  1. I like Tyra's crazy ass, so yas queen! Bring back Miss Jay please, dump Law.
  2. Even Bette was on Joan's side about Christina's book, that says a lot to me. Bette quote, [on Joan Crawford]: I was not Miss Crawford's biggest fan, but, wisecracks to the contrary, I did and still do respect her talent. What she did not deserve was that detestable book written by her daughter. I've forgotten her name. Horrible. I looked at that book, but I did not need to read it. I wouldn't read trash like that, and I think it was a terrible, terrible thing for a daughter to do. An abomination! To do something like that to someone who saved you from the orphanage, foster homes, who knows what. If she didn't like the person who chose to be her mother, she was grown up and could choose her own life. I felt very sorry for Joan Crawford, but I knew she wouldn't appreciate my pity, because that's the last thing she would have wanted, anyone being sorry for her, especially me. I can understand how hurt Miss Crawford had to be. Well, no I can't. It's like trying to imagine how I would feel if my own beloved, wonderful daughter, B.D., were to write a bad book about me. Unimaginable. I am grateful for my children and for knowing they would never do to me anything like what Miss Crawford's daughter did to her. Of course, dear B.D., of whom I'm so proud, is my natural child, and there always are certain risks in adopting. Gary [Merrill] and I adopted two babies, because when we married I was too old to have our own. We were very pleased with our little boy, Michael, but our adopted daughter, who was a beautiful baby, was, brain-damaged. I never have had regrets, though, because I think we provided for her better than anything else that could have happened to her, and we gave her some happiness in her life. You can't return a baby like you can a carton of cracked eggs. And Joan [ in her own words on her son, Christopher Crawford] I remember most clearly when a teenage Christopher spat in my face. He said, "I hate you". It's pretty hard to overlook that. I couldn't. After that I can see why Joan wouldn't take Christopher and his wife( and children) in.
  3. I do Believe some of Christina's claims ( I sure wouldn't want to make Joan angry) and Joan's been known to have a short fuse. I also believe the things Christina added to "spice" up her book after it got turned down the first time, were outright lies! It was wrong to use those lies to tarnish your dead mothers reputation to make millions. To me that is worse than any mother who snaps and spanks her child when they misbehave.
  4. Sort of true from when Joan Crawford married Franchot Tone in 1935 ( who Bette Davis was in love with after filming a movie together) until Joan's Death in 1977.
  5. Well kind of unfair since Sarandan has had the same reddish auburn hair color that Bette Davis had in 1962 for years and that is what she's known for while Lange is better known as a blonde.
  6. It's like Lange has been channeling Crawford in all her AHS characters. She's not doing bad just startling how her Joan Crawford would fit right into each season of American Horror Story seamlessly lol. I keep going back and forth on team Joan or Bette which is why this series is good so far. Who will honestly be rooting for Prince Charles in season 2?
  7. Love Joan in The Women, she played a bitch so well and actually made me root for her over Norma Shearer.
  8. I disagree I feel like I am watching one of her "American horror story " characters with drawn in eyebrows not bad just not really Joan Crawford. I really hate the accent she is using. I had to laugh at the line that Davis looked like her mother since Sarandon looks younger than Lange, by a lot! Sarandon is killing it, everything except the voice is perfect to me.
  9. I think what hurts Lange in this role is she has been overused by Murphy , at one point you just have to cast someone else! Personally I don't consider the silent film era as "Hollywood" and Crawford is in the league of superstardom where they are still in the public eye nearly half a century after their death not really the case with Bow.
  10. I think Joan knew that Bette was the superior trained actor. Joan wanted this movie to be a success first and foremost this was a very important film to her and Bette's careers at that time. I have always loved Joan. To me she is the first rags to superstardom story in Hollywood. I admire how driven she was , she did not have the money, the name or the education but she used her wit, sexuality, beauty and charm to crawl her way to the very top of Hollywood and with the right role she could knock it out of the ballpark as an actor. Once at the top her dedication to her fans kept her there.
