SoMuchTV July 15, 2023 Share July 15, 2023 (edited) Quote (From Wikipedia:) Brothers & Sisters is an American family drama television series that centers on the Walker family and their lives in Los Angeles and Pasadena, California. It aired for five seasons on ABC from September 24, 2006, to May 8, 2011.[1] For the entirety of its run, it was broadcast on Sunday nights following Desperate Housewives. Brothers & Sisters features an ensemble cast led by Sally Field as Nora Walker, with Rachel Griffiths as Sarah, Calista Flockhart as Kitty, Balthazar Getty as Tommy, Matthew Rhys as Kevin and Dave Annable as Justin Walker, her grown children. Patricia Wettig co-starred as Holly Harper, with Emily VanCamp later joining the cast as Rebecca Harper, as well as Ron Rifkin as Saul Holden. Field won both a Primetime Emmy Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award for her performances throughout the series, as well as Griffiths receiving nominations for two Primetime Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards for her portrayal. [couldn't find an existing topic for this - if there is, mods please merge] This popped up in my Hulu suggestions and I started rewatching the first few episodes. I'm sure I watched it all back in the day. Oh, the DRAMA! I probably won't stick with it through to the end, but it's fun to revisit. This was probably the first thing I saw Matthew Rhys in, and I'm never not impressed with his American accent (among other qualities). I was four or five episodes in before I remembered, oh, hey, he doesn't really sound like that! Edited July 15, 2023 by SoMuchTV 3 Link to comment
Anela July 16, 2023 Share July 16, 2023 I started watching this in 2006, if that’s when it premiered, but didn’t get very far. I didn’t remember why. I binged the whole thing late 2014, finishing just before it left Netflix, and I loved it. 1 Link to comment
Featherhat July 17, 2023 Share July 17, 2023 I remember watching S1 and 2 because of the awesome cast and potential for grown up sibling drama and I enjoyed it at the time. I remember pretty much loosing interest because it got too outright soapy and I already had enough of that going on with GA at the time. ;) And the Rebecca and Ryan stuff just really, really bugged me. 3 Link to comment

Camera One July 18, 2023 Share July 18, 2023 I think I might have finished up to the end of Season 3? I'm not positive. I've always meant to finish it, but I don't remember much of it, and I think the soapiness was eventually a turn-off. Starting back from the beginning again would be a tad too exhausting, though. JAYJAY1979 July 21, 2023 Share July 21, 2023 I didn't enjoy the mistress being allowed a piece of the family business, especially after she lied about her daughter being a Walker. 1 Link to comment
Egg McMuffin July 22, 2023 Share July 22, 2023 I never could stand Matthew Rhys and his “smell the fart” style of acting, with that permanent sneer on his face. Totally agreed about the mistress. It was kind of a miserable family. I didn’t like any of them. 1 Link to comment
Featherhat July 28, 2023 Share July 28, 2023 Patricia Wetting (Holly the mistress) is married to one of the director/producers. After I found that out I knew she was always going to have a large and totally forced role on the show. Hun, if he really loved you he would have left his wife for you or at least not kept you a dirty little secret for 20 years. And as it turns out he had another side piece as well. Though it should have just turned out that the R really was Rebecca and he thought that she was his. Ryan was double stupid. The Rebecca plot and the reason for it was the worst thing this show did. It made everything retroactively more stupid than it already was. Why didn't they ask for a paternity test at the beginning, just to be sure? Why did Holly lie? Why was she so obsessed with the Walkers if she had a kid with someone else and wasn't faithful to Papa Walker? And it wasn't even worth it for the "romance". IMHO. Link to comment
