S03.E09: Too Late to Turn Back Now

I thought one of the rules of time travel was that you couldn't go back to a time earlier than you'd already been. Like Alice traveled to July 1999, then August 1999, so she couldn't go back to July 1999 again? I guess they don't really know the rules. It makes me think they are wrong about not being able to travel to the future.

Also, how does Alice know Colton only traveled twice? He had only traveled twice the day he told her about time travel, but how does Alice know he never did it again in the next 30 years?

I can't believe it is only one more episode this season.

Very good points! I wondered the same thing about Alice knowing how many times Colton traveled.

All in all, I loved this episode. It felt like things actually happened and not just more spaghetti tossed at the wall, so to speak.

I LOVE how Elliott showed up in 1816 (1814?) to help out. They finally made a man out of him! I’m one of the few people who want Kat and Elliott to be end game. ❤️

Very interesting how they had Cyrus Goodwin get incapacitated and that he he agreed to let Susannah “speak” for him.

I loved seeing Elliott’s reactions to meeting Elijah Landry and Susannah Augustine. So she is a relative of his, I can’t figure out how many “great-greats” she’d go back. LOL Probably an aunt because she has the same last name?

And good for Del for showing up just in time to stop Jacob from starting that fire. It was good to hear her exert her voice/thoughts/power. But those darn security cameras were running.

Can’t wait for next week!

RE: those rules. So Colton couldn't travel again because he broke the rules because he said "plant potatoes" but Kat can still travel freely even with all the trouble she's caused?

I figured he just assumed that was the case since his grandmother told him that and he had trouble the next time or two. But we know with Kat and Alice that the pond won't always take them, so Colton might not have realized that it was temporary.

She doesn't. She was looking for answers from Del and Colton's youth/their courtship time because Del asked her to find out. Del was reacting to finding out from Jacob that he saw young Colton - her boyfriend/fiance - twice in the 1800s yet Colton never said a word to her that he could actually time travel.  Colton was more likely to be honest with his "friend" Alice than with his daughter Kat's friend Alice in 1999. Although I won't be surprised now if 1999 Colton at least suspected that Alice is a time traveler related to his family.

Did they ever show Evelyn Goodwin in the show before 1974?  I know in the present she is dead now, but she wasn't in 1999 and I don't think she was in present time when the show started.  But did they ever show her?

As for the "rules"  they seem to be making them up as they go.  Alice told Elliot her future and it didn't seem to hinder her travel, so it probably didn't hinder Colton's either.  And we know he traveled again before he died because we saw him.  And he knew who Kat was, so there was still more going on.
