I really don’t get why they’re doing Ross/Red Hulk.

”But it was in the comics…”

So now we’re supposed to believe Feige and the MCU a shit about comic book accuracy after they’ve butchered Steve’s story, woobified Zemo, turned Sharon into the Power Broker, killed off Natasha, turned Peggy into a fucking Mary Sue, made Hank Pym a good guy, and so many other changes that I can’t even keep track of? This was their line in the sand? Ughhhhhhh.

Spoiler

at the White House. President Ross (Harrison Ford) is hosting an event about the celestial mass that appeared on Earth. He explains that when that happened, many different people rushed to try and claim it. It was a whole mess. But, thanks to Captain America, they finally have found something of value. A new element: adamantium. Yes, that adamantium.

In a new scene that seems to come after, we see Sam (Anthony Mackie) and Ross speaking in the Oval Office. He wants Cap to rebuild the Avengers but, Cap points out, Ross’ Sokovia Accords previously destroyed the Avengers. So, he asks, what happens when they disagree? We don’t get an answer.

A bunch of action scenes, including a big part of the White House being destroyed, happen and we see Sam in a normal suit strutting into the Situation Room. He says he has to talk to the President. Everyone leaves, except one woman: Ruth (Shira Haas). Ross says she stays no matter what. Apparently, Sam is worried that Ross’s inner circle has been compromised and Ross tells Ruth to put it to bed. Sam says that’s bullshit. Ross says it’s politics.

A person in a hood kills a bunch of people in a room. Captain America and Falcon (Danny Ramirez) are flying around together. We see Cap throw the shield from the air with the wings spread out. The phrase “The Future Favors the Brave” appears on screen.

Ross is giving a speech outside the White House. Shots are fired, he ducks down and starts to Hulk out. Out emerges Red Hulk, with Harrison Ford’s face via motion capture.

1 | Are you pleased to see The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’s Isaiah Bradley (played by Carl Lumbly) featured so prominently in the new Captain America: Brave New World trailer? Or does that actually have you worrying that the character shouldn’t buy any green bananas? And did the Thunderbolts* trailer make you guffaw when Ghost referred to Falcon and Winter Soldier’s John Walker as “dime store Captain America”? (Because he 100% was.)

Bleeding Cool: Having worked both in Marvel and DC across live-action and voiceovers, what would you say are the biggest differences between working in both worlds?
*  *  *
As far as playing, the difference between Martian Manhunter and Isaiah [Bradley] I say it is, literally and figuratively, Isaiah is so much more grounded in the blood he has witnessed that was shed, grounded in the dirt in which he slept on missions, grounded in the love of a wife, that he married young, and had to leave, and never saw again in a daughter he did not get the opportunity to meet. All those wildly fraught developmental phases that we go through as human beings, he had got that cut off. I get to see what his face looks like after having gone through all of that.

J'onn J'onzz was always the same. He always looked like the same Martian, and while we didn't have other Martians to compare him to [laughs]. You imagine that was the standard look for a Martian that was 12-1500 years old. I can't remember, and age is just a number. Isaiah's been lived in, and like some of my favorite shoes, it's not shiny or bright anymore, but really comfortable. You're used to…playing Isaiah in a lived reality allows me to access more of myself.

CAPTAIN AMERICA: BRAVE NEW WORLD - Anthony Mackie Reveals How He Learned He'd Be The MCU's New Captain America

During a recent interview to promote tickets for the movie going on sale, actor Anthony Mackie reflected on learning he'd be the MCU's Star Spangled Avenger.

"It was a bunch of us at his house - [Chris Evans] had this crazy house - sitting there watching a game, shooting the sh*t. So he goes, 'Have you read the new script?' I said, 'Nah.' And he was like 'Tou don't know?' And you know, being black, I’m like 'I'mma die, damn. They're getting rid of me, man. I don't even cause no trouble. I stand in the back, like I don't bother nobody.'"

"So he's like 'C'mon, c'mon.' In his house, he had like a trap door that went to a basement that was like the man cave of all man caves. He has all of his Marvel stuff laid out, his new script and all this stuff. And I’m like 'Oh, this is your prep room.'"

"He gets the new script. He goes to like the last 10 pages, and he goes 'Read it!' So me thinking they killed me off I get to the part and it's like, you know, I’m reading the scene between us, and it goes 'He hands him the shield.' I’m like, 'So why did you give me the shield? He’s like, 'Because you’re f**king Captain America.' We hug, we jump up and down. It was hilarious."

CAPTAIN AMERICA: BRAVE NEW WORLD Ticket Pre-Sales Ahead Of THE MARVELS But Behind ANT-MAN 3
By Mark Cassidy   Jan 20, 2025

Tickets for Marvel Studios' Captain America: Brave New World went on sale on Friday, and we have an update on how pre-sales have been doing over the weekend.

According to box office analyst Luiz Fernando, ticket sales are 1.4x better than The Marvels and Warner Bros.' recent Joker sequel, and are about on par with Eternals - but "nowhere near" Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which opened on the same weekend in 2023.

Considering Ant-Man 3 underperformed and The Marvels and Folie à Deux were noted flops, this doesn't seem like the best start. That said, we are only talking about a few days of pre-sales here, and the movie is still on track for a solid enough $86 million - $95 million debut over the 3-day Valentine's Day/President's Day weekend.

Anticipation for Sam Wilson's (Anthony Mackie) big-screen debut as the Sentinel of Liberty does seem to have been somewhat muted, which can probably be attributed to a number of factors, including mixed-negative test-screening reports and underwhelming plot leak details.

Plus, we can't ignore the fact that - for whatever reason - a lot of fans simply haven't embraced Wilson taking up the Captain America mantle from Steve Rogers (Chris Evans).
