Funny115: The editors wreck Philip. And count me in as being REALLY annoyed by him. Wasn't "The Challenge From Hell" the one in S16 where Penner had to leave the game, and Joel almost killed Chad by dragging him everywhere?

Well, Legends of Tomorrow returns to its proper place in the Arrowverse (Flashverse?): holding the final part of the massive crossover. That would have been the case last time with "Elseworlds," but Constantine had to try and save his lover, and we wound up with Puppet Legends. Good times. So, apparently, this isn't like the COIE comic, in the sense that there's still a multiverse. Those Earths are populated by DC's subscription shows. Also, seeing Earth-12 . . . how hilarious would it be if the DCEU wasn't in the new paradigm, but the Green Lantern movie was? It was like Charlie Brown's Christmas tree . . . it just needed love and attention. Now? It's a punchline. And it wouldn't be a LoT episode without everyone pausing on freaking about about the status quo in order to deal with a rampaging Beebo. I feel bad for viewers who never watched LoT, because Beebo must be the biggest headache to deal with. But it turned out to be a distraction from Sargon the Sorcerer. Because why not? I reckon Earth-Prime can work . . . as long as you can accept a Lex Luthor running the DEO and being popular. And Freeland, period. I mean, Jefferson Pierce probably needed "super friends" more than anyone involved. Imagine the Paragons hearing about Freeland. "Oh, that's the city down South where the military has closed the borders due to central European invaders, and the populace gets smacked around on the regular." Mick not being able to use his flame gun is the new Constantine being unable to smoke. At least he's a famous writer now! And he didn't even need Charlie as a stand-in. Fun final battle, with Anti-Monitor suffering permanent shrinkage. On the other hand, we get to see people shoot at him. That's about as effective as officers firing at Beebo. The ending was funny . . . they're not a Justice League. They're Super Friends! And that works so much better, even if they didn't toss in the promise of a blue alien monkey running around. BTW, Wonder Twins is a miniseries currently running under DC Comics' "Wonder Comics" line. Mark Russell does great social commentary there. And I wound up getting this sketch of Gleek from series artist Stephen Byrne at New York Comic Con. Now . . . when does he team up with Grodd? I'm a happy gleek geek.

I'm a bit confused. I thought this was the final Arrow. But there's an episode next week, and it looks to be the backdoor pilot for Mia and her gang. I don't think Spectre works on TV. I think to get the full effect, you'd need IMAX. Read Kingdom Come . . . that's the big guy in the green robe I'd want. Oliver Queen as Spectre is like Hal Jordan as Spectre in the comics before he was resurrected . . . it looks good on paper,but the execution is lacking My idea of a proper end? In the original COIE, the Superman of Earth-2 was about to within one final destructive wave from a defeated Anti-Monitor. But then Alexander Luthor (son of good guy Lex Luthor of Earth-3) opened up a portal when they could live in peace, along with the Lois Lane of Earth-2 and Superboy of Earth-Prime. That was nice . . . at least if you ignore Infinite Crisis. Just have Ollie and Felicity in their own place, having earned their rest. Despite having no powers (yet) and no experience, Ryan Choi took to this episode like a duck to water. I'm happy for the guy. Didn't know that was Ezra Miller as DCEU Flash until others recognized him. I feel bad for the kid . . . his Barry is also a well-meaning putz, but the odds of him getting a solo movie are so slim right now. I reckon the DCEU could have existed in the Arrowverse Multiverse . . . and that could still be the case. Who would have guessed the TV heroes would look better? I mean, Gal Gadot has killed it, and we got decent interpretations of Aquaman and Shazam, but the first movies have hobbled it from the start. On the other hand . . . possibility of a teamup between . . . how about Ray Palmer and Billy Batson? Putz Overload. Flashbacks were pretty good. If you're a recent convert, read the forums of S3 Arrow. We were hating Ray Palmer back then. Now he's the lovable goofball of the Waverider. But back then, most of us would've killed him to get Felicity back with Ollie. And yes, in that same season, the writers thought it would be a great idea for Sara to die in the most punk-ass/lame-ass way possible, with Laurel filling her place as Black Canary. Great to see Lex look out for himself. I still feel John Cryer's unambiguous portrayal is better than Michael Rosenbaum's Lex forever teetering on the fence between good and evil. If only he knew of the Multiverse. He could have bonded about father issues with Dr. Sivana. Off to LoT!
