AnimeMania May 5 Share May 5 Shinwell is an idiot, if he was sick, why didn't he go back into the hospital and fall dead at the front desk, maybe somebody might be able to save his life. Ingrid is an idiot, she should have removed a small sample from each plate and replated it, hiding it somewhere in the incubator before adding the sugar to the samples. I am not sure why they never label any of their samples. 2 1 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/153401-s01e12-my-lifes-work-part-1/#findComment-8653570
milkyaqua May 5 Share May 5 Agree, AnimeMania. It made no sense for Shinwell to go drive off when he knew he was sick unless he thought he was being noble by going off to die by himself. Too late for that with everything he's done even though it was under duress. Why Ingrid didn't at least put a small amount of the samples away before destroying them was also dumb. And her bargaining with Mary to keep her job? Ugh, girl bye! Granted, Moriarty seems to have spies/accomplices all over that hospital and of course nothing appears to be locked up/secured in addition to not being labeled which also begs the question, how did Moriarty know which samples to destroy? I hope the finale makes some sense but I'm not holding my breath. 3 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/153401-s01e12-my-lifes-work-part-1/#findComment-8653859
MarylandGirl May 5 Share May 5 Agreed on the annoying/dumb aspects with Shinwell and Ingrid. I did like the discussion between the twins in the isolation room. And between Stephens and Sasha. And oh hey, the actor who plays the twins grew up 15 minutes from where I grew up, with some overlapping time (I was looking up whether the same guy played both or not). The Moriarty arc is rather annoying and really stretched out. House had a great two-parter with one of the team members in peril from investigating a medical case that didn't involve some sort of outside villain. Though I guess then they wouldn't have had the Ingrid angle, but they could have found some way to make her involved in messing up the samples. Which twin do you want them to save? I vote Stephens. But I imagine they'll manage to save both. With a blood transfusion from the cured one or something. 5 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/153401-s01e12-my-lifes-work-part-1/#findComment-8654153
Trini May 6 Author Share May 6 I don't understand - is this supposed to be Ingrid's villain origin story?? The twins are going to die and she still didn't fess up. Sorry, I'm just NOT in love with this character as much as the writers are. I know this is fiction, but we're getting pretty close to sci-fi territory with DNA-specific poisonings, when I thought this show was trying to stick close to rare-but-real medical mysteries. BTW, is Non-Glasses Twin still in danger since his girlfriend still has that tainted lipstick? Glad Shinwell finally came clean, but then he had to go off to... die alone?? Dude - you're at a hospital; turn around and go back! I'm kinda rooting for Glasses Twin and Texas Dr., so I'm glad they had a moment. Moriarty: Well, I'll give them credit for fixing that webbed hand thing from the Pilot; because I thought that was DUMB. Second-to-last episode and only now we're getting some clarity about what Moriarty has been up to. ::sigh:: In any case, in a show where one wants the 'good guys' to solve the problem and win, Moriarty seems like a threat that they are not equipped to handle, so I'm not looking forward to this arc dragging out for a second season - 'cause you know it will. 1 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/153401-s01e12-my-lifes-work-part-1/#findComment-8654469
jah1986 May 6 Share May 6 This silly show. I still hate the Moriarty angle, and Randall Park is just not good in the role. Based on the twins' conversation, I'm guessing Stephens survives with the guilt that nobody wants to be around him, except Sasha. Will he then take on more aspects of Adam's personality to make up for the loss, since they used to swap places? I just can't stand Ingrid. She doesn't have the guts Shinwell does. There's no reason for her to work with Moriarty. Especially since the body isn't there anymore. That doesn't work as blackmail, he's just going to what, go to the police and say I found this body and it's Ingrid's dad and she killed him, what proof? She's an idiot. 2 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/153401-s01e12-my-lifes-work-part-1/#findComment-8654593
AnimeMania May 6 Share May 6 I am not sure, but I thought I saw Ingrid put one of the petri dishes in her pocket when she was talking to Lubbock. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/153401-s01e12-my-lifes-work-part-1/#findComment-8654624

Oh no -- I was assuming that they'd somehow save both, but now you got me thinking offing one is a possibility. They're played by one actor, so I can see them removing one twin to save money/simplify production. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/153401-s01e12-my-lifes-work-part-1/#findComment-8655052

Trini May 12 Author Share May 12 So weird -- in different places this finale two-parter is titled "Your Life's Work" OR, "My Life's Work". I had the first, but had the mods change it to the second to match the Part 2 topic; but I think version #2 sounds a little better anyway.
