  1. Can we give Liv a story that's not about a boyfriend or a case? Same with Peyton. I feel this season both have had like zero character growth. Can we please go back to Liv's family drama. Maybe instead of a random story with some tumblr chick or another Blaine and his daddy issues story, we can give Liv an actual storyline? Or maybe just cut out that bald Blaine lackey.
  2. The Jane moving plot definitely gets me in the feels as I'm moving out of home next week! So when Jane officially moves, I'll probably be moving too. SO MANY FEELINGS WILL BE HAD!
  3. Great episode. I love Petra so so so much. But yeah, Michael is so dead. There is no way they're getting married AND moving out. I mean, man that will be a dark turn for the show. I'm not sure how that will work for it. And I don't want Brett to go as he's excellent(will he have a look alike cousin who comes onto the show?) But I'll be shocked if Michael survives.
  4. I'm hoping Iris talks about what it means to HER. I'm ready to see a more aggressive, assertive Iris. Candice clearly enjoyed playing her, from all the interviews she's given about it, so I think it's time to see her Iris as a stronger investigator and after learning what she did in tonight's episode, now is the perfect time to build towards that.
  5. Yikes, so Madison is pregnant with Tony's baby? That poor kid.
  6. During the Joe/Iris scene, I couldn't help but think "Man, the writer's just can't write a father-daughter relationship" I was half expecting the scene to go like this: Iris *eyeing the watch*: Well it's from family... Joe: Yes, family. Barry and I. *Puts watch away, because it's a manly watch!* Iris, I've got an early Christmas present for you. *Puts small box on table* Iris: Oh! Grandma's pearl ear rings? Joe: No, I gave that to Barry, just in case he has a daughter. Iris: Oh....*opens the box to find a key chain with her name inside. Her name is spelled*...Dad, there is no E in Iris. Joe: There is no E in Barry either.
  7. While I think Oliver should tell Felicity, I am in the camp that Felicity behaved terribly in the deleted timeline. Oliver just found out he had a son. He needed time to decompress, to figure out what they meant for him. His whole life had changed. He still had question he had to answer himself, so for her to go, "You don't trust me and you never will!" was way out of line and just cold. I think Felicity, who has such a crap, out of the picture father, would be more willing to give Oliver the benefit of the doubt, so awful writing for the character there and once again it was DRAMA for drama's sake.
  8. I'm so confused as to the whole, "You can't tell anyone about our son." Why, because Felicity is going to go blabbing to the kid? There is ZERO logic in that.
  9. I never get the Laurel/Diggle complaints. These are two people who spent the last six months fighting side by side, who are now going through similar experiences. The issue is just people HATE Laurel, so it's a damned if they do situation. Felicity still has one on ones with Diggle but she can't exactly have a one on one with him about sibling stuff since she's an only child. This is part of the problem too. Why is it Felicity vs Laurel, when we should hope for Felicity and Laurel becoming friends(I really like the Laurel/Thea relationship because well, it's the only female relationship on the show now that Sara is gone). Given that Iris and Caitlyn both lost husbands, both know about Barry and metahumans, it would be interesting to see them become friends. But the show isn't interested in that. Iris is an investigative reporter. But the show isn't interested in that. While Arrow is show itself more willing to explore women in other roles outside of the man(Felicity and her job, Laurel and her sister, Thea and her curse) Flash still seems unable to move the fact that a woman can somehow exist without a man telling her what to do. I mean Caitlyn still can only exist as a girl friday to a tech genius or mooning over Jay. I fear for Kendra and Sara in Legends of Tomorrow. I HATED that scene. Not because it didn't utilized Iris or whoever, but because I'm 90% certain that isn't how facial recognition works. It was another of the "oh we better get moving along" problems this crossover had.
