yay! cilantro free since '23! I had spinach and artichoke dip yesterday. and pulled pork. and new zealand butter! so yummy. I'm gonna go get both hawaiian rolls (so tasty with butter) and some really good bread. And is it true that the british put butter on all sammiches? Ham sammich = bread, butter, whatever mayo/mustard etc, ham, cheese...? My mom kinda used to do that, I just chalked it up to her liking butter, but is it a thing? I'm obsessed with coconut rice lately. And this is not just my own quirky picadillos*...pre-shredded cheese is evil. It doesn't melt good if it's pre shredded. And I've never liked a pre made guac. mostly freshness I think. cousin to the armadillos but not as tasty. :D 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/1850-small-talk-ughngnggh-ugghhnnn/page/42/#findComment-1031826

AngelaHunter April 14, 2015 Share April 14, 2015 I would just like it entered into the record that I did NOT start this naughty discussion. :D Points at kikismom and shouts: "It was her! It was her! She started it!" I hate to think what life has in store for poor little Aubrie when she grows up. For God's sake, mom, whatever you do, keep her away from cheerleading. I'd be hard pressed to add anything insightful here. Am I wrong for not being fond of marzipan either? Not in my book. 5 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/1850-small-talk-ughngnggh-ugghhnnn/page/42/#findComment-1034495
Nashville April 14, 2015 Share April 14, 2015 (edited) Points at kikismom and shouts: "It was her! It was her! She started it!" Now, let's be fair - kikismom may have brought the cake to the table, but we ALL went down on it like a nearsighted nymphomaniac in a Twinkie factory. kj4ever April 14, 2015 Share April 14, 2015 Fondant was (could still be I don't know) big in wedding cakes a while ago. Blech, I don't want your wedding cake if that's it. Am I wrong for not being fond of marzipan either? My sister owns a cafe, and all people care about is what their cakes look like. I mean she'll get someone ordering a cake that has to look like a Frozen character and they won't even tell her what kind of cake to make! She'll call them back and the standard answer is "I don't care." WTF call me old fashioned by I care more about what a cake tastes like then how it looks! 6 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/1850-small-talk-ughngnggh-ugghhnnn/page/42/#findComment-1035301
