AnimeMania October 2, 2024 Share October 2, 2024 (Season Finale) The crew arrives somewhere that seems too good to be true, and it just might be. Premiere Date: Wednesday, October 2, 2024 SyFy 10pm Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/149778-s02e12-fortunate/
ottoDbusdriver October 3, 2024 Share October 3, 2024 Huzzah !! Maddox is finally gone. She did enslave the remnants of the human race from 4 Arks, and nearly made it 5 Arks plus she resorted to child kidnapping so she kind of deserved what she got. And Kelly finally gets her redemption. There might be aliens on Trappist 1D -- after Angus finds a buried marker with an alien language. Garnet and the newly refurbished Ark 1 are going out to cruise the universe looking for more Arks -- only to get a message from Ross 128B to turn around and go home. Not bad as the Season 2 finale. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/149778-s02e12-fortunate/#findComment-8471238
tv echo October 3, 2024 Share October 3, 2024 (edited) Enjoyed this episode. The nanite kill switch was a little too easy of a solution to fix the colony-wide problem quickly, but with only one episode left this season, I guess they didn't have a choice. Loved the reunion between Strickland and his daughter at the end. Liked how they wrapped up this season's big storyline with Maddox, but then planted seeds for next season (if there is a next season). I hope this show is renewed. It would be interesting to see how they play out the two mysteries, one involving Ark 1/Ross-128, and the other involving Trappist. At first, I thought they were getting rid of cast members, but now it looks like they're just splitting them up. Expand It actually looked like the left and right side had two different alien languages. Possibly some sort of Rosetta's Stone although obviously less useful if you don't know at least one of the languages on it. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/149778-s02e12-fortunate/#findComment-8471404
NeenerNeener October 3, 2024 Share October 3, 2024 Hey, Sharon mentioned that they have other clones on board Ark1, so she must not have shoved the mutineers from a few episodes back out the airlock. Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/149778-s02e12-fortunate/#findComment-8471470
KeithJ October 5, 2024 Share October 5, 2024 Glad to see Maddox finally gone for good. The outdoor scenes on Trappist were so bad they were distracting. They must have used up the EFX budget elsewhere. i couldn’t help but laugh when the kill switch worked on everyone. All their heads just dropped down for a reset? Hopefully we’ll get a season 3 but I really don’t want a season split between Ark 1 and Trappist. Thats just going to seem very rushed. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/149778-s02e12-fortunate/#findComment-8473160
KaveDweller October 6, 2024 Share October 6, 2024 Does anyone remember how long the people on Ark 1 were asleep before the show started? I thought it was only a couple of years but if the people on Trappist have been building a colony for 22 months it must have been longer. Of course they need a reason to have at least some people stay on the Ark, but it is kind of odd that the Trappist people had the technology to talk to the other planet without any travel and no one bothered to send a message. I was worried they were writing a bunch of people off, but the last scene with Agnus suggests they will be showing stuff on the planet too. I don't know how that will work, but I'm glad half the cast isn't going away. I thought this was kind of a good finale, the actors seemed to be having fun with the brainwashing scenes. It made no sense how the cured everyone, but that is okay. Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/149778-s02e12-fortunate/#findComment-8474197

Expand I may have been mishearing it, but it sounded like they linked the comm system in with the FTL to boost it. So those at the colony would need to keep an FTL system in operation to use it and they probably put that on a back burner, especially when Maddox was in charge.
