I only saw the original movie once, but was Moana's little sister in the first one?  Or those coconut things?  Surely none of the bakers knew either of them well enough to just "come up" with a design based on the characters.  And no Maui?  I don't know why they think they have to try to bamboozle the audiences into thinking these ideas come on the fly when it's so obvious they aren't.

Hate when they have to do this cross product placement crap.

Same here. It's just one big commercial.

I know nothing about Moana and thought it was a poor choice for a holiday theme.  I did like the kooky birds.

I never figured out if Corey is male or female.  The name didn't help and I kept changing my mind.  I wasn't sorry to see that team leave but I was mostly just happy that Jonathan didn't get eliminated.

I'm agreeing with your entire post. I've never seen Moana and don't know much about it.

Yeah, I was also confused but somehow concluded that Corey was male.

Glad Jonathan didn't get eliminated, too. I thought his fish were beautiful, so I was pissed that they criticized them and used that to put his team in the bottom two. 😠

Also, Joseph from Mistletoe Mavericks reminds me of a young John Deacon from Queen.

Hello everyone!  It's me Jonathan from Team Snow Good

Hi, Jonathan!  I've been a fan of yours since you were on the Halloween baking show years ago.  I still remember you popping all those balloons.  :)  And I still think you should have won.  I hope your team is the winner this time around.

Jonathan, I was holding my breath!  Congratulations on making it to the finale!

Thank you!!!!! Haha trust me I felt the same way watching it.  It definitely was a tough episode for me.  Not sure if you can tell but I do a lot for my team and for the display which doesn't allow me to focus just on sugar work but everything else.  Overall at the end I loved our piece and thought the story shined very much so.  Curious to hear everyone's thoughts and no need to sugar coat it.  I can take it 😁

Same here! I said "NOOOO don't send Snow Good home!"

Jonathan, I thought Shellington was such a cute idea; wish you'd had more time to refine him.

Ahh thank you!  I tried my best given the circumstances but ya... I really needed to have taken something off my list or made him a priority.

I thought the design of the target on the ground was really inventive.  But I did notice the stick was missing a broom!

Ahhhh lol I said that after watching it.  It didn't even click till after. 😅😅

I was too although I thought everything was good except the poor turtle.  I was very relieved when the judges made the right decision.  I'm sure I'll be a nervous wreck next week even though I know that whatever happens actually happened months ago.

That is exactly what I was thinking when watching the show.  You are SUCH a good team player that your sugar suffered for it, so happy to see you move on though!

How did the team that lost get dinged on negative space, but the team that won didn’t?  Their backdrops were so similar.  I thought even with the wonky turtle Snow Good should have placed first.

LOL yes, I guess you kinda relive it.

Will you be on any more shows coming up after this one?

Oops, editing because I thought Jonathan wrote this haha!

I see you've answered my question below.

I don't understand the judges' criticism of the snowball fight saying there were too many characters. It's a snowball fight, you want a big team. The sugar snowman ref was the focal point, in my opinion. The ice skaters weren't interacting and didn't show movement. I thought they should have gone home but maybe Danielle's cake saved them. I liked the curling idea. Yeah, the stick needed a broom.

Lol I relive every episode always haha and at the moment no shows in the works but I get called all the time.  It's tough owning a business and leaving to film these shows especially since you are gone for such long periods of time.

I definitely agree now looking back... I guess it just slipped our minds.

Cool - I'll keep checking for any announcement of new shows. That's a good sign that you get called all the time!

Yes, owning & running a business is hard enough, so I can imagine it can be nerve-wracking having to leave it to do these shows.

It must be fun and interesting to see how they've edited all that footage!

Another question: When they have to replace a team member during filming, like what happened to your team, do they cast extras (like an understudy in a play) who can step in if needed? Otherwise, I don't know how they could find someone so quickly since they need to keep to the production schedule.

Ya..... Chrissy got sick and wasn't feeling well.  Most shows have alternates on stand by for instances like this.  Sometimes they are local or are flown in for a little bit during filming.

If you actually pay attention to the very first episode when they show all 9 teams you will notice I had a different cake artist lol 😆

Hurray!!!  The right team won!  Congratulations, Jonathan!  I thought your team was doing the best all through the show but the judges have fooled me before so I was still holding my breath while waiting for the decision.  I especially loved the spider.

Thank you so so so very much!  I finally have a win!!  This was my fifth show I've done and the 4 shows before this all resulted in 2nd place finishes so this felt really good.  I appreciate all of you so very much for the support!  Means the world!

Huge congratulations -- we were hoping for you!  After all of the hard work, this is a gratifying win!!  Have a wonderful holiday season and it's been so fun hearing from you!
