I binged all episodes last night. Pleasantly surprised, although HBO's determination to jam in as many prosthetic penises as possible is tiresome.

I like all the actors. The lead has a Deborah Walley thing going on. I wondered if they are trying to clone Jenn Lyon (Jennifer in Claws) via Bambi - beautiful, statuesque, big blond hair, dumb-but-not-really, distinctive voice.

After watching the disturbing Secrets of Playboy, the publisher's similarity to Hefner was a bit unsettling.

Hope there's a second season.

I only just stumbled on this and it's been a pleasant surprise so far!  Hope the rest of the season hold up.

I forgot to reply to this episode but I really enjoyed it and how Doug's warnings came back to bite Joyce.

But I especially appreciated that the ex-boyfriend who volunteered to cover the press conference didn't do so with ill intent and, in fact, was helpful. It was a nice subversion of expectations.

I said this on GOT, but I'm all for all nudity all over the place. You have to on this show, but people are way more nude irl than on tv.

I like the relationship with Doug and Tina. I don't know if they were together or what, but it seems like that what Joyce is going for.

I did like that it was a softball, but actually good insight into the magazine.

Doug does publish 12 magazines; he knows what he's doing. I like shows where people are relatively good at their jobs and not just 'there' or failing upward. Just because it's porn, as Doug said last episode, it's a legitimate business. I still appreciate he's letting Joyce run with it.

Yep.  And it's not just because he knows "best" but rather, it sounds like he has made mistakes and he's trying to share the lessons he has learned rather than him just inherently knowing what's best.

He is enjoying antagonizing Joye just a little bit. He does think Minx could be new type of magazine though.

I like Joyce, I do.  But her naivete and refusal to respect that Doug knows what he is talking about is annoying to me.  I am a little over of her needing to learn a lesson at then end of each ep.

Not gonna lie, Fire dude Shane is pretty danged hot. But i like how it empowered him in the end to stand up to his detractors. 

I love seeing more about Tina and Doug's relationship and her role in the business. Her little play to get him to fess up to the money was good. Am I wrong?  But I am feeling some vibes there.  I was sure they were gonna get Doug and Joyce together but now... I am not so sure.  The dynamic between them doesn't feel like the show is trying to go there.  But I am getting little whiffs of something there with Tina.
