I'm sick of this concept that being a virgin is some kind of "sin" and sex must be had with somebody, anybody to cure this horrible "disease" as soon as possible.

Isn't it mostly just Flower who hopes to see Sass's virginity end?
Somewhere in a recent thread someone mentioned that Flower was given food in exchange for having sex with the commune's cult ruler.
I hope all of this recent talk from Flower that being a virgin is a bad thing will come to an end when she realizes the cult leader was a just a selfish, controlling d!ck.
Although "free love" was a thing in the pre-AIDs 60s & 70s, celibacy was also a not uncommon choice too.
I can even imagine Flower breaking up with Thor for a time while she sorts things out.

I wasn't impressed with this two-parter (even though I liked Joan). I guess this was their attempt at a screwball comedy storyline. Oh well.

On the bright side, this might be the end of the super lame "haha, Sass is a virgin" and "omg poor Sass is still a virgin" jokes. A girl can dream.

I did like the B story, where Flower outsmarted and out-capitalismed Trevor and Hetty. And for once, they didn't end it with Flower forgetting everything!

ETA: The virgin shaming is basically the same as slut shaming, just the opposite. Effing leave ppl alone!

Did we think Sass and Joan were meant to be?

Hell to the no!

No, as they've managed to find a couple with even less romantic/sexual chemistry than Thor and Flower, a feat I did not find achievable.

I actually like Thor and Flower but cannot stand Sass and Joan as a couple.  I don't hate it enough to stop watching, but I might just record episodes through the end of the season to see how it plays out before watching them.

In the end, why is Joan the right one for him versus Shiki?

I'd say she's not right for Sass in any way.

It was the Valley Girl speak or vocal fry of that time.  I actually like it, I think it cements her sassy personality.

To me, it sounds like a bad parody of His Girl Friday.  Like the secretary sketch on SNL over the last few years.  It's grating as hell.

Why?  She is from the 60's.  Who in the counter culture didn't say it then.

Yeah, it actually fits with her backstory.

If one of them says something about it, then they all chime in.  It's become a group thing.

Typical clique behavior.

I can imagine Sam speaking up about it being a form of bullying or disrespect of Sass’s autonomy in making choices.
But I can also imagine Sam piling on.
Maybe Sass and Jay can have a heart-to-heart bro talk in a dream, with Jay giving Sass some pointers about relationships, including both romantic and platonic, and the freedom to choose.
That seems like a theme that would fit with the show.

I loved the Latvian ghost trap repairman

Amusing as Janis was, how is it even possible there was a repairman for a Latvian ghost trap within driving distance?!? When Freddie first brought the trap he had ordered it from Latvia. And when they were trying to figure out how to release the ghosts, Freddie had to call Latvia. So the help line Sam mentioned was someone in Latvia. Who, presumably, speaks Latvian.

Did they luck out and find someone at the help line who speaks English and knew of a local Latvian repairman? I mean, c'mon. I get that this is just a silly sitcom, but there was an awful lot about this episode that felt very sloppy.

Pleased with the outcome  with Sas And Joan getting together But I'm not holding my breath ...the show will not deviate from the status quo...just ask Nigel.I am sure Joan will get sent packing soon.

Eh, hey, Nigels still around - just because we don't see him every episode doesn't mean he's not still hanging around the property. So even if Joan were to leave for some reason or another, she could always come back. This show does like to bring back characters when possible, after all.

I agree.  I know the common response to that is "Hey, it's just a sitcom," but even in a sitcom things should make sense within the bounds of whatever universe the writers have created.  Imagine if Sam hadn't had a concussion but could see and hear ghosts without any explanation of why she could but Jay couldn't--that just wouldn't work.  Sometimes there needs to be relative logic at least.

Exactly.  When I don't see a recurring character in an episode I still imagine they're around somewhere but just don't happen to be in the room (or the mansion) at that particular time.  Nigel still wanders over from the shed and Nancy still comes upstairs but the viewers aren't always "present" when that happens.  It'll be very plausible for Chris, Joan, etc. to show up every now and then (though I do think Crash should be seen a little more often than he has been so far, poor guy).

I still really like this show, but I am getting tired of Sam not being around in scenes where she should be around, and could easily be around, but isn't just to drive the plot forward. Like if the trap plan has worked like they originally wanted to, how would Sass and Shiki's meeting go with just Jay there. How would he have known id they had met or when it was over? It was the same issue with the episode where Jay took Pete to the Costco.

Instead of taking Sas to Shiki, they should bring Shiki to Sas.

But that would mean asking her to take the risk, which wouldn't make sense. She hasn't been pining for Sas for centuries.

Yes, it would be getting sucked off, but at the time of your choosing.  When you're ready to go.  I'm going to insert a comment about The Good Place, in a spoiler tag, just in case someone hasn't seen the ending:

I thought of the exact same thing.
