Honestly, will no one ever learn?  If you're passing something dodgy off to someone in a dark secluded location, and they ask you if you're the only one who knows about ____, lie.  "Yes, I'm the only one, but if I don't report in to one of several different law firms scattered across the globe, with a passcode that only I know, they will release the information to the public in multiple countries".

I will give the doctor some credit, though...he had no reason to believe Neuman would pose a threat to him or would be averse to a virus to control Supes.

What I don't get is how Vought apparently didn't know that the Woods had been subverted to seek biological warfare on Supes. Or how their background check didn't connect Dean Shetty to the passenger list of those on the plane Homelander killed. Or how Dean Shetty came to learn that Homelander was responsible for all those deaths as opposed to "terrorists" early enough to have put the plan in motion. Like,  I may have a messed up sense of the timeline but I was under the impression that the plane thing was just within the last few years.

I'm pretty sure that Vought knew they were developing the biological weapons against Supes, along with the other behavioral studies. There were hints of ways of controlling Homelander in the Boys, and some were not specific.

However, I don't think they knew that Shetty wanted to commit genocide against them. With Cate in her pocket, though, and considering most of the research was what Vought wanted, things were going well. Damn the doctor for his (minimal )ethics.

I agree that this changed my ideas of the timeline, but that was because this is the first time we really merged with the Boys timeline. I somehow thought it was a few years earlier.

Marie is another 'scanner'. Wow....I don't see that as being a good fit in the Seven, though. Have to find some other use for her power.

Can someone please explain to me what happened at the end?  Did Dean Shetty actually kill herself or was it a fake-out?  Or was it her master plan to get the Scooby gang to believe Cate again?

Although there's some chance someone is playing 4-D chess, I took it at face value. Cate had pushed her such that Shetty would kill herself on delayed voice-command, and kept Shetty  on standby until her friends were there. Cate then tried to show that she was willing to kill Shetty in front of her friends to show them "Hey, I'm not a monster, I'm getting rid of the monster." She did not realize that her friends would (rightly) perceive that proves Cate IS a monster.

Just to throw in that in the Boys there is talk that the seven, and the individual superhero model is on its way out, so they would probably not be averse to the virus. The temp V seems to carry its own limits (lethal after a few uses).
