  1. Tinashe isn't going to win no matter how well she comes across or how well she dances. TPTB put her in jeopardy in week 3. The earliest a winner was ever in jeopardy was Jennifer Grey week 6. Not to mention the women in general lately have been struggling and look at all the flack Laurie got during her season and how some say James still deserved it. We had a field day of female celeb winners from like seasons 15-21, but since then it's been a complete struggle for them to win or even make the top 2. Since season 22, only 3 women have made the top 2 and only one won, and this is already season 27.
  2. Jeopardy in week 3 is the kiss of death. No winner has been in jeopardy earlier than Week 6. We can hope she gets 3rd in the finals though, but with how the show treats women stars lately, I'm not so sure. Since season 23, only 2 women have been in the top 2.
  3. Tinashe is gonna smash this season. She's not coming out smug or anything either like some of the fans usually say for her singer types. Brandon is giving me Mark/Derek vibes. I really think she's a finalist for sure. I really wanna see Alexis' dance without the tutu issue. I think the 9 was to keep her safe, but she's a good dancer so I don't mind. Evanna is coming out of her shell and I love it. I'm excited to see her grow and maybe she can be Keo's first semi-finals or even finals partner. The boys weren't bad, but I found Juan Pablo and Milo a tad overscored. Bobby is already on my last nerve.
  4. Tinashe was good, but not like "look how much experience I have" good, a la Kristi or Alfonso. She could do well if she doesn't come off too cocky cause she's not stuck with someone like Val/Mark/Derek who would get the "ugh, they've won enough" stigma. Evanna got TOTALLY shafted. Her dance was really, really good. I hope she continues to get better scores and the HP fandom votes for her. Alexis might be a dark horse too cause while her type doesnt get votes from the demo, being good with a pro like Alan who people like and related the experience about her mom, could work for her. DeMarcus and Juan Pablo were not as good as I thought they'd be. The women stars continue to get nitpicked while the men got effort scoring, as per usual.
  5. Maybe more women won in total, but the last 3 have been won by men, with women getting slaughtered, the last 3 top two celebs have been male/male, male/female, male/male. Laurie won in fall 2016, and here we are in fall 2018 and it's been men dominating.
  6. I truly am so tired of football players. It's a guaranteed finals trip and a huge chance to win. They pretend to act surprised still 27 seasons later that they are good EVERY SINGLE TIME. Just do football players from now on, forget about even casting female stars. Lord knows it's been since season 23 since the last one won and here we are at season 27.
  7. I think there will still be athletes, I think the article just worded it in the sense that it's the usual crop of stars and not JUST athletes like this spring.
  8. Yea, Mel B did an interview the day of the All Star announcement (some morning show), they asked her and she said she was approached for the All Star season, but she had just signed her contract for X Factor Australia. I'm sad cause we could've had her and Maks for the whole season instead of Kirstie trotting along for 7 weeks. Does anyone know what Val says about Janel in his book. That whole partnership was weird with how it ended so abruptly. They were supposed to do the tour and and they stopped that and stopped talking and following each other. I don't wanna buy the book, but does anyone know?
  9. ABC Publicity confirmed Tonya finished 3rd and Josh 2nd.
  10. Rashad won 2 seasons ago, and yet no one seems to think it's "too many" football players, even on season 22 when we had 3 in one season. I wasn't impressed with Josh at all. He was your textbook Football DWTS guy (charisma, showmanship, weak on technique, good on crowd pleasing moves). To me it reads more as finally giving Sharna a win, but unless he drastically improves by Week 4, he makes Rashad look like Jordan Fischer.
  11. DWTS' spring situation is only because of American Idol's Schedule. I'll miss having a full season this spring, but TBH, these last two seasons I was not happy with (the ringer girls of season 24 getting slaughtered every week, David getting runner up, Jordan getting a tongue bathe every damn week and like 800 perfect scores, while Lindsey was always not good enough), A break is needed. But i do miss it.
