S07.E15: Chocolate Does A Body Good
drivethroo replied to cooksdelight's topic in The Real Housewives Of Atlanta
Does Kandi want to have sex because she wants to feel closer to Todd and connect? Or because she needs a stud so she can get her baby? Because that could also be a reason he's really not trying to get into her pants and using every excuse in the book not to go there. I take the bonnet/Rihanna statements as a frustration that Kandi's not wanting to gave sex with him for him, but let's go on 'head, pump 1 2 3 4 and make this baby. She's not making an effort...she probably figures she doesn't need to, they're married, AINT they? Todd could also feel that once Kandi has the baby, there's no need for him anymore, so she could kick him to the and still want him to pony up for child support. I doubt he's trying to get into all that. Kandi wants a stud & a sugar baby. She's not getting what she paid for. Let me remind everyone that Cynthia is the one who got the Pillow Talk shambles going last year, for trying to dig up dirt on Todd's opportunism by playing runteldat with what Natalie & Christopher Williams told them. ETA: Kandi probably comes to bed looking like the mom off the Berenstain Bears series. I think the bonnet signifies not putting in any effort. Kandi does not appear to be putting in any effort in her end (shutting down Joyce, Don Juan, Carmon, etc; disrespecting Sharon) and the bonnet symbolizes that. -

Many black women wear a hair bonnet when they go to bed because a lot of the pillowcases etc dry out/frizz up the hair. It's not a sexy look. But, most black men know this and deal with it. Todd's probably tired of Kandi letting peons like Don Juan run over him. But if he checked DJ Kandi would whine about it. That's not hot. Kandi's distanced herself from Phaedra because Phaedra is shady. The end. Peter told Cynthia NOT to RunTelDat about Chocolate and she did it anyway so don't feel sorry for her and her aftermath. Kenya should've kept quiet. It's a sad say when Nene is the voice of reason. A broken clock is right twice a day, though.- 179 replies

Boo Boo wanted Elle cut from the roster. So did Luscious & everyone else. Cookie was Elle's only ally. So drugging Elle not only makes Cookie look bad, it gets rid of Elle again. Which is what Boo Boo wanted all along.

The big girl is Mary Jane's niece and that was real nasty of her to rifle through Mary Jane's drawer and watch her surveillance videos. Another thing: Niecy claimed to want to go to nursing school but was not trying to give Mary Jane the hormone injection. Speaking of which, where did Cut Buddy come from? I hope Mary Jane doesn't end up pregnant, and from what it looks like, jobless.

I don't fully trust Security Guy. Malik Yoba was crusty back in the 90s. Read up on comments about his perpetually ashy lips. I think Cookie has a problem with Anika because her blood, sweat & tears built the Empire Boo Boo Kitty is luxuriating from. Olivia may or may not be Luscious or Jamal's baby momma. But I wouldn't be surprised if Luscious called her in at this moment to get the rumors out there that Jamal has a baby momma (and thus is straight).

Thicker Than Water - General Discussion
drivethroo replied to Meredith Quill's topic in Thicker Than Water
Cyrene's family is all about patriarchy so they're not going to advocate any differently and they're certainly not going to advocate exploring herself or her sexuality. If she's not clear about what she wants to do sexually, there is no harm and no consequences in NOT having sex. Last season, Benji & Shanira alluded to the fact they got married because Shanira got pregnant. Even though they lost the baby, they decided to stay together and have a big ceremony. I'm pretty sure Ben did buy the wedding rings; Benji had no money. That's why they were living with Ben & Jewel. Brooklyn is about 29 years old and Diamond is 14. That means Brooklyn had her around 15 years old. If Ben was calling Cyrene's making out "skank like" he may have had some choice words for Brooklyn...that is, if he was around to deliver them. -

