  1. There is little to no chance that either Drew or Curtis will ever RUIN this show the way that St. Jason did. Jason failed to protect his bride on his wedding night. He constantly enabled Carly and Sonny into reaching the ultimate in mean thugs and town bullies over every inch of Port Charles for decades. One of the best things about GH these days, is NOT to have to watch St. Jason. He was a vile and violent thug. Use the police force or WSB to take down criminals - there are plenty of available to get the 'win'. Sbu needs to never be shown to the door back to GH - and 'never' would be too soon. It seemed so out of character for Ava to push this action onto Nina. It makes absolutely no sense for Nina who is dating a violent criminal to narc on someone. Nina handled the chapel scene with Sonny and Michael with superhuman grace. It makes no sense for her to attack her daughter's husband while her daughter is on her death bed and her grandchildren would be left without both parents. So I guess, to make this character more of a pariah, Nina will be having some loose lips. Even Liesl would not approve.
  2. It is striking how much more alert/engaged she seems than when she was paired with Dante than Jason. But jeesh - enough with the kissing in seemingly every single episode that both characters appear in. The only positive thing about Carly these days, is making me appreciate and enjoy episodes - like Friday's episode - that she doesn't infect. I was hoping that Drew and Curtis would go over better if they were involved in some 'action' scenes. That hope has been dashed. DT/Billy Miller had some needed chemistry that DT/CM lack. Perhaps, DT can shine in the upcoming club/mob plot. That character has undergone a carlyesque downfall and Brook Kerr - imho - isn't giving him much to work with in their scenes - more importantly - neither are the writers. On the other hand, there has been nothing in CM's performances or interactions with other characters that I have seen to even warrant a 'hope' that he can turn it around. Both actors need to dial it down a notch. ymmv.
  3. Professor Google taught me that insider trading also applies to private companies so fingers are crossed.
  4. Aren't the grandchildren visitation rights scenes more compelling to watch than those scenes where a villain poised to destroy half of the this planet's population (with cute scene-stealing baby)? All I could think was if only that fire was real and a stiff breeze came through... . Hoping (against hope) that somehow Maura West and Jane Elliot are able to share some scenes in the future.
  5. It was a good episode in parts. Robert is back to his old curmudgeonly self and the Felicia/Holly scenes were fun to watch. Those seemed like real bodyguards. The props and set in Alexis' office was more interesting to look at than the stilted conversation between Alexis and Gregory. Didn't Willow recently ask Carly to be her maid-of-honor/give her away? At least there is not going to be an bachelor party.
  6. I have no idea. I think that Maxie is overused. When I started rewatching around 2010 - she was OK as a sidekick to JMB. I cringe watch scenes with Maxie and Spinelli and that Levi plot was painful to watch. However, the actress has been putting out the best performance in her age group lately and has matured into a solid soap actress. I have never liked the character and I don't know if that is because I don't like KS. While I get that comments about looks/styles/hair are appropriate for this message board, I get a level of unease of seeing the frequency of them w/r/t KS. And all the more striking because - I really would like to see the character on less. But this is one very minor gripe for this board which has been quite a respite - especially during this plague the past three years.
  7. The character comes across well in small doses and as a side-kick (e.g., Robin/oldLulu). She has been doing heavy-duty lifting for the past five years in most of her scenes with the Michael/Willow/Sasha/Chase generation. The weight gain and her appearance - ymmv - is window-dressing compared to the severe generational problem resulting with an entire generation being sacrificed at the Sonny/Jason/Carly alter. Everything (writing, acting, directing - etc)in the Michael/Willow dying plot is not functioning. They are progressing in the correct direction but there is still some room for growth (e.g., clunkiness/pregnant pauses). I am glad that there are people who enjoy Spencer and nuTrina but they are sort of like the Robert/Holly to the OG Trina/Cam that I had high hopes/patience for. It sure is startling to see veteran MB stumble through a couple of lines of dialogue and the next scene see two novices nail a scene. I hope that the props/set folks have been nominated for a daytime emmy.