  12. Gleb said in the "On the Pointe" with Kristyn Burtt interview that the mini season might be All Star athletes. and that it could be 4-6 weeks (previously it was a firm 4 weeks). I would prefer All Star Athletes. A mini season is too hard to get to know someone. Even the first 6 week season 1 was too short. I'd like to see these couples if it really is All Stars 1. Paige/Mark 2. Laurie/Val 3. Nastia/Sasha 4. Nancy/Artem 5. Meryl/Maks
  13. Probably, cause they will keep giving him talented female celebs and make the finale and lose to a male celebrity yet again.
  14. Jordan wasn't challenged once this whole season. He also never danced early. One time he went 2nd and every other time last or second half. He never got tough feedback. Even Corbin who has about the same amount of training, got lower scores and tougher feedback on many dances. That's my hugets issue with Jordan, he's sailed to the victory without any struggle or improvement, A female ringer that came in as good week 1 with no improvement over the season emotionally or technically would've gotten to the finals but lost or be the "shocker" elimination, yet Jordan never once struggled. He was treated as the DWTS god with Lindsey as the afterthought most of time.
  15. For the redemption dances; -Drew was the weakest. I figured he was toast when he got all 9's. -Frankie was good but I did notice some of his posture not being great. -Jordan was good, as a trained dancer should, but I found it a tad on the busy side. -Lindsey was so much improved on this Quickstep to actual proper music. She kept up in hold for that almost 2 minute dance. My arms hurt for her after that. For the freestyles; -Drew was good, better than expected, but agreed with CAI that he wasn't totally in sync with the rest -Frankie was odd cause I liked it, but it wasn't his best. It was too much going on and as a result it felt out of control in spots. -Jordan's was strong, once again, I expected this type of flashy tricky number from so I wasn't exactly blown away, but honestly any talented male ringer could've done that dance, so while it was danced well and entertaining, I don't think it was unique to Jordan -Lindsey's freestyle was absolutely incredible, easily of my favorite freestyles i've ever seen. So creative, so original. No one but Lindsey and Mark could've done that and that's the thing Jordan's was missing. That could've given her the win, the crowd went insane. I hope Lindsey can pull a victory. She's tied with Jordan for scores so neither has a score advantage, so it really will be votes.
  16. A female ringer would never have the ride that Jordan's had so far. He's gotten so little backlash over being a ringer, and so many high scores on dances that could've had critiques. The biggest bullcrap was one Len "forgave" the breakdown in his Foxtrot. I knew what the rest of the season would be like after that. Notice how after Lindsey's Argentine Tango, they've been so tepid on lukewarm on her since. It's so irritating. She's not a ringer, yet she's just as deserving to win as Jordan but they show and judges are making it out to be like she isn't.
  17. Honestly, why bother watching the rest of the season or voting. TPTB made their choice. Jordan will be one of the most predictable and boring wins ever because he was just as good on the premiere as he is now. I've seen zero growth, no journey, sometimes he could be a bit more humble. The judges pretend like they are getting tough on everyone, yet they do with everyone but Jordan. Even on a weaker dance for Jordan he still gets a 10. He's racked up 5 perfect scores to just 1 from Frankie and Lindsey. At least in prior runaway winner seasons they try to give the illusion that others are in contention. What exactly does Lindsey have to do to get better scores? I don't get it. Her Trio last week should've been a 30, her Samba should've been all 9's, her Contemporary should've been perfect score and her Tango should've gotten at least one more 10 if Victoria got a 29. Does she have to cure cancer or do 15 backflips in a row to impress them. That's the "fixed" part of the show. The judges can brainwash the audience with scores and comments. By giving Jordan's millions of 10's and underscoring and criticizing Lindsey makes the audience think Lindsey isn't good enough to win. It even almost made me not wanna vote for her because i'm already in that headspace of "Jordan's win in inevitable so why waste my time when they can't ever give her scores good enough to prove if Jordan is truly the winner"
  18. Mark honestly should've won with Katherine and Paige. Katherine was never going to beat Donald. He had a freestyle that was overpraised. It was good, but not nearly the level of praise it got. He knew the show and how to work it, plus being a football player against two foreign stars. I still find him a rather unremarkable winner. I don't think or remember much of anything he did other that annoying wanted a 10 every week from Len. That fact that Katherine got 2nd in a season where she probably didn't have a huge fanbase is a huge thing, but dance wise, she should've won. Paige though absolutely deserved to and should've won. Nyle just worked his story all season. Paige was the revelation of the season. Her Jive, Argentine Tango, and finals Salsa are among the best ever for their styles. I still say if they did their Paso as a freestyle in the finals, that type of performance could've won it for her, cause as a Paso it wasn't full of content, but to use that Paso/Contemporary fusion for a freestyle mixed with her UFC theming would'be clicked more in the finals.
