Bruinsfan October 8 Share October 8 If a job is so controlling of your life that other people get veto power over your pre-existing romantic relationships, maybe it's not that great a job to strive for? (Note that I feel the same way about the RCC's restrictions on its clergy, and other faiths where the religion, race, or sex of someone's significant other is an issue.) 4 1 Link to comment
DietCokeJunkie October 12 Share October 12 Loved Joanne and Miriam bonding. Of course, Miriam thinks she’s cool. Morgan recording her discussion with Rebecca at the bar should not have happened, but it sure will come in handy to verify what exactly was said. 1 Link to comment

I thought they were voice messages, which is apparently the way the cool kids communicate now (sending a voice recording within a text). I tried to do that with a message to my daughter, when I was stuck in traffic on the way to visit her but I couldn't actually type out a text. She said all she got was silence, but offered to have her 3-year-old show me how to do it. 9 Link to comment

I've always wondered why rabbis become rabbis, and I've never really arrived at an answer, but the one thing I'm sure of is that it's not a trivial or capricious decision that leads there. They (or most of them at least) must feel a calling at a young age. And once the calling is felt, doing anything else is not an option. Which doesn't mean a situation like the one in the show is a stretch. Noah's congregation looks to me like the sort that would contain many interfaith marriages, including marriages with children. I can easily believe he would be drawn that way himself by the right person. It's just that what's cool for a civilian may not be so cool for the spiritual leader of a congregation, in the eyes of that very congregation that feels it's all right for themselves. I believe his dilemma. 6 Link to comment
