At first I thought Alice was suddenly having stage fright, but now I think it's more than that. Did her parents telling her not to tell anyone (whatever it was they wanted her not to say) mean she can't go on stage because she's overwhelmed with the need to talk about it?

First episode in a long time that Davia didn't annoy me.

No Gael or Isabella, which was fine with me.

Mariana's story is making me so angry. It's a barrage of sexist tropes on so many levels that I honestly am starting to hate the writers. They used to be better than this. I am genuinely angry about it.

Malika's BF is starting to look pathetic. She invited her other lover to their date night and then ignored him and spent the whole time with the other (last week) and he still thought it was a good idea to ask her to be his primary at that moment. Then he was leaning in to it when she didn't reply, and she was right that it was really soon after his break up and it makes it seem like he's shopping because he can't handle not having "a primary". Not all poly people have "primaries" but I'm pretty sure that the way he's going about it smacks of "can't handle being without back up" which is sad.

He's human. Okay. But it's not fun to watch.

I wonder what happens to the bro searching for his sister. And why was he so secretive about it, if it's really what he says it was, and she wasn't actually running from him?

The evil jealous lesbian trying to keep Malika away from her ex is annoying me. Does anyone on this show's writing team actually like the communities they are writing about, or have they handed the writing over to outsiders who buy into all the worst stereotypes about women, lesbians, poly people, and the other groups they used to pride themselves on being the only show on TV that actually had authentic representation for?

I dunno, Mariana's plots have been pretty dumb the whole way through. This time, though, they reached a whole new level of incompetence, as remember, Mariana signed her non-compete clause AFTER discovering that Jackie had altered the code, because she wanted to stick around to see if she could prove Jackie stole the code some other way, so Mariana discovering that the non-compete wasn't enforceable shouldn't have had ANY impact on her decision regarding staying at Revitalize or not. The writers clearly are just hoping that we'll forget their own plot!

The preview for next episode was hilarious, with Mariana apologizing to the other members of Bulk Beauty for her momentously stupid decision. They could just use a streaming loop of Mariana apologizing for being stupid to save money! :)

As to the Poly plot, it does seem like they've lost the string there a bit, as well, with Diontae, as you note, looking pretty pathetic, but SO pathetic that I now sort of question whether Malka even wants to still date him, as she seems to have zero chemistry with him nowadays and 100% chemistry with her girlfriend.

Yes, I have noticed that since The Fosters. They make an effort of "representing" every single identity, they bring in actors that do represent that identity - sometimes in a very pathetic way, like having someone disabled as a co-worker with a couple of lines in a handful of episodes. With the LGBTQ.... community, this is more evident. But then, they don't really allow the real representation. Maybe because it is "controversial" and they don't want o alienate the share of the audience that cannot fully accept all people. In the case of polyamory, I always thought they did a particular bad job, with Malika all of a sudden discovering and knowing everything about being poly.  I do know some people who are in polyamorous relationships, but I am not close to them and don't know much about it but in the show things seem a little forced to me. Could be the acting.

Instead of representation we are getting virtue signaling.

This Bulk Beauty subplot is never ending. How are they going to afford to pay three more people? And why would Mariana trust the awful project manager who is clearly in league with Jackie. Because she cried? Mariana is usually better at reading people.

Hey new guy. You might get better results out of people if you told them your sister went missing and your family is desperate to find her. Just saying, "oh, she's an old friend, I'm trying to reconnect" does not motivate people.

I am really curious what is up with Alice. I got the sense she is having some kind of breakdown and her parents told her not to tell anyone? Or maybe she is sick and keeping it a secret is causing the breakdown?

Also, I am not clear how Alice knew she was the source of the ants and it wasn't just another pool of ants that found the food in her bag. It didn't look like there was more ants there than anywhere else.

Yeah, the Bulk Beauty story is just too annoying. Instead of ending this ridiculousness, they are adding to it.

The only good thing in this episode was Davia and Luca. A tad of inspiration porn but still interesting. I tuned out of Malika's romances because it is another boring plot. The show was never very high on my scale but it has lost its foot. They are throwing too many little issues, as they have always done, but the issues are not interesting enough, or they are outright annoying or boring. Now they have Alice and the ants and I bet it will turn out to be something completely silly.

I'm guessing something like getting a bi-polar diagnosis or something like that, and her parents think it would be shameful to admit to something like that. If she's in a bad head space right now, whether she was ACTUALLY the source of the ants or not, she likely just FEELS that she is, as she isn't thinking things through fully.
