S02.E08: Simon Says Game Over

My guess is Jake took the fall for something Cole did and season 3 will be learning what it was while Cole becomes the final Big Bad.

The lead up to the Fiona reveal was good. She was present throughout and we knew right away she was “trying for a fresh start” so her being Simon Says works. I don’t remember the show saying anything about her having an allergy so I’m guessing poison. Cole really doesn’t want risk her telling what she knows.

Also not a chance in hell Bronwyn or any of them are dead though still intrigued at the teaser. Also Bronwyn is justified in being mad at Maeve but we all know she’ll forgive her so I hope it doesn’t go too long. Also want to see Vanessa investigating more. She ended up being pretty good at it and she’ll need to hone those skills if she truly wants to give journalism a shot.

That was definitely my impression. Although what did Jake confess that got him sent to the rehab? I can't even remember.

I feel like Season 3 might implicate the principal somehow since she pushes that rehab center so hard for some bizarre reason, but this show doesn't seem that interested in adults as major players.

I'm hoping now that Janae is mad at Maeve they'll give me Janae/Addy. Their chemistry is off the charts.

Me too. I know forgiveness is coming but that betrayal was pretty massive and offensive, so letting someone back in as a human can work but letting them back in as a romantic partner after she was so reckless just because she wasn't allowed to override literally every other person's opinion? Nah. Bring on Janae/Addy.

They never let us in on the reason.

Yea, I'm suspicious of the principal because of that and the fact that she's writing a book about Murder Club.

Fiona being the big bad was a bit more impressive after I rewatched the first season and realized that she was the first person that Simon outed in the pilot episode. They brought it up in the episode and I didn’t even put 2+2 together and remember this. I wonder if this was always the showrunners plans to have Fiona be SS. Will be interesting to see how her death is going to play into the end scene.

Definitely agree that the principal is suspicious.

I agree that Maeve will get forgiven by both Bronwyn and Janae. However, I am hoping for Janae/Addy as well. Just haven’t warmed up to Maeve’s character. Plus while she and Janae have chemistry, I haven’t seen why Maeve likes Janae outside of the fact that Janae likes her and thinks she is amazing. With Janae and Addy there has been a story where we have seen them become friends and really care about each other and if something more happened it would make sense and feel earned. Also while I can see Janae forgiving Maeve for going behind the groups back to try to get close to SS, I am not sure she will completely forgive Maeve for putting Addy’s life in danger.

Lol, I didn't realize there were so many other people who wanted to see Janae with Addy. I shipped them early on, but it only seemed like they were definitely going that way when Maeve expressed jealousy over Addy outright. I have to admit that that was what clued me in to Maeve being the mole; something had to happen to move Janae out of Maeve's orbit, and Fiona's assistant had to have some level of involvement in the group/tech skills. I didn't think it was recklessness rather than duplicity, but that was a better way to go since I don't believe Maeve would intentionally hurt Bronwyn.

Nice to see remaining dangling threads to be addressed in S3. Unlike other shows of its type, I think these people have a plan and know what they're doing. I'm actually looking forward to seeing where they take this. Also still suspicious of Principal Gupta.
