absnow54 September 13, 2021 Share September 13, 2021 I just couldn't get over how dumb Nick was to run straight to Dawn's house instead of to his family to let them know he was okay. I understand he was missing and then turned up dead, but by the end of this episode, I felt like we barely got even a few good snippets of Nick himself, just what people were talking about with him. Yeah, they really built up a narrative, and then sort of glossed over "the answer." I felt like this was a take on most true crime documentaries, where a woman is murdered, but the main focus is on the man who is paying for the crime. In this case, Nick is the victim, but the story is mostly about Pia and Sophie coming to terms with it. 1 1 Link to comment

YOU THOUGHT YOU WERE GOING TO DIE! One explanation could be that he realized he found himself close to Dawn's house and just went there on foot as he didn't have a phone and it was late night and fearing a bunch of people believed he was a murderer and serial abuser, not realizing he'd be in danger entering her house. Not sure why it needed to be 8 episodes. The reporter narrative should have taken about 5 minutes, but it took them an entire episode to introduce a bunch of uninteresting characters. Overall, pretty entertaining show, though slow at certain points. 1 Link to comment
Glade September 19, 2021 Share September 19, 2021 I fast-forwarded/skipped through the last few episodes and rolled my eyes at the ridiculous ending. I wish I hadn't clicked, this manipulative trash reads like it should have been a dailymail article. 1 1 3 Link to comment
MaggieG September 29, 2021 Share September 29, 2021 My husband and I also suspected Matt. When Nick told the brother he didn't make those profiles and that he never spoke to Sarah, I thought "well who would have pictures of him?" and I suspected Ethan. Didn't see the whole Dawn thing coming so we were pleasantly surprised. They did make it seem like the relationship with Emma was real. The presents, the fact that Nick travelled to LA, Emma had pictures of them in her apartment, the love scene. I thought maybe he did actually have an affair with her but the other women (Sarah, Mandy) were being catfished. That's why I kinda suspected Ethan. That he found out about his Dad's affair and created other profiles pretending to be him to get back at him. The reveal that Emma never met him was a surprise to me as well. I'm also glad Detective Cutie and Pia didn't hookup. He needs a nice girl and Pia is a mess haha. 3 Link to comment

There’s no way you could figure it out because the crucial information about Dawn having his pics and setting up his password wasn’t shown to us until the end. That’s my one gripe. A good whodunnit has clues throughout. 6 Link to comment

I for sure though it was the volleyball coach but I hated that this whole show was all red herrings and we never saw a freaking clue the whole time. What a bummer. 2 Link to comment

I really enjoyed this series. The writers did a good job with all the twists and turns. I also liked that each episode focused on one of the characters in the story. And of course they did a good job of making Matt look suspicious from the start, so it was a nice surprise to see that it was not the person I suspected all along. Im still confused- what were matts actions all about? Why did he have all that stuff about nick?? 1 Link to comment
AnyTimeFromNow September 30, 2023 Share September 30, 2023 Wow. Until this episode, I would have rated this series a 9 out 10. But when they made the villain a slightly overweight, middle-aged, woman of average looks, in a series filled with young, attractive, slim folks, this series fell to a 2 out of 10 for me. Really?! I thought we got over that trope that the relatively unattractive people, filled with jealousy over more attractive, especially younger, fitter, folk, are the guilty ones. Yuck. Link to comment
