Am I the only one who didn't buy Ariadne's mother suddenly becoming understanding and supportive after finding out she'd been wrong about blaming her for Glaucus' death for the past 30 years? Far more likely she'd double down and make everything that happened her fault (which, to be fair, it kind of was, although she had the best of intentions).

I am beyond upset by the brutal murder of Dennis.

i hope the furies don’t go after Ariadne.

i bought her mother, she probably  picked up on Minos being abusive. So she believed it.

Yeah. I could see it coming all through that confrontation around the table, but desperately hoped they wouldn't go there. I should have known they would - it's that kind of show! The combination of Greek mythology and Netflix, I guess.

I binged the whole series this week. I'm not sure what I was expecting, since I watched mostly for Rakie Ayola (Persephone), who grew up near me. I love seeing her in anything, and in this particularly loved hearing our not-very-well-known local accent on a Netflix show!

Overall, I thought the show was fun. Brutal at times, it is Greek mythology, after all, but once you've accepted that premise it's entertaining to watch and I enjoyed seeing how the various mythological strands were handled and woven into the world the show had created. I'm intrigued to see where they take the story next. I want to know what's going on with Canaeus, what will happen to Riddy and Ari, what Dionysus will do next, etc. So I hope there will be a season two! (I have no faith in any network or streaming service to actually finish the stories they start.)

Poor little Dennis.  Too far.

I haven't decided what I think about the show overall.  I thought the tone was inconsistent, and there were a lot of things that seemed to be just for shock value.  I somehow thought this was a miniseries instead of a first season, so I was disappointed at the lack of wrap up in the finale.

There were some interesting tweaks to classical stories. I quite liked this Persephone.  She had a wonderful way of being both compliant and defiant at the same time.  In this episode she acquiesced to Hera's previous critique to wear something colorful and looked marvelous in it, and then she brought out the sandwich that Hera sarcastically ordered her to bring and made all of them jealous by eating in front of them.

I also liked that they worked in a little bit about Orpheus not looking at Eurydice in their final conversation.  Interesting timing; Netflix will show another take on Orpheus and Eurydice in the second season of The Sandman.

That was a disappointing season finale.  No storylines felt resolved. The entire season felt like a tease at the (not) end.

Somehow Riddy really irritated me at the end. She doesn't seem to have a life: no work, no friends - nothing to return from death for. She just mopes around.
If there had been a coin, she would be evaporating in Hade's basement area - but she is still guilt-tripping Orpheus for not 'getting' her - even though she never says what she wants and never takes action.
Caeneus falls in love with her and she will just just waffle and not communicate and probably blame him for not 'getting' her.

Dionysus seems to hang around Mount Olympus only to get abused.  The many other gods don't seem to be obliged to attend. I would be in favor of trading him out for another god - but he is probably not going anywhere.

I'm doubtful that I will return for more -another season would probably be more of the same: a slow, slow buildup to get to another level of limbo.
