I remember it because I hated it! But couldn't avoid it. That's hilarious - The Banana Pudding/Nilla Wafer "trifle" is a staple at our family Christmas to this day - my Step grandmother made it until she passed, and then my husband took over "making it" because it's his favorite dessert. It drives me bananas (see what I did there?) because he needs a pound of whipped cream to make it and he acts like using the kitchen aide mixer is too complicated for him (he is a college graduate, eye roll) so I have to make the whipped cream for him.... He is basically making instant pudding and slicing bananas and assembling but everyone acts like he made a masterpiece even though making the whipped cream is the most complicated part of the dessert! 😜 As my screen name says, I love pie, but I have never had Banoffee pie. Not sure about that one - it sounds mushy texturally and I wouldn't enjoy that despite liking caramel and bananas..... I absolutely love Dylan. He is so serious, but his offer of help was sweet, and I loved the outfit. I feel like Dylan and Georgie are neck in neck - it could go either way depending on what the final show stopper is....I guess the bigger suspense is who is joining them in the top three? 4 3 3 Link to comment

I looked it up. https://www.eyeadorethreading.com/master-the-eyebrow-slit-a-step-by-step-guide-to-edgy-brows/ My 26 year old son, an executive Chef, has been doing that for 4 years now. He also has a piercing in his brow next to it, earrings, and numerous tattoos. It seems to be an “artist” thing. In fact as much as I like Georgie, I will be rooting for Dylan since he reminds me so much of my son in that when it comes to food, he is serious and a perfectionist. Count me in on liking banana flavor, but hating actual bananas. It’s the texture ick! 2 1 1 Link to comment

Orcinus orca November 19 Share November 19 And now, after the commercial break for Chaquita, back to our regular scheduled programming. I really did not care for this theme week at all. I hope they do not repeat it and chalk it up to an idea that flopped. 6 Link to comment

I didn't mind it too much as it could have been so much worse, Japanese/Mexican week anyone? and kept thinking of Brendan from season 3 (British season 3) when so many of his bakes were described as '70s' by Paul. I love Brendan. 5 2 Link to comment

Kindly head on over there to continue the discussion. Thank you and enjoy the remaining episodes! 3 4 Link to comment
ombre 6 hours ago Share 6 hours ago (edited) Many years ago, I used to watch this show over lunch - three days per episode - and then be sad that it was over and... Watch the same ep again over lunch for the next few days until the new episode finally aired. And then I gradually realized I no longer enjoyed it enough to do that. But this year (and last year, tbf) I'm back to watching each ep multiple times. It's really back on its feet. Alison is a treasure and I love Noel with her. Prue and Paul are back to being *constructive* in their criticism. (I'd like to think the gradual shift to heartlesssness was only in the editing room, but who knows?) And the show has finally remembered something it did so well in early seasons, namely showing the *slow* moments: the camaraderie between the bakers, the anxiety of waiting for a bake to finish, etc. Why comment on *this* episode as my first comment of the year? Man, I just *hope* that whenever I next find myself in a slow-motion, inevitable train wreck that I can hold my head high and just put one foot in front of the other with the absolute poise that Illiyin did in this week. I've been plenty grateful to this show and the people who put themselves out there in past years, but I suspect I will be holding her in my heart for decades to come. Utter queen. Extraordinary.