As far as the family gatekeeping her virginity, Cyrene's virginity is a commodity in that they're supposed to be this religious family & they're making money telling other people how to live. So if Cyrene is out there sleeping with this or that person, that's damaging the brand & image the family is trying to build now. Ben wasn't calling Benji (who married Shanira b/c she got pregnant), Marcus or Brooklyn's (who had a kid as a teenager) behavior skank-like because he was never around to do that. Back to Cyrene, she tells Ben she would only call somebody a boyfriend if she was serious about them, like on the road to marriage. That's fine. But then don't do boyfriend/girlfriend-like activities with someone you're not serious with (and with someone who is not serious about YOU). I think that's the point Ben was trying to make but failed at doing. That little boy is not serious about Cyrene, he just wants to feel some booty and get on TV. He will be like Cyrene Who? when he goes off to his college and starts macking on the sorority girls. Cyrene needs to clarify within herself whether or not she wants to remain a virgin until marriage and whether she wants to be a virgin until marriage for herself or for her family (hint: she needs to do it for herself!). Cyrene's not clear on what she wants to do and all her hormones are jumping, which can make her an easy mark for some guy with an agenda. -
S07.E13: The Countdown Begins
drivethroo replied to Tara Ariano's topic in The Real Housewives Of Atlanta
I don't think Claudia was trying to get Porsha fired, but she was not there for Porsha and Porsha knew it. So as much as I like Claudia, Porsha did right by shutting her down. Claudia was there for Claudia, not Porsha. All of the women on this show are passive aggressive, and pretend to be a victim of the situations they provoked in the first place. Neither Nene nor Kenya are just some fun time girls who were minding their business when the big bad Whoever came and attacked them for no good reason. Both of them provoke situations and sit back and cry they were victimized by the situations they provoked in the first place. Nene doesn't like to confront people about her issues. She will talk about them & make snide remarks but she's not going to pull somebody to the side and say "What's your deal?" She WILL use her size & mouth against you if you come for her but most of the time when people are coming for her, its because of something she's said or done on the low (and Kenya does the same thing ---game recognizes game). And all of these Cynthia / Nene / Kenya / Porsha / Claudia / Phaedra situations this season are coming out of the fact that two passive aggressive people named Nene & Kenya refuse to straight up fight and get it out of their systems or mutually decide to leave each other alone. But that's not going to happen because then who would be the victim? -

I think Ben should not have used the word skank but Cyrene was so offended by it because that's how she was acting. That kid only wants to get on TV, he's not that into her and she's doing girlfriend/boyfriend activities with someone who won't claim her. Phaedra is the LAST person to get values lessons from. -

Todd got his show on the air. Just sayin'. I don't think Todd was sitting quiet because he knew he was wrong or he knew he failed. He was getting ready to go off, and trying not to while Don Juan, Carmon & the other guy were cackling and high fiving. Porsha was in the right at the party; Claudia SHOULDNT have come, but since she did, she should've just said hey to Porsha, made sure Rickey Smiley & Gary With The Tea saw her, and left. Porsha did right by getting up and walking away. -
S02.E01: People In Glass Houses Shouldn't Throw Fish

Maybe Mary Jane threw the fish out because she was tired of taking care of it/having something always dependent on her? -

Mary Jane didn't have to do that fish like that. He had a cute house, though.- 25 replies

Thicker Than Water - General Discussion

I'm thinking Marcus' mother wasn't in the picture very much because he said he called his grandmother and his grandmother came and snatched him up from the abuse. He told Britney the abuse they (3 Bs) suffered during summers & vacations, he suffered all the time. I think he mentioned on his first episode he came to live with Ben around his teen/tween years. If Marcus' mother was in the picture, it seems like he would've called HER for help instead of his grandmother who lived 6 hours away. I think we saw the 3Bs' mother in the season finale last year when Benji & Shanira got (re)married. -
<quote> Wait, I'm confused. What daddy tried to screw Rick's wife? Ridge isn't Rick's dad, Eric is ... correct? <\quote> Ridge was a father figure to Rick and Bridget when he was married to Brooke. He's been an off and on stepfather to Brooke's kids. Neither Brooke nor Ridge have any concepts of boundaries, which is why it's easy for them to sleep with their kids' and parents' partners.

S07.E12: Beauties In The Fast Lane
drivethroo replied to Tara Ariano's topic in The Real Housewives Of Atlanta
I don't take entreaties to "be professional" and "act mature" on these shows seriously because if the cast members did that, there would be no show. Then we'd be complaining the cast members are boring. Can't win. We want to see the fights and the ratchetness. We just don't like it when our faves are at the losing end of things. Being compelled to "bring it" by production is why Kenya is twirling out of a sunroof & mooning people and Phaedra is going after Demetria and Mama Joyce is hurling shoes etc. Perhaps if production didn't compel cast members to "bring it" things would be more organic and fun. -
Blood, Sweat & Heels - General Discussion

Yes, Demetria has had her own thing and good for her. Doesn't mean she wasn't sniffing Brie's ass by putting on airs like she was "Our Kind of People" like Brie, and looking down on Melyssa (with the "my daddy pays my bills" talk) and Mica (who ironically is part of Our Kind of People). Doesn't matter if Brie & Demetria are on different career trajectories. It wouldn't be a bad thing if Demetria tried to come up in Brie's world...she should. But don't look down on others who are trying to come up as well, and I felt that was what Demetria was trying to do, especially with Melyssa. -
So Kenya posted an Instagram pic of a cease and desist letter Nene allegedly sent her to stop talking bad about her on the show, on the BRAVO blogs and elsewhere or else! If true, Nene needs to have a seat, with all the bad stuff she's said about other people. And if that's how Nene wants to play, Claudia needs to send her own cease & desist letter to Nene.

