LaurelleJ April 17 Share April 17 (edited) Glad to have made it to the finale once again unspoiled. Watching live and typing my reaction in real time. I have to admit, the note about "an unprecedented twist on a controversial decision" is making me nervous. Still rooting for Da'vonne and Shane, but would also be happy with Adam and Steve. Anyone but Frank and Sam. I hate eating challenges so much. Even TJ looked uncomfortable. So glad Steve and Adam took it, come on other teams, keep Frank and Sam down! Better nights sleep than I was expecting, lucky for the older challengers. The edit of TJ watching them rowing with the song eye of the tiger made me chuckle. They are in the editing booth just clowning. I am not interested in a Sam and Frank comeback. Maybe Sam talking about the knee is foreshadowing. Ok so it was foreshadowing. It's definitely going to cause them this checkpoint. I hate that for Sam but Frank is just the worst. So happy Shane and Da'vonne won. Hmm now I'm thinking that maybe there will be a tie in the total number of stars?? For the first time Frank lost his temper? Really the first time??? ok.... So now the race is between Adam and Steve and Shane and Da'vonne. I would be fine with either winning but am rooting for Shane and Da'vonne at the time being. Happy for Adam and Steve, proper winners for an all stars season. Good for Shane and Da'vonne as well. I like it when the rival pairs end better than rivals, even if they aren't friends. Stealing the money is back on the table. This reminds me of that old game show, friend or foe. I think they will both split the money.Oh boy, I thought for a second we were going to have a playoff to split the money. Hmm, that would have been good actually. Maybe next rivals, they have the winners do the final challenge anyway, and then the winner of the challenge alone decides whether to split or steal. So I guess the twist on the controversial decision was having them do it blind and then if they didn't match, having the final challenge for the winner to take all. Glad to make it through another season unspoiled. Still not really sure why this couldn't air on Paramount+, maybe because Steve and Adam won? Petition to get Allstars back on paramount+. I know Mark wants that. Also, did Avery say yes? Edited April 17 by LaurelleJ 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152967-s05e12-an-un-rivaled-twist/#findComment-8637407
bunnyface April 17 Share April 17 Frank lost. All is right in the world. Glad for the winners. But most importantly, Frank didn't win. I don't care if he has a doctorate in PT. He has a double degree in jackassery and assholology. I really hope Sam wasn't really injured but I sure wouldn't trust his assessment of that. Oh yeah, BTW, FRANK LOST. HAHAHAHA 4 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152967-s05e12-an-un-rivaled-twist/#findComment-8637703
AntFTW April 17 Author Share April 17 Did Steve and Adam break the elimination win record this season? 🤔 I’m not mad at Steve and Adam winning. They probably had the hardest road of any pair this season. I think this is Steve’s first win. it really looked like Shane and Da’Vonne were going to pull it out. They were sooooooo close. Frank hasn’t changed a fucking bit. This time he didn’t get physical with Sam, but verbally, he treated her the same way he did 13 years ago in their first final together. 2 hours ago, LaurelleJ said: Glad to make it through another season unspoiled. Yes, All Stars should remain on P+, where I don’t have to wait to watch it. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152967-s05e12-an-un-rivaled-twist/#findComment-8637841
aghst April 17 Share April 17 Adam said he and Steve discussed splitting the money. Looks like other challengers also suspected that “twist” since these are teams of rivals. Wonder what kind of contest they’d have had for winner take all. So one eating challenge followed by 3 physical challenges. Obviously favored the fittest and strongest team. Not even a puzzle right? They cast overweight people or those having physical disadvantages because that becomes part of the social game or drama. But if the Finals are endurance, speed and strength-oriented, all the drama is proven right. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152967-s05e12-an-un-rivaled-twist/#findComment-8637894
