Affogato September 23, 2022 Share September 23, 2022 I have no way to test this, because I'm hugely spoiled, but I think you would get the gist of this show without understanding any of the words. Galadriel might even come off better. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/133650-s01e04-the-great-wave/page/2/#findComment-7664569

I was mostly extrapolating from press stories in recent years about how Hollywood develops certain types of movies to target the mass foreign box office. I'm sorry but that was not clear at all (the speculation on the writers motivations x your personal views). wanderingstar September 23, 2022 Share September 23, 2022 I really loved this episode - even more on rewatch. The Durin/Elrond/Disa scenes are a delight. And the big ending with the Numenorians deciding to join the elves in battle gave me chills. Really enjoying this show so far. 4 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/133650-s01e04-the-great-wave/page/2/#findComment-7665156
Tachi Rocinante September 28, 2022 Share September 28, 2022 Best episode so far, but that's not saying too much. I like Morfydd, but at the beginning, all I saw was Jane Krakowski overacting with a bad accent, and now I can't unsee it. So Waldreg is a douche. Not surprising. Does the platinum ore contain crumbs of evil in it or something? The "Spartacus" ending was a bit forced Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/133650-s01e04-the-great-wave/page/2/#findComment-7673465

Well, technically the Numenoreans are joining one elf in battle and that elf is one that the other elves think is kind of an obsessive nutbar. 4 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/133650-s01e04-the-great-wave/page/2/#findComment-7674111

Have to admit, that was quite the visual and I laughed out loud. Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/133650-s01e04-the-great-wave/page/2/#findComment-7676225

Elrond: I have seen my share. Galadriel: You have not seen what I have seen. Miriel: Well, you have not seen what I have seen. Galadriel: Fine, now I have seen what you have seen. Arondir: But you have not seen what I have seen. Galadriel/Miriel: But you have not seen what we have seen. Arondir: But what I have seen happens before what you have seen so maybe we can stop what you saw if we do something about what I have seen even though *someone* should have seen what we all have seen earlier. Gil-galad: Oops. Harfoots: You are the weakest link and have been de-caravan-ed. Goodbye. Kudos! This gave me a hardy laugh, which is no easy feat.
