  1. I guess I missed some of F&F yesterday. Did the 22 year just blow the sharpness testing?
  2. It's clearly some kind of weird ritual. That said, I just started the episode so I'm not to the "raining logs" part yet.
  3. For Auggie "impure" means "not White."
  4. It was perfectly satisfying to me in terms of the narrative. The point of Fennec going there is that she's going there while the fight is still happening and the HQ Pyke are focused on it. If Boba had waited to finish the battle and then flown there himself, the Pyke would most likely be gone to plot some new attack. Since Fennec left early she got there and got into position before they could leave. And then killed the lot of them. Boba entrusting his vengeance to Fennac showed that he trusted her with something even more important to him than his own life.
  5. Ehh, it's the first season. Maybe they'll improve that in season 2.
  6. The Pykes were HQed several hundred miles away. They're also very noisy, so sneaking wouldn't work too well. Fennac murking those assholes was fine.
  7. I never had much trouble figuring out Boba's motivations. The last job he did ended with him getting digested, robbed of his armor and enslaved. Even better, this didn't happen because of some evil betrayal. It happened because Jabba the Hutt was a sadistic asshole and that finally came around to bite him and everyone around him in the ass. Boba Fett wants to be the boss because his last boss got him digested, robbed and enslaved. Also, while it might not have been specifically articulated, Boba Fett doesn't want to be a "crime lord." He just wants to be a lord in the feudal sense. He took over the local "castle" and now he rules its town. Like that. Of course, as the new lord, Boba is willing to uphold his obligations to protect the city and see to its welfare. He doesn't need to personally kill the Pyke leaders. Fennac Shand is a master assassin. She's got this. Boba would rather protect the town/tribe than personally avenge his former tribe.
  8. Gofferfly/Sopherfly was trying to communicate with Chris, likely with the idea of manipulating him into freeing her. Did we ever need to "find out" how dude-bro Tony Stark could be smart enough to build the Iron Man armor? Or can we just accept that he is and go from there? Just accept that Auggie Smith is extremely capable when it comes to engineering and technology. He's still a racist piece of shit. Orson Scott Card is a very talented, creative writer and also a homophobic piece of shit. Bill Cosby is a brilliant comedian and a rapist piece of shit. Like that.
  9. I loved how they did that. Just showed the raccoon dragging the helmet and then Peacemaker with the cuts on his face because yeah, raccoons are hardcore.
  10. I'm not that worried about it. I recall that in The Expanse the character of Bobbi is described as being like two supermodels put together, so maybe like eight feet tall. In the TV show she's played by Frankie Adams who is 5'11" and it's fine. Book authors have an unlimited actor/SFX budget. Actual movies and TV shows don't.
  11. Lee Child is not Tom Clancy. For one thing he's a better writer/plotter than Clancy. Also, unlike Tom Clancy, Lee Child is still alive.
  12. Jack Reacher is basically "real world" Captain America - without the Boy Scout niceness. His super-genetics let him eat crappy diner food and turn it into pure muscle.
  13. No, but he still did about as good a job portraying the character as someone with his physical stature could have done. He absolutely captured Reacher's attitude.
  14. Honestly, that makes me respect Cena more. You think Dwayne Johnson or Vin Diesel would be willing to do that? I doubt it.
  15. We know that Grogu's name is Grogu because Grogu told Ahsoka that through her mind. Yes, Grogu is a tiny, mostly non-verbal person, but I think calling him a baby is wrong. I also think Luke isn't a fool or a sadist. He gave Grogu the training that Grogu could handle. I think he's also giving Grogu a choice that Grogu can handle. Which is something that most Jedi never got.
  16. I'll miss Sophie as Sophie. She managed to get one really good burn in on Auggie and her partner stepped on it.
  17. No, it's that most armor for a Jedi expecting to face other lightsaber wielders would be worse than useless. It wouldn't protect them and would slow their movement and reaction time.
  18. I guess it's possible, but it's difficult for me to imagine the Harcourt character doing that because she knows what Chase is. She's read his file. She was there when he shot the Senator's (butterflied) wife and kids while whistling a cheerful tune. Harcourt is a canny, experienced black ops operative. Being literally, physically naked and vulnerable to a murderous sociopath like Chase does not seem like something that she'd choose to do.
  19. He gave up "everything" to get them to stay neutral and stay out of his way. He knew damned well that if any of them joined him it would only be until they spotted a sufficiently good place on his back to stick a knife in. By getting them to pledge neutralized he doesn't have to worry about them. Any of them taking the field will by definition be an enemy.
  20. A would-be priest or nun has the freedom to do non-stop orgies until they take their vows but most don't because they follow the tenets of their faith. Mando follows the tenets of his faith and only broke them in specific, unusual situations.
  21. Maybe they could add Cobb Vanth AKA Space Raylan Givens to the group to help with the Pykes. And don't forget the Baby Rancor and Space Danny Trejo either.
  22. Which kind of eliminates the Kobayashi Maru aspect since the lack of evasion/retreat was their choice. Even so, Boba had a bit of influence with them by then. He could have gotten them to avoid the train that they couldn't catch or harm to preserve their lives. But he wanted a glorious victory for them and himself. Pearl Harbor was a glorious victory for the Japanese, but it cost them quite a bit in the end.
  23. To my knowledge the name of the ship is never mentioned even once in any of the movies. I think it's dropped a couple of times during the Clone Wars series, but that's it. Beyond questions of taste, Slave I is kind of a stupid name for a ship. Sort of like the ways Imperial ship names tended toward menacing but not outright gross. The ISD Predator might be a name, but you probably wouldn't see the ISD Child Molester or Sodomizer
  24. I don't know how Kobayashi Maru the situation was. "No win" situations kind of depend your definition of "win." If that definition is "prevent the train from costing the Sand People more lives and livestock" then I think the situation is quite winnable. That win can best be achieved by "white savior" Boba Fett leaning into his "whiteness." Basically, Boba could've gone into town, dug around a little and learned the train's route and schedule, then come back and share that information with the others in the tribe so they can stay out of its vicinity. The problem with escalating hostilities is if the other side is stronger than you and decides to escalate right back.
  25. Your guess would be wrong. The Beskar armor got out of the pit because Boba was wearing it when he got out of the pit. Then, while he was semi-conscious, the Jawas robbed him of it.
