I find it interesting that there isn't a lot on Jessa's wedding in the paying media.
Jessa and Ben sold the first picture of her engagement ring to People magazine for somewhere in the neighborhood of fifty to a hundred grand, so they are probably set - for now.

Folks like us on snark sites like this one may not want to accept it, but there will ALWAYS be the "we're right and everybody else is wrong" religious extremists who will pay whatever money they have to see any and all of the Duggars.
I couldn't agree more. They are those that worship the ground the Duggars walk on. A lot of people watch their show, buy their books and go to their appearances. Based on his educational background, Josh isn't qualified for a position that pays $45,000 and yet, he is earning $170,000. The most expensive thing on Erin Bates' bridal registry was a pot for $59.95, and on her wedding day, it was still on the list. Jessa on the other hand, requested much bigger ticket items and she seems to be getting them, including matching robes which cost $90 each.

Alan has always skeeved me out.
An unattractive, socially inept guy like Alan could never get an American woman as beautiful as Kirlyam. What I can’t get over is that he is eight years older than her and knew her for nine years before they got married. There is a name for a 20 year old man, who is attracted to a 12 year old girl.

The "Magical Negro" or as I prefer to call him, "the homeless guy", was played by Mykelti Williams AKA Bubba from Forrest Gump and Boomtown. I am a big fan of his work. I think he is a highly underrated actor.
For the first time since Season One, I actually enjoyed the show. I found the story lines interesting (even though some didn't ring true) and all the actors seemed to have brought their A-game. Well done!

I wonder about the accuracy of that family tree, because it states that Rhonda was born in 1980, which would make her 34 years old. That is incorrect. Rhonda is the oldest wife. She is 43 years old.

A two hour wedding special means we will be treated to a lot of flashbacks. We are going to see their first meeting in Nepal, Derek’s return to the US, not to mention the courtship and engagement segments for the 20th time. We are also going to be subjected to Josh and Anna’s wedding for the 30th time and a segment on Jim Bob and Michelle’s nuptial. Mark my words.

I sense a real connection between some of them. Rosemary and Robyn seem to be super close, as well as Nonie and Rhonda. I see them hanging out a lot on their off nights and genuinely enjoying each other's company - unlike the Brown women, who seem grudgingly forced to hang out together.
Rosemary and Robyn are first cousins and I believe Nonie and Rhonda live next to each other.
Brady’s favorites seem to be Paulie and Rhonda. I’ve noticed that Rhonda is the only wife with whom he is openly affectionate. He appears to be afraid of Nonie. I wonder how it was decided that she would be the one who would work with him. The way Brady treats Robyn and Rosemary is appalling. He forgets (or ignores) their anniversaries and seems to resent having to spend time with them. I believe the only reason he married those two was so that he’d have the five wives needed to get into the celestial kingdom.
While the ladies appear to get along for the most part, I suspect they have hurts and resentments just like the Browns. The only wife who doesn’t seem to have an issue with Paulie is Rhonda. I agree with the poster who said that Rhonda (much like Christine Brown) seems to embrace the lifestyle.

Seeing Jennifer so upset at the wedding is heart breaking. I wonder what is to become of her now that her "buddy" Jill is leaving.

Chelsea and Yamir’s story seems scripted. “Latin Super Star falls in love with a beautiful blonde and despite his manager’s objection, gives up everything and moves to a small town in the Midwest.” The premise is straight out of a Hallmark Channel movie.
Justin seems to be playing for the camera. His “I am the man and you are the woman” routine fell flat. I agree with the poster who said that if he had time to buy roses and spread the petals on the bed, then he had time to do the dishes. Plus, the fact that he hasn’t told his family about his “fiancé” seems tailored made for maximum drama.
For someone born and raised in the Philipines, Dya’s command of the English language is quite impressive. I have a feeling she didn’t learn by just watching “American television shows."
I was a little freaked out by Danielle’s facial expression when she was hugging Mohamed at the airport. I have a feeling he won’t be able to get away from her so easily.