Not Brooke & Stephanie in the sense of Maya going after Brooke's man after Rick marries someone else. Just the rivalry. The true triangle of the show has/had always been Brooke/Ridge/Stephanie. I don't need or want Brooke doing half the stuff Stephanie did. But Stephanie did those things because she didn't think Brooke was good enough or the right person to be Ridge's wife. Brooke kinda has the same sentiment towards Maya with this "you're just a model" talk. Well Stephanie thought the same of her with the "you're just from the Valley" and "you're just the caterer's daughter" talk. It would just be interesting to me to see Brooke have the same "you're wrong for my son" feelings towards Maya, that Stephanie had for her.

I liked Brie, but she was too stuffy & prim for this show. So good luck to her, her child and baby daddy. Demetria was too busy sniffing up Brie's ass and looking down on others, so bye gurl I'm glad you gone. This means 2 of the 3 Prouds are gone, so I wonder if any new cast members will be brought on to be Geneva's crew. I'm just here for Mica's antics, anyway. -

I disagree, because I think by the time Nene called Peter the name, the friendship breakdown was well under way. I think on Cynthia's side, it started when Nene said Noelle was a ho in training, but for Nene's side it started before that because if Cynthia was Nene's sister so much, Nene wouldn't have said that about her friend's child. Especially since Nene's child has been in jail/court/rehab during 2014. I don't think Nene cared about Cynthia's feelings at the point of talking bad about Noelle/Cynthia's parenting, which leads me to believe Nene started breaking down on the friendship before that. Calling Peter the name just brought everything to a head. IMO, Nene didn't like Cynthia being cordial/friendly to Kenya and decided to back away from Cynthia and she backed away from Cynthia by lowkey insulting her/her family. To be fair, Cynthia was passive aggressive, too. If she said it was squashed, but then kept it going as the previous season aired, that was wrong. If it's over, it's over. The only way this situation between Nene & Cynthia will be resolved is if Cynthia finally gets it through her head that Nene does not want to rock with her anymore and move on Nene directly confronts KENYA because Kenya is at the root of the Nene/Cynthia fallout. That's why she kept complaining about KENYA to Gregg in the car even though Kenya pretty much kept her mouth shut except when she was talking to Porsha. But Nene doesn't like direct confrontation. She'll turn up if somebody comes for her but she's not going to go to somebody and say "Hey I have this problem with you, let's talk it out." And she's actually intimidated when somebody comes for her and demonstrates they are not afraid of her (Sheree, Marlo, Claudia). -

She sure did but however in Kenya's defense, PORSHA is the one who ran around last season inferring she was Kordell's beard and that Kordell was gay. I think if Kenya really thought Kordell was gay maybe she'd slide Brandon in there instead of Claudia? LOL -
Is RM wearing a bun? LMAO! I've heard that RM and JMc are less than 10 years apart so no wonder RM looks super old. Not that JMc looks super old but JMc wasn't portrayed as the pretty playboy, either. He was always portrayed as the older patriarch of the family. LOL @ Maya opening the door in Brooke's Bedroom. And at Brooke for recognizing her handiwork. Is Liam's first name wilLIAM? Because that's weird to have two children with the same first name (WILLiam --Katie's son with $Bill). Unless you're George Foreman, of course. I don't think it would be that awkward if there was ever a Ridge / Caroline 2.0 wedding with Karen sitting there, because Ridge had no chemistry whatsoever with Karen. I don't think RM has any right to dictate to the show if they recast Ridge or not, since he left on his own. Yes, Ridge was one of the original 4 characters but I never thought Ridge was unreplaceable. Stephanie is unreplaceable. Eric Sr. is unreplaceable. Even Brooke, I think, is unreplaceable. ALL of the Forrester children have been recast (Thorne, several times) so RM and his bun can go have a seat.