  8. The writers seem to want a romantic slightly big wedding instead of just eloping in a quickie ceremony in front of a judge in the living room At least finish it up before Tracy arrives next week.
  9. TR's performance in yesterday's episode - especially that smirk right after he heard Diane say 'Sonny' to her phone felt like the old Robert Scorpio is back. I would prefer to watch Robert Scorpio trade barbs with Diane (preferably Tracy) than Olivia. I thought that CW was far and wide the winner for the NB's contest for best gown. She has been 'sparkling' lately. It has taken years for me not to rue the day that this 'new' character landed in Port Charles.
  10. A pool is just what the headwriters were missing! This was a very nice touch by TPTB. There would never have been a 'Laura' character without a 'Bobbie' character.
  11. Rick Springfield in his first stint at GH was the warm-up to Jack Wagner/Frisco. Just looked up his second trip to Port Charles and I can see where that irritation comes from. Matt and Steven - Doctors still in jail while the FV/TPTB try to make us root for criminals (and their ilk/supporters). This viewer would rather watch doctors/nurses trying to save others than mob thugs destroy/maim - especially with no repercussions - even to their reputations. It works now because the actors playing the 'good' (Scorpios, Dante, Laura) side of the law enforcement are competent actors to rise above the writing. But the writing/directing/editing has gone downhill of late so it is more interesting to watch on another meta-level.
  12. What a cliffhanger! Joss at Liesl's door. Bunch of flowers in one hand and knocking the door with the other.* *april fools 🙃
  13. Selena's bodyguard - Li - threw some marvelous shade at plywood and Sonny. It would be nice to see more of Li - and Selena - more frequently.
  14. Did I fast-forward through a scene that explained the letter that was given to Esme at the facility? TIA. Or is it like the letter that Luke gave to Laura during his last appearance (y'all will correct me if those two weren't the ones) or one-of-liz's kids - Aiden - who was heading towards a hobby of playing with fires. Can you imagine what a blast that would have been to watch. I am sure that the company men put their foot down for the arson story line but they have failed to notice their feet nearly buried with decades worth of spent cartridges continually breezing through their product these past two decades.
  15. Maybe instead of the writers having to continually either pump-up or make-disappear the shameless antics of the Carly crew, they could have devoted a plot or two involving General Hospital. How about a plot where a nurse seems to keep finding and fixing doctors' mistakes? And/or one where a nurse has a photographic mind and is brilliant but it was nearly impossible for her to become a doctor at the time due to her race and gender. But the hospital's precedence and prominence these past decades takes a distant second place to the Sonny and Carly show. Disappointed with the absence of Salina's cute, really tall Asian bodyguard. sigh.
  16. Has there been a DNA test? Can't they just say that they miscalculated the time of inception of ACE and have Spencer be Ace's dad? Spencer behaved yesterday like he belonged as an inmate at the facility. Laura should have been on him immediately to tone it down - especially in front of Ace. There is a wide gulf between acting like an entitled brat and shrieking like a manic-Morgan. NC is also growing from a teenager into a man. Still think that he has a bunch of talent, and that being around GF and CS will help him work on bringing him along - to include developing some more nuances. Between those two and Alexis/Finn's Dad - it seems like FV needs a chemistry whisperer cause his current one needs to get tossed. The only thing that I could focus on in Brooklyn and Chase's scenes was her living quarters. Wouldn't have pegged her hanging a large painting of a crane on her wall. It was more interesting in trying to figure out how the camera angles affected the shadows that the lamps were displaying - than trying to dismiss the lack of chemistry between Chase/Brooklyn - especially in comparison to chemistry on display in the previous episode scenes between Chase/Willow.
