The cardigan sweater did Arie no favors on the group date. Kind of squicky seeing him (fast-forwarding) make out w bekah in that get-up.

I think the short-haired Bekka is probably a wanna-be actress. Though I find her annoying, I actually do think she’s got a “look” that would make her stand out.

Can we talk about Sharing Christmas? The whole premise annoyed me. I don’t even know where to begin. I’m sorry, but a couple retires from their Christmas Shop a month before Christmas? Wouldn’t they do that after? And it bugged me that the mother (who looked more like a grandmother) was over acting the whole time and the dad was made to be a dummy (but I get it, they were comedy relief I suppose). Also there is no way a small shop tucked away in a mall on the upper west side would A. Exist and B. Somehow manage to stay open for 40 years. Everyone else seemed to understand that businesses come and go and if you don’t change with the times you lose out. I’m sorry people lose businesses but it happens all the time and there’s no way a holiday shop would last that long anyway (especially without a website). Maybe I could buy if it were located in the village but not on the upper west side. The male lead seemed like a dweeb and OF COURSE his millionaire father swoops in at the last second. I was hopIng she would have lost it (like You’ve Got Mail) and learned to move on, open something new, work at the library... but it was not to be. She definitely made it seem like she only liked him if he could save her store. Annoying.

Totally true! Something felt more natural in thus movie, unlike most Hallmark movies. The characters spoke normally - example: when he’s in her mom’s kitchen explaining and the sister goes “what?!” From the other room. Made me laugh. Real talk: Who is styling Danica’s hair? Is it her? Because it always looks super dated! Her formal updos (also in CFC in which I thought her hair looked terrible in the ball scene), always look very old-fashioned. And the bump in the back of her head during business casual days. It’s like a little girl is doing her hair. She’s my age, but even I know what a modern do looks like. It looked best in the Christmas morning scene, down and wavy. They need to fire that stylist!

Yes to Lacey’s acting. Most of the time she stands there with full cheeks and a blank expression on her face... I just don’t get it. Why is she always some undiscovered superstar baker? Huge eye roll. It was better than last weeks ice sculpting one, but that’s not saying much. So many plot holes - you’re telling me that in a town that has only 8 restaurants, you’ve never run into your high school ex in ~10 years? Yeesh.

Reposting from the Christmas movie thread... Hallmark has a ton of terrible movies but I really think last night’s ice sculpting one was the worst. The storyline was terrible! 22 year old (?) moves back home (in what looks like a rundown town) and decides that ice sculpting is her life’s work? I mean? There’s a definitely learning curve with going from School to real-life work but everyone is okay with her just deciding not to be a lawyer? After all that money? Ughhhhh! Sometimes you need to pay the bills, not be happy all the time. Dad was terrible too- “I’m sure she’ll throttle through”- lying to the mom. Please. She needed to get a job in a big city for a few years and then move back home and change her career. And the Nick was terrible too, not even cute. I could barely understand him. Bah!

Yes! Another nitpick: who takes reservations without writing it down?! If Gilmore Girls has taught us anything about b&b’s it’s that you need at least one big book and quill pen to be able to write someone’s name somewhere... ? Like, way to be supportive Debbie downer (Jenny downer). There’s no reason he could not have been doing contract work in order to get some money rolling in. You make sacrifices when you’re trying to start a business! Gah! This movie was the worst.

I’ll say it- I think Lacey C is a terrible actress. She always seems a beat or two behind in her reactions. The “evil” blogger outshone her in every scene. So your fiancé is off working in nyc to make money FOR YOUR INN and you’re all mopey pants about it. So selfish. She was “too busy” but all I saw her doing was mope around and drink coffee. Also, Bucks County is not some rural town, it’s pretty suburban and not terribly far from NYC. Bryan seemed way happier in NYC, away from her. I knew it wasn’t going to happen but I was hoping for some plot twist like - they actually break up or they close the inn and move to NYC so she can focus on her bakery line. Finally, who remodels a house and doesn’t fix the roof? Ugh.

Flip Or Flop Atlanta - General Discussion
sistersledge replied to Hotel Diva's topic in Flip Or Flop Atlanta
I’m sure in a higher-end flip they would probably do both of these things, but in this price range it doesn’t make sense. -
See, YMMV because while I agree, I would include the HHs who say they love old 1970s kitchens....... No, you don't.

I love, love, love Edge of Tomorrow. I know it wasn't a hit but Emily Blunt was so good and I loved the overall story. This is a case of me tolerating Tom and I firmly believe had someone else been cast, the movie would have done better. I believe it does illustrate your point that Tom became and still is Box Office poison because of his behavior. My husband does too
