Ouch. Not the strongest episode, I have to say. I get that it was a transitional one but they could have put in more jokes.

Oh Malcolm....  So well intentioned, so eager to please, yet cursed with his father's situational blindness....

I do like that they took on the controversy over a relationship between a student and teacher head-on and made it the clear B-plot of this episode.

Calvin’s face when Dave said his dad’s name was Lamar had me rolling.

I liked how Calvin was so sympathetic to Dave's situation with his father.

From previews it looks like Kevin Pollak is going to be Dave's long lost father - he played a similar role in "Mom".

I thought of that as well. Poor Kevin always getting the I abandoned my family roles ...
