Nancy launches a new investigation to find a group of missing bodies from Horseshoe Bay's cemetery that have been dug up and stolen - or have possibly risen. As Nancy is drawn into this ghostly case, a string of unexplained paranormal crimes leads the Drew Crew to believe that the literal sins of the town's past have returned to haunt the living. Meanwhile, Nancy struggles with yearning for Ace, the man she loves. But when a slow-burning attraction begins between Nancy and the son of Ryan Hudson's newest enemy, Nancy must decide whether this love interest is worth the ire of both her father and Ace - whose own heart may be tempted by a new relationship too.

Welcome back, Nancy Drew!

I've actually really missed this show. Even though I ended up disliking season 3 and though it was very weak, this premiere felt like a step up. It feels like they kind of know what they're doing, and set up some interesting aspects, such as the rising dead and new fisherman love interest.

I don't love that they're inserting love interest drama in the final season, though. That's annoying, especially since they knew about this being the final season while planning it and should have adjusted. That being said, they did reveal Ace knowing about the curse faster than I thought they would. I was afraid they were planning to drag it out half a season. I guess, even with a weak third season, I shouldn't doubt this show to subvert expectations. But we're still stuck with Ace/Nancy separated so hopefully, they don't wait all season to break the curse.

I did like George and Nick's conversation at the end. I do think time apart is good for them, but still do miss them together. Plus, George disappeared for a bit and I missed her going out to find the rising dead zombies with the Drew Crew.

So, out of all the police chiefs they've had, this new one may be actually interesting to watch, especially given she's in on the supernatural stuff. I kind of liked her semi-rivalry with Nancy. It'll be interesting to see those two interact.

Good thing Ryan lying to Nancy didn't last long. I did like Ryan and Bess teaming up, though.

Overall, I am hopeful for this season to be better than last season, and get back to season 2 levels of awesome.

Yay, this show is back, however briefly!

1. Does it worry anyone else that we never found out what happened to the ferret? Poor ferret. Also where is the Evil Kitty?

2. I am both mildly suspicious and inclined to like the new police chief so far.

3. Ryan, Bess, it didn't occur to either one of you to think that the Porsche was handed back suspiciously quickly? For a number of reasons, both of you should be considerably more leery than this.

4. But speaking of Bess, yay on her outfits this episode. I particularly loved that green jacket.

5. Lobster Boy, always good to see more eye candy on this show, but something tells me you are not in for a fun, safe and happy season.

6. Speaking of eye candy - allow me to just agree with every positive comment about Nick. I think he looked hotter here than on his recent appearance on Queen Charlotte.

7. More Carson and George scenes, please. Those two have just such a lovely, nice, easy chemistry.

8. And on a related note, the My Two Dads continues to be the gift that goes on giving.

9. Very glad we didn't stretch out this OMG I CAN'T TELL ACE ABOUT THE CURSE nonsense. Now, can we please tell Bess? Please?

Well, to be fair to Bess, I don't think she had any idea of the trouble Ryan got into with the Glass family. I forget what happened at the end of the last season (it's been a year!), but I think Ryan's been holding back the debt he had with them.

And Ryan, as much as I love him now, is naïve and doesn't always catch onto things quickly.

I will say that everyone looked great this episode. Nancy at the Lovers Vigil, George with the shorter hair, and Nick with his new hairdo, they all looked fantastic.

I'm so glad that this show is getting time to wrap things up, even if I would love to get more. Considering the CW is killings shows left and right, we're lucky to get even this. Season three was a noticeable drop in quality from season two, even if there was a lot to like about it, but this was a really good start. It seems like the writers know what they're doing again, the new mystery with the zombies seems interesting, and the show seems to have found its energy again. There were a lot of funny lines, a lot of creepy atmosphere, and, on a shallow note, everyone looked amazing. Nick looked so sharp doing that video for Bess, I love George's new haircut, Bess's outfits were on point, Nancy looked stunning at the Lovers Vigil, everyone was just glowing.

I like the new sheriff so far, she seems to have a lot of potential to be an interesting foil to Nancy and company. Having a sheriff who was a very much a nonbeliever who now knows about the supernatural should be a fun new dynamic and I like her starting this perky rivalry with Nancy. I also loved her rather weirded out reaction to Horseshoe Bay's love of morbid nautical traditions, I guess looking at it from the outside it does start to look a little Midsommar.

I'm still not loving the show keeping Nancy and Ace apart, especially with this being the last season (I want to see them as a real couple damn it!) but I'm really glad that Ace figured it out in the first episode so at least they both know what going on now. Ryan also told Nancy what was going on, George and Nick had a nice honest talk, I'm so happy to see so much communication, no stupid secret keeping. I hope that George and Nick can get back together soon, it seems inevitable.

Ryan and Bess are a fun combination, they're both rather flighty and extra in ways that compliment each other. I am also glad that Carson is still mentoring George as she becomes a lawyer, she's going to be really good at it. When she better understands what habius corpus is.

Nancy's Two Dads continues to be my favorite part of the show, Carson, Ryan, and Nancy are a very unconventional but very sweet family unit. "Don't say that bro, your looking great!"

*Zombie rises from the grave and ambles away.*

Nancy: "Looks like the body's weren't stolen at all."

Nick: *Drinks coffee*

Just another day in Horseshoe Bay!

Nancy Drew is back for one last ride!  Despite my issues with the last half of the third season, I'm glad they are at least able to wrap this up and hopefully give it a proper ending.  Still think it's one of the best and most underrated shows in the CW line-up (definitely the best cast and character, IMO.)

Glad they aren't going to drag things out too much with Nancy/Ace and they at least already have Ace find out the truth about the curse and Nancy's real feelings.  Granted, I'm sure it still won't be an easy fix for them, but I'm glad he won't be kept in the dark going forward.  Do worry that they are setting up this Tristan character as a potential obstacle/love interest, but I wonder if him being the son of the Glass couple might have put a lid on that entire idea?

I also suspect that this isn't the end for George and Nick yet.  There is clearly still a lot of feelings and emotions here and I can see them reconciling come endgame time.  Until then, I'm glad they are on speaking terms and communicating with one another.

Horseshoe Bay really does go through their sheriffs quickly, huh?  This new one has potential though: especially since she knows about the supernatural stuff now.  Plus, it is always great seeing Erin Cummings!

Nancy's Two Dads continue to be the best dads on television!

Bess is still the best!

Have to imagine the ferret is Chekov's Gun.  It's going to make an appearance/factor into this somehow!

Yep, Nancy and the Drew Crew's reaction to discovering zombies basically being an initial shock and then being all "Well, of course!" is pretty much pare for the course.  Nothing is off the table here!

So, that liquid the zombies vomited is making its way to Horseshoe Bay's water supply?  Uh oh!
