Tara Ariano March 12, 2014 Share March 12, 2014 The Wessex Viking raid is in full swing and King Ecbert finds himself facing an entirely new kind of foe. While Ragnar races to dominate in the West, Jarl Borg has his own plans in store for the future of Kattegat. Link to comment
David T. Cole March 12, 2014 Share March 12, 2014 Every time I see the name Ecbert I imagine Q-Bert with a crown. That is all. 2 Link to comment

Sarah D. Bunting March 14, 2014 Share March 14, 2014 I just saw Linus Roache's buttcrack. This isn't a complaint, I'm just kind of annoyed that apparently I have to watch the show now? 2 Link to comment
David T. Cole March 14, 2014 Share March 14, 2014 Sarah, he's been in two episodes so far and he's been in his Hot Tub Planning Machine in both. Dude loves a bath. 1 Link to comment

David T. Cole March 29, 2014 Share March 29, 2014 Yeah, I think you are right DHD. I chalk it up to my debilitating Viking bloodlust. Link to comment
atomationage April 12, 2014 Share April 12, 2014 (edited) Winchester might have been a walled town even back then since it dated from Roman times. Bishop Swithun became a saint, but wasn't around until Ethelwulf became king, and wasn't a martyr either. Anyway, cheers to King Ecbert. His descendants are still reigning, and always have been except for the Canutes and the first four Normans. Edited April 12, 2014 by atomationage Link to comment

Amerilla February 29, 2016 Share February 29, 2016 (edited) Queen Elizabeth II is the 34th-great-granddaughter of the real-life Ecbert. Edited February 29, 2016 by Amerilla Link to comment
atomationage March 18, 2016 Share March 18, 2016 Edward III was a descendant of Ecbert, and most monarchs that weren't part of a new dynasty are descendants of Edward, mostly through his son John of Gaunt. Link to comment
Kalliste September 4, 2016 Share September 4, 2016 I recently got on the Vikings train (boat?) and really enjoyed season one. So far, not enjoying season 2 as much but we're only 3 episodes in so I'll see how it goes. I think it's mostly that I miss Lagertha's bad-arsery and now she's with this douchey new earl (not that the previous earl she was with isn't douchey) and Bjorn is still a cry baby, just a bigger one.
