KWalkerInc February 24 Share February 24 That couple that thought they were legally adopting Maya's baby sure gave a lot of information to Robyn and Mel just because they said they were her friends! They weren't even thrown by the initial insinuations they seemed to be making about the man. I guess that was to show the audience that they had nothing to hide. But Regina, the evil nurse, also gave them a lot of info that she didn't need to give (about Maya's condition, etc.). I suppose that was to throw them off her trail (and make the audience think she was nice). It was weird though. I didn't think Dee was being really out of line with the neighbor, especially if he was apparently coming around being rude to them all the time. (If the first visit had been about loud music, maybe he could have been justified, but "I don't like the smell of your food"?) The conclusion of her following Vi's advice and him turning totally around just because Dee was nice reminded me of a really sappy commercial or something. When she was worrying about what next year will be like for her, I said she shouldn't worry because the show will probably be cancelled anyway. I hope the ratings are better than they were last week when they had the major draw of the SNL special as competition. James constantly whining about Dante and how mean he is to their dad, didn't contact James promptly, etc. was annoying. I like how Dante pointed out he could have been the one to reach out earlier because he at least knew of his existence. Yes, Dante is bitter but James just met him and is all "I'm better than you because I'm FORGIVING." Now that Dante has extended an olive branch, I hope they won't devote too much time to this. 7 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152039-s05e09-stolen-angel/#findComment-8589568
marceline February 24 Share February 24 This show is always better when it focuses on Robyn helping people and leaves the spy stuff in the background. No talk about the CIA or terrorist sleeper cells. Just rescuing someone who needs help. I think Dee handled business just fine at the beginning. I'd love to see a floor plan of Robyn's house. 7 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152039-s05e09-stolen-angel/#findComment-8589719
blackwing February 24 Share February 24 I enjoyed the storyline of Robyn and Mel trying to find the missing woman. I thought it was well done and it was nice that they touched on the issues that would be faced going forward of locating the babies and the difficulty in taking them away from people who thought they had legally adopted them. Dante and his dad, Dante and his brother.... nope, I still don't care. 18 hours ago, Brown44 said: I'm with Dee you ain't coming to my house talking crazy and not expect to be talked crazy back. Count me in as well. Why was what Dee said to the neighbor so out of line according to Aunt Vi? The guy came over and was immediately nasty. Since when are people not allowed to cook? They don't live in an apartment complex. They are in a single family home neighborhood. If the guy doesn't like the smells, then he can be the one to close his window. And complaining about their music was ridiculous, their music was in no way violating any noise ordinance. But I guess we needed a teaching moment where Dee learns to see things from other people's perspective. I don't fully understand why because of this interaction with the guy that Robyn described as mean warranted Vi saying to Robyn that Dee was going to have "growing pains". 5 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152039-s05e09-stolen-angel/#findComment-8590019
possibilities February 25 Share February 25 That was a gorgeous apartment where that "low income" case of the week was living. I thought Dee was wrong about the car last week, and I didn't really accept the explanation that she was acting out because of her anxiety about next year. I also thought she was being a brat about being grounded and whining about not being able to go to her bf's event. But I didn't have a problem with how she was with the neighbor, and I thought Vi was really taking a reckless chance by inviting him inside. I like the idea that all it takes to make friends and turn someone from rude to helpful is one nice gesture, but I don't think it's realistic at all! And I also don't think that rewarding people for being shitty is a good policy, either. But I do love Vi, so maybe it's just Vi Magic. 5 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152039-s05e09-stolen-angel/#findComment-8590385
Trini February 25 Author Share February 25 The fashion theme this episode was: funky sweaters! I liked Robyn and Dee's; and Harry's was just funny. The neighbor was being out of line, but otherwise, I didn't have much problems with the 3 plots. Good casting for Dante's brother. Speaking of family; I think we've seen family members of everyone except Harry? I know he was pretending to be dead for a while, but does he have any relatives? 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152039-s05e09-stolen-angel/#findComment-8590387
andromeda331 Friday at 05:10 AM Share Friday at 05:10 AM I liked the case. A missing pregnant woman with complications. I figured the doctor was selling babies not that the nurse was not only part of it but it was her idea. She grew up with a drug addict mother. I also didn't think they were telling the mothers' their babies died. I figured they convinced/forced them to give up the baby. I feel bad for all involved. I'm not sure I get Dee's storyline. She has been acting badly lately. Letting her boyfriend borrow her mom's car and got in an accident and then mad about being grounded. Really Dee? It's unusual behavoir for Dee but it's all because of college and things changing? I don't really see the change. I had a feeling when the neighbor mentioned his grandsons no longer living with him that he was a lonely crabby man. But that doesn't excuse him for being a jerk about their smell of food and being offensive. Also if Aunt Vi knew why he was being a jerk. Why didn't she reach out to him? Why did she make Dee do it? From what Dee said he'd been a jerk for awhile now. She could have reached out to him. I really don't care about Dante or his brother. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152039-s05e09-stolen-angel/#findComment-8593522