  10. This episode was weird. The pacing was really off and there were a lot of logical leaps and forced leaps to get crossover/character introductions. I'm hoping next episode is less so but yeah, this one was all over the place - "Oh he throws a knife fast, it must be magic. Let's go to star city!" - "Oh hey people with secret identities, let's introduce ourselves to this stranger!" - "Oh hey, Merlyn" - "Oh how will we get to Central City, two people with wings and guy with super speed who constantly is grabbing people and carrying them with said super speed" - "Oh hey Hawkman, great timing!" And there were a lot of other moments that were just like..."umm, okay sure. It's a crossover. Let's just keep moving along!" Also, as an Iris fan I don't get the point blaming characters and not the writers. It's the writers who are forcing the Patty character, it's the writers who chose to have bad B-Plot, its the writers who seem to unable to figure out how to use Iris' investigative skills to help the team.
  11. That was such a weird scene. Like, it would have to be a faked death scene because it's the only way to explain how badly written it was. Still I don't blame BD for that one. And yeah, he's infinitely better than JB...but he also has a more well rounded character. I hope this Jane break gives Raf more to do. Also for the discussion about how Jane pays for school....Well, as most people do it now a days, Jane mostly likely took out loans. That's what I guessed and I'm pretty sure Jane's tales about her debt/loans before.
  12. Well that was a twist I didn't see coming. That was massively eff-ed up on Raf's part. Not that it made Michael attacking him in front of Mateo anymore justified. But like Michael doing that, I wish the show didn't have to make them doing so WRONG. I can't believe we have no show for so long and than a mid-season finale :(. I love this show but I'm not sure about where some of the storylines are headed.... 1. The Petra storyline....This body stuff was pretty bad and it leading to the quick "Let's not be friends" was disappointing. 2. Michael's storyline...I was expecting more excitement from his big six months away. Instead Nadine gets killed, he has some vide of blue ties, and his partner is the one who has the "ah-ha!" moment. To quote Doctor Bolton "More sparkle! More gasp!" 3. Raf's storyline - Again why? She just had this with Michael, why again? I get he did it because of what happened with Nadine but the fact that he 1) Paid someone to do it and 2) Lied to Jane is just cowardly. And I got to say, this is why I'm "Team Michael"(or team Brett I guess)...This relationship lacked any sort of emotional heart ache because Justin just isn't as strong of an actor as Brett. I mean that scene was devastating thanks to Gina and Brett. 4. Jane and the Professor - If Jane hooks up with her Professor I'll be sooooooooo disappointed. It's a cliche.
  13. He's actually gotten close with Rogelio and while I can see Michael backing off from that relationship, I don't see Rogelio letting go of the bromance. As for the story...he's kind of involved in the Sin Rostrio plot, which is a major part of the series.
  14. I thought this was a great episode but was disappointed by the ending. I thought we were done with the love triangle, with Jane going back and forth.....and we end the episode on Jane and Raf? Seriously? Can't we just have a break! I don't want Jane with Michael or Raf at this point, just let her be. This episode was great when Jane was just Jane. Petra's story was nice and I didn't see that coming(even though the stupid trailer spoiled). And Petra was showing a pretty big bump at two months...I mean even she was eating a lot, wouldn't she show elsewhere first? I don't know...Not so much her crazy family but just Petra herself. The actress makes her so sympathetic and fun. And I love the Jane/Petra friendship. It's really sweet. Mateo is effing adorable. Cutest tv baby ever? Flash forward Mateo was adorable too. I didn't really like the they wrote the Jane/Michael relationship out. I wouldn't like if they wrote the Jane/Raf out of the show so I don't like this...Gina and Brett have a great chemistry, even they aren't romantic. They play of each other well, so for the show to say "all or nothing" it's kind if disappointing. I mean, I know I said they tabled it, but we're still getting the "sad romantic music"....Is it really impossible to just let them be friends? I know the show runner is an out and proud Team Raf but she doesn't need to continue the burnt Michael to the ground.
  15. Man, this Glenn think is just extremely cheap at this point. His return will mean nothing to me since I never thought he was dead anyway...It's just poor writing.
  16. I don't think her acting took a nose dive so much as the writing for Audrey took one. Her character was inconsistent, and yeah she couldn't really do a great job with the various Audreys either(I mean, no one can do what Tatiana can do) but I think just the show's weird shift seemed to detach her from the character. Audrey was the main character and a pretty well defined character and than came season 4 and pretty much what defined her changed, her faked lost her memory, became evil, blah blah, all sorts of things...But mostly she stopped being the hero of the show. Almost 80% of the time now, Audrey is the damsel in distress. Obviously, I think the main fault lies with those who took over the show after season 3. They bumped up Dwight, made the brothers more important, and Audrey somehow become the girl they had to save or Nathan's girl. Could you blame Emily Rose for checking out? I struggle not to check out each episode.
