  1. I thought Hannibal's mask looked kind of like a cartoon cat face and tweeted a "slight" edit to highlight this. Then Bryan Fuller saw it. Now I like to think my terrible picture is part of his memory palace.
  2. During the self-fight scene, NBC tweeted something like Francis was taking a game of "stop hitting yourself" too seriously. I almost replied he should be hitting NBC for canceling the show.
  3. I think part of the reason I'm not feeling the Red Dragon story is that I feel like they already went there with the Randall Tier story in season 2. Guy "evolving" into some "higher/true" self, savaging people, being advised by Hannibal and sent to Will's home. That story moved faster and the focus was more on Hannibal and Will, who are the ones I find interesting in this series. All the focus on Francis and Reba, I just can't get into them much.
  4. I think she meant she saw one of Freddie's articles/pictures of Will. He's seeing her through the Red Dragon's eyes, is what I was assuming. A couple of episodes ago, he had that sweaty nightmare about standing over her corpse as if he'd killed her himself.
  5. I got the impression Hannibal was trying to kill only Molly and the kid. "They're not my family," he says, after having called Will his family during a previous meeting. I think he's trying to strip Will's family from him. He seemed so miffed that Will got himself a new spouse and child. Leading up to that, where will asks Hannibal, "You're willing to let a family die?" Why is he surprised by that? Is it because children are involved and he didn't realize Hannibal's disregard for human life extends to children?
  6. I think the teeth have some kind of significance, symbolically, that's explained in the book but not so much here. That's what I gather from some discussion I've seen about the book, having not read it myself. Hannibal should have told Francis to not even bother with the dogs. They're the friendliest bunch around. "Crazed killer? Come on in! Did you bring us any human cheek meat treats?" I feel bad for the poor guy who just happened to be driving by when Molly needed a car. Oh and I like the kid. He essentially gave Will the same advice Bedelia did, but in a much less creepy way.
  7. I hadn't really realized the size difference between Hugh Dancy and Richard Armitage until I saw this picture. http://bonearenaofmyskull.tumblr.com/post/126666764624 (Not my blog) Suddenly, Will getting tossed around like a grocery bag in an updraft makes a little more sense.
  8. Francis saying Will wasn't very handsome. Good God, man! How high are your standards?! Also, is taking Hannibal's toilet away really a punishment for him? Isn't it really more of a punishment for the poor orderly that has to pick up and dispose of his poop bucket?
  9. Do you suppose Hannibal paused for a moment before eating his first person? (I guess his sister.) Like, did he think, "No, I can't possibly become a cannibal. It rhymes with my name. It's much too on-the-nose!" And his weird cell arrangement. He has a toilet in there, as per Alana's speech. What about a shower? Do they have to wheel him out in chains a couple of times a week for a cleaning in the hospital washroom? What a nerve-wracking experience that must be for his handlers.
  10. Yeah, the place where Eph gets his fake IDs made.
  11. Every time they show Hannibal using those pencils, I think it seems awfully risky to give him anything like that. Like, fine, give him something to draw with, but maybe some little nubbin size pencils, rather than stabbing length pencils.
  12. They made an edible painting out of rice paper for Armitage to eat, but he also ate a regular paper one, too: http://janicepoonart.blogspot.com/2015/08/episode-10-woman-clothed-in-sun.html
  13. If Justine's been using the 72-hour quarantine method to figure out who's infected, then how has she been able to determine that Staten Island is a "plague free zone"? People were crossing over on the ferry without waiting 72 hours to disembark.
  14. Oh jeez when Fet did that I wanted to slap him upside his meticulously dyed head. Sure, just stick your eye in a hole when you know there are vampires on the other side! *slap* I wonder how Zach has a Bolivar poster in his room? It's Fet's place, right? So either Zach brought it with him, picked it up on one of his forbidden excursions, or Fet is secretly a fan.
  15. So, the curfew doesn't apply to wealthy people. Or any people who have to serve the wealthy people at restaurants. Or anybody who just wants to ignore the curfew, really. Good to know gay bars are still open in the vampire apocalypse! So Palmer's assistant was momentarily taken aback when he made a joke about the burning building, but then decides to have a dance with him. I really hope she's got some kind of plan up her sleeve and is playing him for some reason.
  16. Thanks for the explanation about the similar titles. I've been so used to this show having food-related titles. I snickered at Hannibal speaking the phone number. To get around the old "555" used in TV land, he uses the letters. It's like it was momentarily 1955 again or something. I wonder what they had Hugh Dancy standing on so that Will's reflection in the partition matched Hannibal's? When Bedelia said they'd both been Hannibal's brides, I was hoping Will would correct her. Ah ah, no I was his murder husband.
  17. Knowing some of the book stuff now, his eating the art made more sense. Plus, when he was making that call to Hannibal, he watched it like an outsider. It's like he's not just becoming the dragon, but seeing it as a separate entity from himself, at times. Then when he ran up to the attic after he couldn't find Reba, as if he expected to find the dragon had taken her there.
  18. I wish they had made it evident or at least hinted that the reason D ate the painting was because he was trying to stop killing. He's assigned great significance to that illustration and thinks destroying it will destroy the root of his transformation. It would also explain why he was more than a bit careless. He was desperate to stop himself hurting his new girlfriend. But what I got instead was that he, like some kind of murderous Cookie Monster, just had to OM NOM NOM NOM the source of his obsession. Where Hannibal ate his sister, D eats the painting.
  19. I thought Reba making them cocktails in his house seemed weird. At first I thought they were at her place. About Francis getting the art. In the book, what's his thought process? How did he plan to do that without getting caught? Or was eating the painting kind of a spur-of-the-moment thing? He was seen by multiple people. He has a very distinctive look. They'd be able to describe him to police even if, much like with Hannibal's cell, there's an inexplicable lack of surveillance.
  20. Alex makes everyone more boring. I'm a little confused about the angel stuff. Noma was so disgusted by the lower angel trying to possess her. Is that her own body or is she possessing a human body herself? Do all the higher angels have their own bodies? Like, Alex couldn't "evict" Noma or Gabriel or Michael if he wanted to? Anyway, I'm disappointed we didn't get to see Michael strutting about in this sweater, which I like to imagine he crocheted himself in his downtime. https://twitter.com/VaunWilmott/status/629464749311311872 Maybe it will happen in a future episode.
  21. How does Francis even have access to that tiger? And then the vet just leaves the two of them alone while the tiger is anesthetized? I mean, as a date, that certainly would have worked on me, but it just seems so weird and random. Did he lie about his credentials like he did with the museum? Speaking of which. All the grisly murders on the show and I haven't had to watch through my fingers. But Francis devouring the art? AAAAAH! Stop! Stopppp! Noooo! I almost fainted. You'd think there would be dedicated security cameras around Hannibal's lair. He's an evil super-genius. They should be keeping eyes on him all the time.
  22. Damn, I thought Will and Bedelia were going to cat fight over who was the better "bride" to Hannibal. Also, why did these two episodes have such similar titles?
  23. I'm still wondering if he ever got his boat back from Italy. And did anyone ever find his dragonfly sculpture at Lectervania Castle? He put a lot of work into that thing to have it go unrecognized.
  24. I guess HGTV isn't going to take my suggestion to adopt Hannibal there. Will and Hannibal coming up with homemade crafts and elaborate dinner parties? It's a winning combination! Sure, the crafts involve human corpses and the dinners involve human corpses.
