cardigirl March 6, 2022 Share March 6, 2022 I haven't read the reviews, but so far I have enjoyed this. The level of horror is just about right. If it gets more violent or gruesome, I'll be out. It's also pretty funny. 3 Link to comment
AnimeMania March 6, 2022 Author Share March 6, 2022 Could be funnier and could be a lot scarier. Since a lot of the things are dreams, they could have gone bigger. A person who is into VR games would love the house, plenty of large open spaces, I don't know why Jake would be gaming so close to his family, totally a TV show thang. I laughed really hard when the showed all the wood that Terry chopped. They should have fixed the house up a little before they moved in. The kitchen looks fine, but the carpet on the stairs looks dangerous. The rooms look like they should have been cleaned up more and have better lighting. Terry was really good at mansplaining. I was so sad when Frank's dad lost his best friend. I was wondering if he had left yet. 2 Link to comment
Zonk March 7, 2022 Share March 7, 2022 Realtor: "No basement." Me: "Oh, there is going to be a basement." Well at least it wasn't extra large condoms in that box, in Frank's apartment. That has to be a relief. 13 hours ago, AnimeMania said: Could be funnier and could be a lot scarier. Since a lot of the things are dreams, they could have gone bigger. Yeah. I'm not sure what this is supposed to be. I guess it might get a lot scarier, but I think this might be something like "The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window" where they try to be both funny and a real iteration of the genre and thus it works out as neither. Also I'm not sure if horror can work as a show. I guess people are saying good things about Bly Mannor, but I haven't seen it yet. I usually find horror rather boring. I mainly tuned into this because of Courtney Cox and because I thought it might lean more on the funny side. 13 hours ago, AnimeMania said: They should have fixed the house up a little before they moved in. There are holes in it everywhere. 2 Link to comment
sharifa70 March 10, 2022 Share March 10, 2022 I’ll give it another couple of episodes to see where this is going, but so far the only character I like is Roxy. The liberal use of f-bombs, while not particularly shocking (I grew up Army and work with cops), is an example of lazy and boring writing. Both kids are horrible on “how are they not getting punched in the face every day” levels, and Greg Kinnear seems to have dropped in from some other show because I am having a hard time buying him as a member of this particular family. I really hope Mira Sorvino is able to do something here, because at this point she’s the only potential bright spot besides Roxy. 1 Link to comment
chediavolo March 15, 2022 Share March 15, 2022 I like it so far. Courtney Cox is a pretty good actress even if you have to get past looking at her scary plastic face. There’s definitely a basement in that house no way a house that old and large doesn’t have a basement in Connecticut. Yeah really they left the rugs on the stairs all ripped up like that? good way to kill yourself. 4 Link to comment
