Raja May 16, 2023 Share May 16, 2023 Big bad past conspiracies, folks coming back from the dead, instant intercontinental travel, ghost spies able to find a needle in a country. It looks like the franchise has reigned in Hawai'i and made it "real NCIS" a couple of years faster then it did with New Orleans. With Agent Whistler just taking off with a suspended agent from another agency I am guessing she transfers again to NCIS after the writer's strike. For a two part cliffhanger they really should check what is used for the end of episode promos. Spoiler Torture porn check but then we know she gets out with her badge to continue the story. Losing Charlie 1 for this was such a waste. And a suit looking over SAC Tennent's shoulder for the rest of the run hopefully doesn't happen and ends after the season finale. 2 Link to comment

Could be interesting if that happens. Who do they pair Whistler with? (Lucy is out of the question since they are in a relationship). I would say she would be put with Boone, since he is the senior non-supervisory agent, then Lucy and Kai would partner up. Link to comment

And if it was just for momentary shock value as opposed to a contractual reason with the actor? Shameful. Whoever wrote this can stay on strike. 1 Link to comment
blackwing May 16, 2023 Share May 16, 2023 I really hope Charlie 1 isn't dead. He's a great character. I was hoping for him to be paired with Jane, they get along great and I liked the way he smiled at her when he came out of the shadows. Maybe the bullet just got him in the shoulder. Didn't need to see Maggie again. She's so passively irritating. "That's it???" Yep. Go away. I also don't care at all for Swift, hopefully he goes away too after the conclusion. 1 Link to comment

With the Los Angeles finale I fear if not him the show picks up someone to play that type of role. And their passed on scripts get reworked for the islands Edited May 16, 2023 by Raja Link to comment

Unfortunately, I think Charlie 1 is truly dead since that looked like a head shot. I liked him as well. I'm not sure why the show is dragging Jane's old CIA stuff out though yes, it's an excuse to shoehorn in Maggie. We got to see a Jane's daughter again briefly. I hope this pays off and unlike the other NCIS shows that like to drag up and keep ongoing stories going in perpetuity, I truly hope this is a one and done. Link to comment
MissLucas May 17, 2023 Share May 17, 2023 Well, it's not NCIS if someone does not have a ridiculously convoluted backstory in black ops/spy craft. I watch this show for some great shots of Hawaii and some funny banter. Tenant keeps her CIA secrets in the couch? With two kids around? I'm not impressed. I hope Henry Ian Cusick enjoyed working back in Hawaii. 2 Link to comment
Snazzy Daisy May 17, 2023 Share May 17, 2023 (edited) I don’t like this episode at all. Charlie 1 is an interesting character who provides actions and comic reliefs. Plus, he always has Jane’s back and now we know their backstories, how they’re connected by their black ops’ past. But the show decides to eliminate this character for a shock value??! Hate this. UGH. What’s the real reason for Jane to bring Kate to Caracas? So Kate can present copies of official disclosure requests from the US State Department to the bank officer? Why can’t these documents be transmitted to the bank electronically? The bank officer doesn’t even hesitate to disclose account info to Jane Padilla, no doc required. For an ex-CIA and a badass NCIS Special Agent, Jane Tennant really cannot think straight when her emotions get the best of her. Kate and Charlie 1 get entangled in her web of messiness. Charlie 1 has to pay with his life for trying to protect her. I wonder why Vanessa Lachey keeps making these weirds faces throughout this episode. Is that her only way to convey some emotions? Kate was the one that didn't want her to go by herself and wanted to be her backup. Then Jane immediately sidelines her. Would have been nice to have Kate with her when she went to that house. Were it not for Charlie 1 she'd have been killed. 1 Link to comment
