DanaK March 26 Share March 26 Quote 03/26/2025 (09:00PM - 10:00PM) (Wednesday) : In the face of adversity, Pascal searches for justice. Violet struggles to write a letter to Carver. Damon returns to the floater pool hoping to secure a permanent spot at 51. Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152622-s13e16-in-the-rubble/
FnkyChkn34 March 27 Share March 27 Really? Damon is back? Ugh. I thought this episode was actually very good. I teared up when they all walked into the funeral, even if the whole "we're family" thing gets a bit cheesy at times. It was well done, and Violet's narration reminded me of the good early seasons of Grey's Anatomy. And Dermot Mulroney plays crazy grief-stricken widower well. But... Pascal just somehow already knew that Damon is Sev's brother? I would have liked to have watched the scene where he learned that, given the trouble he's already given Sev and Stella about being married... I think this show has poor editors sometimes. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152622-s13e16-in-the-rubble/#findComment-8618174
CoyoteBlue March 27 Share March 27 Well, Pascal quickly became a full-fledged member of 51 by rabidly insisting he's right and not listening to anyone saying differently, expecting the DA to break the rules because he says so. It was nice to hear the lieutenants have that conversation post-Pascal's-scene-meltdown about what to do if he's really losing it. Kidd, Pascal sounds like a fucking nutjob. He totally seems one step away from lurking outside that guy's house until Pascal snaps and kills Franklin when he takes his trash out. You're a little too optimistic. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152622-s13e16-in-the-rubble/#findComment-8618373

I guess they don't know that he's already punched a guy just because he... actually, I don't even remember what he did, but it didn't seem that bad. So yes, Pascal would definitely seek revenge on the guy who killed his wife, I agree. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152622-s13e16-in-the-rubble/#findComment-8618455

If Hermann(?) is up for chief, Pascal taking a medical sabbatical or something like that is probably how Hermann gets the job, if the writers are going that way. It doesn't seem like Pascal is anything but a temporary fill in Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152622-s13e16-in-the-rubble/#findComment-8618522

Dowel Jones March 27 Share March 27 2 hours ago, preeya said: Please, NO! What's the problem? Hermann has been a Captain for at least three episodes. Plenty of time to know the Battalion Chief's job inside and out. Also, plenty of story lines for bartending at Molly's. I had to laugh a bit at the scene reconstruction out there at the accident site, mostly because all those commuters on the El in the background were probably saying, "Hey, look, they're filming Chicago Fire right there! Look at me!" 5 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152622-s13e16-in-the-rubble/#findComment-8618626
tinderbox March 28 Share March 28 I enjoyed the episode. Rewatched the ending “family” funeral parlor scene more than once. I’m a sap, in general, but I thought the scene was well done. I like Pascale but he clearly needs help and will be missing from a few episodes because of it. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152622-s13e16-in-the-rubble/#findComment-8619363

I got the impression that Lieutenant Stephen Vale, who he punched out in episode 2, had a past with Monica, when she was in Chicago and Dom was in Miami, and he thought Vale was trying to take advantage of their shaky marriage. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152622-s13e16-in-the-rubble/#findComment-8620116

I'm pretty sure he knew that was Severide's brother back when Damon worked there the first time. I seem to recall his having an objection to it and telling Severide so. I have to say, Dermot Mulroney acted his ass off this episode. I'm almost sorry for him wasting his talent on a show nobody is really paying attention to anymore. It's not like he's going to get an Emmy nod for this. I hope he's happy with the paycheck. I thought the narration was kind of strange. It might have worked better if they'd ever done it before, but 13 seasons in it just felt so random. I guess I may have missed it, but if he knew, he never said it, because he only gave Severide a hard time about being married to Stella, that I recall. He said that they were only "getting away with it" because she didn't take his last name. He never mentioned brothers with different last names too.