Maybe not. In an interview with People magazine, Jessa said that her Dad gets approached all the by “jerks and weirdos” wanting to court his daughters. Seemed for whatever reason, young Mr. Seewald was the very first to make the cut. Go figure!

That's exactly what I thought, too. I'm betting she's sent quite a lot of money to quite a lot of losers.
The fact that Danielle’s brother and her kids didn’t seem alarmed told me that this “ain’t their first rodeo.” They are probably afraid of what might happen if they voice their disapproval.

As far as Mohamed, I also heard in the previews that he said her appearance was "acceptable".
In all fairness, I have a feeling one of the producers asked Mohamed if he found Danielle’s appearance acceptable. He seemed defensive, so I have a feeling that wasn’t the first time someone broached the subject. This whole situation makes me sad, because I don’t believe it will end well.
There is a very good reason why 34 year old, gainfully employed, fairly good looking Justin is unattached. I hope Evelin runs like the wind.
At first, I gave Daya the benefit of the doubt, because I thought she was just irritated by the cameras. However, based on her demeanor she seems to be a really horrible person. I hope the women around Brett will talk some sense into him.

The guy who supposedly looks like "Alec Baldwin" is only in this for a live in maid and the sex. I wish he was the one with the lady who wanted roses and ordered that seemingly nice guy to get her bags. What a bitch! I am going to hate watching Mohamed break the single mom's heart. I have a feeling this season will have more drama than the last.

And as has been said so many times, these 2 went from the giggle holding hands stage to making a baby in a matter of months.
Months? Try days. Even Derek remarked that it was strange that they'd never been alone but would be living as man and wife in a day and a half.

I love Richard Blais - there I said it! His season was my favorite, I love Stephanie too. I'm happy he's here.

Based on their bridal registry, I find Jessa’s insistence that she wants a “small cottage” rather interesting. I wonder where they plan on putting the five welcome mats, seven quilt sets and all the other largess that they’ve so graciously requested.

Does anyone know the name of the episode where Jana and Jessa discuss the jewelry box? I haven't seen it but would like to.
If memory serves, the episode aired in the Fall of 2012. It's the one where they visited Nashville and the Grand Ole Opry.

Let's be honest - something about the Duggars Drew Derrick to them, and it isn't just that he liked a pretty girl.
Funny you should say that because my sister is convinced that Derick approached Jim Bob about Jana and that he steered him to Jill, instead.

Jana mentioned she had resentment toward someone in her family.
About two years ago, Jana told a story about Jessa and her jewelry box. Jessa used to lie in her bottom bunk and kick the upper bunk that Jana was in, over and over again. When they fought about it, Michelle told Jana to give Jessa her most important prized possession to "bless" her or "encourage" her or something. Anyway, Jana gave her prized jewelry box to the nasty, little brat. And, even though it had been 15 years, when Jana was telling the story, she had tears in her eyes. It seemed she took it as “turning the other cheek and being nice to your enemy.” However, Michelle’s rational didn’t make sense to me, because you don’t reward negative behavior.

I find James’ “I couldn’t care less or give a damn” attitude rather refreshing. I know all the Duggar girls, but the only Duggar boys that I could pick out of a lineup are Josh, John David, Jeremiah and James. If any of the others were to rob me, I wouldn’t be able to say who it was.
What I found interesting was Derek musing about the current stage of their relationship, relative to where it would be in just a day and a half. At least he has the good sense to know that they’ve skipped several important and vital stages.

Chelsea isn’t bad looking. She just needs access to a hot bath, a comb and some makeup.
My heart broke for Amy. I can’t imagine flying half way across the world on a one-way ticket to live in the attic of perfect strangers in the middle of nowhere. I don’t think Danny thought this through.
I hope Brett grows a pair. Justin seems to be hiding something. Mohamed is clearly using his religion to get out of being intimate with Danielle.