  17. You're acting as if Michael committed a crime(letting someone go is not a crime, just bad police work). He let his partner/friend/lover go because she told him(maybe lied to him) that she did what she did because her family was in danger. If Rafael had told on Michael, it would have been an awful thing to do.
  18. Wow, the writers must really secretly dislike Michael haha. Man, he was a nut this episode. But Rafael wasn't much better. He was pretty manipulative(I hated how he kept bringing up "the family") But the best thing is, I think this will put a cork in the love triangle for a bit and just have Jane be Jane. The only thing I dislike is that they kind of did this in a way that takes the Michael/Jane friendship out of the equation again. I like when the two actors interact.

To be fair it isn't that they don't know how to write black women, it's they don't know how to write women at all.
  20. Okay, I'm watching this episode now and I have to laugh...the show can;t even pass the Brenchel test in the news room. Somehow these two great journalist still have a talk about a man. The writing for women on this show continue to be specularly awful. You have Perky Patty Perfect, Ignored Iris, and Caitlin Can't Get A Plot Without a Guy and Even Passes Out In a Cuddle. Glad to see Linda will be sticking around for more. Cool appearance by . Barry/Patty are sickeningly cute together, and I don't mean that in a good way. "How do you know I'm smiling" because you're always smiling. You're what a male writer's view of a woman is(or what they feel a woman should be). Earth 2 Dr. Light was a cool surprise. I hope they give Linda more to do. So Harrison's daughter is... or given that t's this show....
  21. I think it's the false sense of security too...but what could happen is Rafael did hear and he and Michael maybe have a talk and he kind of threatens Michael with it(more of an empty threat, more of like "Oh like you letting our old partner go") type of thing, something he meant to be harmless and more of a macho show...but someone will hear and that will hurt Michael and Jane will blame Rafael. But I honestly think by mid-season Jane will say, "I"m just going to be single for a bit..." at least I hope so! And I mean really single not love triangle single. I have to also say, the reason again I'm more Team Michael is because of the acting. Brett's "I'm devastated and hurting" face is a lot better than Justin's...like A LOT. I did think Justin did great in his scene with Petra, the "Again, not me..." was perfectly timed. And yeah, I'm not sure how Jane was in the wrong about the list. The baby is only three weeks old!!
  22. I just think if the show keeps up the critical acclaim and award recognition we'll at the very least get a season 3. The CW isn't exactly doing great outside of superhero shows(and honestly, even those are faltering quality wise and will continue to do so as they spin-off more and more). They'll want at least one show which gives them some credibility. They were probably hoping that with Crazy Ex-Girlfriend but critics haven' exactly latched on that like they have Jane.
  23. Hmm, I had thought they already had joint custody? So how are they going to go back on Michael being the one? Michael's death, maybe? Michael in prison? Obviously they aren't letting go of the love triangle(I wish! This one was literally back and forth).
  24. The pre-req class and grad school were pretty much one and the same. Once she accepted that, she'd be accepting the other. She's already in the grad school program, of course she can drop out but Jane isn't really the take four months of one class and drop out type.
  25. The dialogue and like 90% of the acting on this is so so so awful. And the plot...is there anything that makes sense. It's nice they've stopped stealing from X-Men and started stealing from Star Wars. And yeah the whole "let's send them back 15 years" thing doesn't make sense. "We need someone to save the world! Let's rely on a bunch of 15 year olds because that's when their powers will first manifest! What, you want well trained, full powered, non-hormonal adults? NO THANK YOU!" Well I think Hayden was pregnant at the time of shooting, or maybe just gave birth, so with that and her own show, I doubt she had time. As for Claire coming back for another season...given the ratings/lukewarm critical reaction, I'd be shocked if it was. This isn't a cheap show. Unless they cut the episode numbers even more(maybe 6 would work for a show like this) and throw it on Friday nights?