  11. IMO Sarandon was great and at 70 she looks about the same that Davis did at 54 during Baby Jane.
  12. She's my pick to win, big fanbase, great dancer. Only thing that gives hope to the others, is she is probably the least popular member of Fifth Harmony in terms of social media Followers and some people not wanting Val to win back to back.
  13. I've always had a soft spot for her, hope she makes it at least half way. IMO ABC missed the boat by having Tonya on as well. Although Nancy probably would have dropped out lol.
  14. I feel I know more of these people than before at least no social media "celebrities" and spawn of politicians! I want cutie pie Simone to win but Normani will be tough to beat, she CAN dance has Val and a absolute rabid fan base, fifth harmony fans can outvote one direction/bieber fans in online things.
  15. When bee embroidery is the most interesting thing about your collection, you know you fucked up.
  16. I could see how someone could be annoyed with emphasis on social media but other than the second episode when Zendaya made a guest appearance, they haven't really mentioned it that much. This episode was all about social media, second episode was all about runway, third episode was about their signature looks (makeovers), next episode seems to be avant garde/high fashion and episode after that is the music video episode. I think they are focusing on a part of modeling each episode and I don't expect them to focus on social media more after this.
  17. India switched dresses with Binta. I think India is the curvy girl this season. I loled at her wanting to switch with krislian initially because that big kaftan would probably fit her. I liked this, but I'm a complete drama whore, I would have kept the femmy twin because she brought a lot more drama than Coryanne. And social media is totally relevant to modeling this day and age sorry the show isn't what is was a decade ago, but it's evolving like the industry. That golden barbie model would never book anything a decade ago but with her 2 million plus instagram followers she actually books legit work. I think the show is doing these girls a service by preparing them for how the industry is this day and age.
  18. The photos were all disappointing but I think the photography and lighting were a big part of that. Judging did seem rushed but it's always like that when they have soo many girls, they barely have time to show them all. Cherish said on instagram that the judges were brutal towards her and she dished it back at them, and of course they showed none of that, so I think the judges are being more critical but it isn't being shown. I think the show is right on the money when it comes to having social media popularity, the models that are getting more work usually have strong social media fanbases, it's a part of the business now that is why showcards list models instagram accounts and why casting agents ask how many followers the models have. And Tyra has always been right on personality. some models it doesn't matter how bad their walks are or if their bodies aren't that great ( i.e. Gigi Hadid and Marjan Jonkman) if they have a huge following or fun personality that casting agents love they are the ones getting booked over much prettier girls who don't have any social media following or dull personalities.
  19. Well that's a big reason why that Australian show is such a snoozefest, I don't wanna see a bunch of dull teenagers with no life experience cry all the time. I like the stupid drama back in the model house it's what this show is all about and this season so far is reminding me a lot of Cycle 3. It's like VH1 used that season as a template for their reboot.
  20. WTF with that preview of next weeks episode before elimination VH1?? Hope that was just a glitch and we don't get that every damn week. IMo Justine should have been given another chance due to her age, and Krislian should have been sent packing.
  21. So does a one year VH1 contract mean their own reality show? Cause that might be bigger than a one year contract with an agency that might not even want them. Now the winner can go and sign her whatever agency she wants and will support her more unlike a few of the winners ( IMG did nothing for Ann, Adrianne got no love from Wilhimina, Whitney got nothing from Elite etc ) I actually thnk ANTM has been doing pretty well since the all star season in fielding at least one legitimate top model per cast. Eboni Davis( cycle18), Leila Goldkuhl ( cycle 19), Don Benjamin ( cycle 20) Chantelle ( winnie Harlow) cycle 21, and Nyle Dimarco from cycle 22.
  22. That was better than expected for a casting episode, so glad they condensed it to just one casting episode instead of the 3 we got last season. IMO Marissa ( the one born to the teen mom) got the winner edit but the editors might be fooling me. Giah the country girl reminds me of a young Nia Long she's not a high fashion model but she's very cute and endearing.
  23. I guess that Tim Gunn save needed to be justified at some point. That was butt ugly although Erin and Mah Jings weren't any better either.
  24. I think the only reason Cornelius was not in the bottom was to not make Tim look bad for saving him lol.
