Lady Calypso April 29, 2022 Share April 29, 2022 Quote SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COMES - Mel (Melonie Diaz), Maggie (Sarah Jeffery) and Kaela (Lucy Barrett) must divide and conquer when they become aware of a new, formidable threat inspired by the Tallyman (guest star Jed Rees.) Maggie and Harry (Rupert Evans) team up to chase down a lead in a dangerous magical realm. Mel needs Jordan's (Jordan Donica) help healing a "creature" with whom she has a deep emotional connection. And Kaela's budding flirtation with Dev (guest star Kapil Talwalkar) must contend with a surprise visitor from her past. Jem Garrard directed the episode written by Jeffery Lieber and Christina Piña (#407). Original airdate 4/29/2022. Link to comment
iMonrey April 30, 2022 Share April 30, 2022 I'm getting really tired of Maggie whipping out her baton at every sign of trouble. I know it's supposed to make her look all bad-ass but they are overdoing it to the point of absurdity. I also don't get what's going on with Mel's powers. The show really screwed everything up when they all lost their powers then got back some weird variation on them from some black ooze coming out of the floor. I wish the new show-runners had just fixed that right away. I was so hoping we were finished with the Tallyman (stupidest villain name EVER) and this bartender chick, but I guess if there's a bright side to it, they aren't changing gears five or six times in one season. So far. 4 Link to comment

She's Phoebe 2.0, Phoebe had her "fighting skills", & they couldn't do the exact same thing with Maggie, so they went in a completely different direction (/s) & gave her the baton of doom. Primal Slayer April 30, 2022 Share April 30, 2022 Like most episodes...it was decent. Started out semi ok. Even though I hate that we have so many men involved on a full time basis so early within this shows run and into Kaelas introduction...at least Dev is charamstic as well and he/Kaela have great chemistry. Though I dont understand even if it were her real mom...why couldnt Dev have just snuck out the backyard? Why couldnt she say that she believes that Maggie/Mel may be her sisters and she's trying to get to know them better? I've been over Harrys storyline since it started. Him giving up his whitelighter-hood on a the SLIMest possibility that Macy could be in this inbetween is just ridiculous. He has zero reason to believe that she would be there. She was content with her death. What makes him think that he is the person that would know that she had unfinished business compared to her sisters? TCO vs. whatshername....was a let down. We continue to use Maggie as a cheap go to for a fight instead of allowing them to use their powers during a fight. Mel never uses her freezing/heat for the offensive and I hate it. And to make it even worst...all they had to do was tip over a cauldron and have part of the liquid get out? They could've just used a cup to take some of it out and still won the battle. Maggie gets a new power out of the blue.....right after she just gets her extended premonitions power back...not a fan. 3 Link to comment

Yeah I get that but that prop is tedious. I agree with Primal Slayer: Quote We continue to use Maggie as a cheap go to for a fight instead of allowing them to use their powers during a fight. Mel never uses her freezing/heat for the offensive and I hate it. This annoys the hell out of me too. I don't know why, in a show about people with magical powers, you have to have hand-to-hand combat and physical fighting. The mentality behind that feels toxic-masculine. Like you have to show girls kicking ass and being tough by having them fight. Now that Maggie can essentially steal someone else's powers I hope she stops whipping out that stupid baton every time someone looks at her cross-eyed. 1 Link to comment

Camera One May 28, 2022 Share May 28, 2022 I got behind a few weeks. This episode was alright, I guess. The bartending living her nth life isn't exactly scintillating but I too am glad that at least the narrative isn't switching to something else like in previous seasons. It took seven episodes to finally finish Harry's tiresome grieving-over-Macy arc, which wasn't engaging at all. Who knew the Tree Charmed lady was so active in solving problems. Maybe she could have just given the Charmed Ones a quick briefing to prepare them for what was coming? I was interested in seeing the new sister's birth mom but it turned into a predictable doppleganger plot. They basically let the villain walk right into their house without knowing it. Any planning so that doesn't happen again? I wasn't really paying attention while watching, so I'm not even sure what the broken bowl had to do with anything. Oh well. This was another episode where the three sisters were basically separated for the most part, though I did like seeing Mel and Jordan work together. The ex-girlfriend knows full well Mel is constantly busy saving the world, so the whole you-don't-have-time-to-help-me-get-elected subplot was annoying. Link to comment
