Not sure I remember anything about the movie, not even the leads. Was it Anne Hathaway? Who was the male lead?

Anyway, these two are likeable and I'm curious how it will go forward.

I'm on a re-watch and I can't stop laughing at Dex calling on the phone shaped like a hamburger.  

As a child of the 80s, I remember being so jealous of my friend who had a phone shaped like a football.  I desperately wanted to be that cool.

Yes, Anne Hathaway played Emma (very miscast) and Jim Sturgess played Dexter.

I’m glad it was made into a miniseries, so that there’s time to develop parts of the book that the movie left out.

I've heard of the book but never read it, I like this so far though. The leads are both very likable, the characters and the actors.

I didn't find the female lead likeable at all. She was nasty to Dex at every turn. I know everyone thinks sarcasm is cool but it's a coward's way of being an asshole.

I don't think Emma was that bad. Maybe she could have been a teeny less harsh once or twice, but it was a way of protecting herself from a gorgeous guy who sleeps around.  And I don't look at it as cowardly, she still has got some growing up to do.