Lantern7 April 17 Share April 17 Good finale. I should have watched this and DVRed Survivor. Maybe it's because Steve got redemption from last season. Nah . . . it's mostly because the finale wasn't decided by bullshit like "karma votes." Steve & Adam win. The bad news is that Adam got a six-figure payday AND he proposed to Averey. I feel like BMP thinks he's the story. Maybe not a returning player to either of the franchise's show, but that he was the guy worth rooting for. In my mind, he's an asshole. He was an asshole on RR: The Quest. He was an asshole helping to throw Sarah into the Gauntlet five times. He's an asshole now. Without a Reunion, I'm thinking the post-season spin will be that he was man enough to finally forgive Steve for screwing him over last season. Of course, Adam crossing Steve to start will conveniently be forgotten, because Adam is the star. Oh, and he and Steve not only tied Sarah's elimination record, but they managed to win the season . . . not to mention get a bigger payday than Sarah did at the end of Gauntlet. A payday Adam also got, I hasten to add. It makes me . . . well, current events prevent me from saying "ill" or "sick." It just feels wrong. I'm really hoping this is it for Steve. I want him to see that BMP will not give him the love like most of the other finalists. We never saw him talking to loved ones from home. We never found out what he would do with the money. He was just Adam's partner . . . the guy that screwed his one-time castmate. The hand model thing made him interesting through two prior seasons, but I feel that as far as people from RR10 go, BMP would rather get Jisela back. That's a shame, really. Steve's nice and normal. His best stuff on RR10 was mostly commentary with Blair on MTV.com, and the interview he gave regarding finding out his blind date's last boyfriend had died. I'm happy he won, but I really hope this is the last we see from him. In other news, most of the other players were jackasses. Sam could have collapsed onto Frank and I would have cheered her on. Shane remained a pissy little bitch to the end, and I'm happy he's the one guy from Campus Crawl that has tried so many times to win, yet always fall short. Nicole and Melissa? Messy women. It's obvious Nicole won't be babysitting little Vienna anytime soon, and that's probably for the best. And the puking. Why? Once again, I wonder if the show is financed in part by a vomit fetish community. Covers for classic songs also sucked. I know "The Final Countdown" was used a few years ago. If you want to play it again, just play it again. "Eye of the Tiger" also failed, and the graphic with the tiger head over TJ's face? Ugh. Anyone know how long until we get new BMP content? Pity there's no Reunion. Given the stripped-down format of this season, we could've just gotten the one hour. That's something else I forgot to mention yesterday, the music. I remember thinking that previous episodes/seasons of Allstars had great music choices. Not sure why all of a sudden they used covers. Wasn't a fan of that. Also, Averey said yes. Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152967-s05e12-an-un-rivaled-twist/#findComment-8638064
bunnyface April 17 Share April 17 I really am interested in knowing about Sam's injury. In this interview, Steve says it was a significant injury. But asshat Frank was saying she was fine. As I said above, I wouldn't trust an assessment from him. Probably not ever, but certainly not in that circumstance. (If he ever came into my medical appointment to do an assessment, I would run (hobble) away screaming. I don't like the man.) "Sam had a significant knee injury, and I gave her one of my heavy duty knee braces, but also in doing so, my knee was compensating and getting hurt with that. You didn't do shit!" "orthopedic evaluation" 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152967-s05e12-an-un-rivaled-twist/#findComment-8638119
RedbirdNelly April 18 Share April 18 I didn't watch the seasons these people were originally on so I don't have strong opinions about any of them. I was kind of rooting for Steve and Adam since they got targeted so much at the beginning so seemed fair for them to win over people who flew under the radar and didn't have to fight hardly at all. I don't have Adam backstory--and he seems a bit extra plus the comments of others suggests jerk--but the very end/proposal bit to Avery was kind of sweet. Hope they are happy. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152967-s05e12-an-un-rivaled-twist/#findComment-8638933
mojoween April 18 Share April 18 RIGHT?!? Like did you wheel an x-ray machine and MRI into the jungle you jackass? And Sam actually gave him grace in her (? sorry I don’t know if she is fully transitioning or not) interview, which he deserved not in the slightest. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152967-s05e12-an-un-rivaled-twist/#findComment-8638935

ETA: I was in a hurry before. She said something about feeling more like herself. So I'm assuming, and it's only an assumption, that she's having her breasts removed.