  19. I find overall female ringers are picked apart and hated on every time but a male ringer like Jordan gets very little hate or backlash and won't suffer from a week 5-9 shock elimination like a female ringer usually would.
  20. Honestly what a terrible night for this show. Lindsey deserved 10's for delivering that amazing routine without mistakes and still being powerful and aggressive but danced so well. Really irritated we lost 2 good female celebs while the mediocre Drew and Terrell and the inconsistent Frankie stayed. It's like last season all over again where if you're a good to great female celeb, bye bye. Phantom was the most overscored dance i've ever seen. I noticed quite a few out of sync group moments. All 9's would've been fine but that 30 to the other team's 24 really screwed Lindsey's overall score over. She's second to the bottom, only 2 points higher than Terrell, and Jordan at 54 and the rest are 56-60. I'm scared for her next week honestly.
  21. That's probably a part of it, plus I think with Carlos and Alexa all the crying and melodrama didn't go over well with fans so they opted not to do it again. It would've been more believable if they decided to do it this week cause Nick and Vanessa were at the bottom.
  22. Kristi was 36 when she won, Brooke was also 36.
  23. Shania was as useless as ever. Couldn't make coherent thoughts, absurd scoring, and an obviously and badly lip synced performance. Probably on of the worst guest judges ever next to Abby Lee. Loved that Nikki is improving and getting better scores. I think she's improved her confidence since her last ballroom/Latin dance. She's had Contemporary and Jazz back to back. Drew was just not in control of his attack at all. Shania's 9 was all kinds of crazy. Nick was so happy to go home, he was over it and I suspect he only did the show for Vanessa, who regardless of if she and Maks get along is a contender. That Quickstep was great. Loved how the skirt moment didn't shake her or cause a slip. Gotta love Tom's dad instincts to move the skirt off. Victoria was good, not her bets, but sports, hockey and Paso was a super tough combo to make work. Frankie is horribly inconsistent. from a 9 to 7's and then to a 29 now back to 7's and 8's. That is what stop him from gaining momentum; it's stopped the very next week. Jordan is a great dancer, obviously from his training, which somehow no one seems to care about (unless you're a female ringer), but his hands and arms sometimes bother me. It's almost too placed, too rehearsed, and I don't connect with his personality in any way. Comes off a bit cold. Lindsey and Mark had the dance of the season. Perfect mix of concept and content. Not to mention, Lindsey's legs, OMG! That last trick was incredible. Mark is in his choreograph prime. I know some say it's Lindsay Arnold's time, but honestly Mark has gone what like 18 seasons now without a win and so many close calls or people that should've won (Paige, Katherine, etc).
  24. i have no issues with ringers, i've supported and voted for many female ringers. My issue lies in that the male ringers (even though its not as many) don't get nearly the hate or backlash. Jordan will probably win, however, I think maybe his general lack of fanbase could land him 2nd or 3rd. It could also be why his scores have been a bit higher than the rest, to compensate and many people have noticed Lindsey/Mark being underscored. Maybe she's getting a lot of votes.