  17. As someone who could not stand Sonny this past decade, I would say that he has been rehabilitated in this viewers eyes. LW was a factor as was the rage that the towns folk accepted. Sometimes it is the little things like Dante pointing out that Sonny stopped drinking (or drinking as much). That is something I have noticed for the past month and I am guessing/hoping that this was something that MB suggested. IRL he has discussed his bipolar issues and mixing alcohol with meds is not a good message as a role model (neither is being a mobster but I seem to be in the minority these days in believing that violent criminals belong locked up behind bars and not rewarded, presented in a positive light, or provided compensation for their destructive actions). Good lord knows it went on for way too long, but the Nixon Falls break was a solid way to redeem/reform his character (but the 'abused as a kid' and being there for his father dying fell flat). Lengthy dialogue is not his forte yet today's hug with Dante felt real and warm. I am all in for a Drew reclamation. He seemed to perform his prisoner and action scenes ok when he started. I am looking forward to watching him far far away from Carly and Michael. Then again, perhaps Willow would fare much better with Chase as I had not seen her so happy as she was today. Why did they ever split up that couple? And of course, she also would benefit being far far away from Carly and Michael. Sensing a pattern here.
  18. Brooklyn looked sharp today and struck the right chord with Willow and Michael until she descended into her Chase infatuation. She better be sharp - Tracy will soon be on (but not soon enough). This sudden changing of Joss and Michaels' attitudes towards Sonny's criminal lifestyle seems to be more about them disapproving their father's partner. I mean if there was an event that precipitated the change, it might make sense. I hate the mob and wish that the show focused on the hospital. I am thrilled that Carson is in the rear view mirror. So it is great that two characters with tons of screen time say bad things about mob life. But hating Nina seems much more important than hating the mob lifestyle for these two. Can't get any satisfaction from this show. Crumbs - like cutie Donna giving a great big hug to Nina in front of Carly. Not exactly a big payoff but it's better than Carly and business partner giving nasty looks to Valentin instead of being glad that he wasn't killed or murder. CW was delightful today as those tears did not hide the the joy of the possibility of more more tea/martini time with Maura instead of helping MB stumble through his lines. Maybe she can work her charm on Curtis. I will pull up a seat for one, but I enjoyed Barbara Jean's long-overdue scene with Victor about Luke's 'death'. It's a nice change for her to deliver lines other than how awesome her daughter is.
  19. These two are not generating much of anything on screen. Even this episode, replete with a medical crisis, dragged. There always seems to be one too many repetitive scenes in each of their episodes. The only potentially interesting thing about this story is whether he dies naturally or he dies by toxin
  20. If only Aunt Ruby was around. Back then, Aunt Ruby would whip Bobbie and Luke back into shape (only effective for a short while) when they acted out.
  21. For this viewer the dice are still spinning. He plays being depressed pretty good. Perhaps - something BTS (e.g., covid, britt's departure, real life tragedy with KW) caused a plot change which was more than our crack writers could handle leaving Josh Bell to play a depressed guy - in most of his scenes. Plus he is nice to look at (Jimmy Lee Holt was quite easy on the eyes). Most of his scenes have been with Dante who lights up the screen no matter who is his scene partner. He has had smooth scenes with Mac, Sam, and Sasha. He can also hang with the gangsta lady and Curtis. As far as the Mac is his daddy reveal is headed, this viewer is cutting a lot of slack for the actors. 'Reveals' recently have not only been poorly executed, the actual 'reveal' has either been edited out (see. Willow's donor reveal - phone call cut-off), and/or the story has been dragged out that a character is saying the same lines for SIX months (see. Jordan). Some of his scenes with Mac have been enjoyable and seem to flow between the two actors. However, admittedly - some of the scenes come out clunky. But if the actors can overcome the writing - and they have the capability - imho - then Mac\Cody\Dante\Sam\TJ\Sasha might become something more than a nice reprieve from Carly and Sonny. JMB returning as lulu would be icing on the cake. ***I have never watched the actor before so if acting depressed is the only tool in his acting shtick - then yeah - another disappointment in the (Michael, Chase, TJ, Spinelli) age group.
