paulvdb November 15 Share November 15 Quote The search for clues about Mr. Miyagi's past leads Daniel into danger. Miguel raises doubts about Robby's focus. Sam observes ugly behavior off the mat. Premiere date: November 15, 2024 Link to comment
Raja November 15 Share November 15 (edited) When that Cobra Kai tattoo came up I was suspecting a test from the old guy who knew Mr. Miyagi. To be someone else from Captain Kreese seemed wrong. The two lead dojos focusing way too much on each other. So Kreese got a pardon on the escape since the underlying cause for his detainment was bunk. From the preseason leaks I wasn't expecting Miguel to be the one to go. And now after a few hours I get another YouTube thumbnail/video name spoiler 5 hours after the season drops. I hate those guys. jah1986 November 15 Share November 15 (edited) Well, I did not expect Miguel to handle business like he did, way to go! I was really surprised those guys that kidnapped Daniel worked for Kreese, I wonder if there are officials at the tournament in his pocket too. So glad Lee came clean about what she did to Kenny. Please let Carmen's baby be okay. Edited November 15 by jah1986 name change Link to comment
DoctorAtomic November 16 Share November 16 I think all the losses here were a bit much. Miyagi Do did fight fairly well in the protect the captain round. The Iron Dragon caption looks like you'd call him Jenkins at work who is nice enough to make coffee before the meeting. Terrible choice to only have Amanda occasionally on the phone and not there to even it all out. I don't like that they're making out Johnny to be *totally* wrong. Yes, they needed points, so you do need to strategize. Also, you're on raised platforms. You do need balance. I'm not someone who performs better getting yelled at though either. Harder than you think. I just think there could have a little more nuance. I'm not buying the actor playing Zara. She's over doing it. I don't think I would have led with both the captains on the platform to start. to be fair, Dmitri fought well and just screwed up knocking Hawk off too. I wanted Robby to hand off to Miguel. I'm coming back in to call bs on Dmitri with MIT. Yes, he's going to put 'everything behind him'. More motivation for him to go out with a huge bang. He's going to MIT; he's never going to be doing karate tournaments again. Go big. You'll have tons of stories to tell them all at MIT. 1 Link to comment
Dobian November 20 Share November 20 Kreese is fun and all, but at some point you have to ask, what's wrong with this guy? I can see this behavior from the thirty-something Kreese in the movies, but a man in his 70s you would think would have grown up a little and not be trying to get his stupid revenge on Daniel and Johnny anymore. Shit talk all you want, but just train your kids and leave it at that. Sheesh. 4 1 Link to comment

I guess that while Mr. Miyagi got over the actions that saw him awarded the Medal of Honor, those recipients also commit suicide after their combat actions, they have given us Kreese and Silver not entirely recovering from being POWs in Vietnam Link to comment

They handwaved Silver in the 80s as just doing a lot of coke. Link to comment
tennisgurl November 21 Share November 21 I still cant believe that Kreese is still allowed to just wonder around after everything, no way do I buy that all of the charges were dropped. Even if they were, breaking out of prison is still totally a crime, he would go back to jail for that alone. Things have certainly escalated! Again! I'm very worried now about Carmen and her baby. I think they'll be ok, but still. 1 Link to comment
Danny Franks December 10 Share December 10 (edited) "It's Barcelona, dipshit." Heh, Johnny being reliably ignorant is always fun. But they do speak Spanish in Barcelona, as well as Catalan. Why is the most prestigious karate tournament in the world full of silly gimmick events that look like they'd be at home in Gladiators? Knock your opponent off a bench? Knock your opponent off a platform? It's so silly. And the scripting and choreography of the second event was absolute dogshit tier. None of it made sense, other than as a vehicle for Miguel to be super cool and badass. Someone on Reddit said that Martin Kove now needs a stunt double just to walk, and that might be harsh but it's not far from the truth. He looks really aged and limited in these episodes. William Zabka's acting in the locker room talk was really good. You could feel his frustration and his internalised regrets. Shame no one listened. He was really good in this whole episode, and had to be, because the writing of much of it was really poor and focused on forced conflicts between the kids. How many times has Robby just stopped fighting to stare at someone? I think he needs to be checked for brain trauma. What did I say about Daniel? That he'd lose interest in his kids and this tournament as soon as he had a Mr. Miyagi thing to do? Had to laugh at the idea that "tourists never come" to the cathedral in the middle of the Gothic Quarter, just streets away from Las Rambla. It's only one of the most popular tourist spots in the entire city. Also, did Daniel lock a man into a room to be mauled to death by dogs? Edited December 11 by Danny Franks 2 Link to comment

I actually like the events because they're beyond just two people fight, first to three points wins. The tag in was my favorite. Link to comment