  22. Aurora is a public company. ELQ is not. Both are regulated but public companies are supposed to have more transparency and have reporting requirements. Wouldn't shareholders notice in either the 8Ks (quarterly reports) or in the annual report the selling off of assets? The CEO has a responsibility to report significant matters to the Board of Directors and to report those matters (provided they pass some theshold - which selling tons of Aurora assets would qualify) to the SEC. But if he reported it to the BOD and to the SEC he should be OK. Plus a bribe will probably be offered - in addition to the insider-training. Very happy to see Moss back and there were lovely flowers on the table in the Bobby/carly jr scenes. Also a nice touch was the little bit of snow on the ledge of the window and also a thin layer of snow on the leaves outside. I guess if they are looking for a landing spot for Carly, I would rather her screen time take place at general hospital. LW looked a bit uncomfortable in her scenes with BH but they both are troopers and solid actresses. LW could breath some life into that under-served location. Ava and Nina's 'tea-time' discussions were quite enjoyable to listen in on - and surprisingly for more than one episode. The scenes were much smoother than those thugs shooting at each other in a public place. It's a shame that this soap wastes so much time trying to make miserable characters into half-decent humans.
  23. And moss was missing in action. ETA: see. @Mbluecpa - I fell asleep during the Curtis/ Portia reveal. So when y'all said that you fell asleep, I figured it was a going to be a boring ep. I was prepared to be lulled to sleep. Not so. Even enjoyed the Cody and Mac scenes. The two actors have a nice vibe together. And LOL at that horse being so close to the actors. The horse's head made it into the camera shot a couple of times. Obviously had to ff'd through the Carly's, that stuff is as aforementioned - 🤢. Good grief GH. You have two cute fit actors who shine when they go on adventures. Curtis and Drew seem to be real bored with their story lines and both actors are unable to keep their hands still at times. I am not talking about an acting tic like MB rubbing his chin or Drew doing his exaggerated Tony Robbins spiel. Sonny in a rage against a woman is never a good look. Happy Womenz Month! I miss Cam already. Sydney and WL really helped make watching EM more bearable. It appears that both actors no longer wanted to work on the show so I only wish the best for both of the kids but hope they return one day. I have faith that GF and MW will help Spencer and Trina really hold their own but in the meantime. . . Dex just is not fluid enough. I honestly can't remember another actor that had left me thinking that MB turned in a better performance than his scenery partner. Maybe Mo will take him under his wing. Then again, things can always get worse. Sad to see Mob Sonny back. So my rage meter was going off the charts with Drew by the end of the episode. He had the nerve to lecture Ned about the importance of Quartermaine family unity. He just left Carly's place. Fresh from sleeping with a woman who was married at the time to a cold blooded murderer who cut short what should have been a strong and sturdy branch of the Quartermaine family - AJ Quartermine.
  24. There have been some mighty big changes in the past couple of years in Port Charles each weekday. The departure of Jason and the break-up of Carly and Sonny forced FV's hand to see what he could do with the rest of the cast. Cam and Trina (Sidney) looked like the answer to lead the younger generation. Gosh Darn It. Willow, Sasha, Maxie, Brooklyn, all have been through lackluster pregnancies and romances. I enjoy watching Dante and Kristina so I am glad that the the coven is back and hopefully - Jane Elliot will make Millow/Brooklyn/Cody more entertaining to watch like NLG has done for the coven. Spencer is becoming Morgan-like and needs to tone it down and nuTrina isn't doing it for me. But what doesn't drag this soap down are the veterans. It doesn't make a difference about the directing, writing, editing because these guys are professionals that are able to rise above the drudge. This viewer isn't paying attention to the fabric of a couch, title of a book, or a bowl of moss when Laura and Maura grace the screen. They gave Jane Elliot during one of her returns a story about a condiment (relish) and the actress was able to make it even more entertaining to watch than a mob shoot out or pregnancy.
  25. My bad. I watch with closed-captioning so i might have missed that line. That elevator scene was pretty intense and well executed. There is some serious talent on this show (from the more older and established portion of the cast). That elevator scene was my favorite scene this year but MW wailing at Nik recently was a close second.
