I'm really enjoying season 2 so far. I think they understand, that the tone a show like this needs to have, in order to keep it's audience is 'DIALED UP TO 10 000 ALL THE TIME ALWAYS'. Anders and Alexis's affair being revealed was shocking to me. I never thought in a million years Anders would mix business with THAT PARTICULAR BRAND of pleasure when it came to the Carringtons. I mean, yes he's extremely wrapped up in them and their drama but I thought there were some lines he'd never cross. Lol I actually would like to see how that affair went down (no pun intended) in a flashback. And it's interesting cause Anders not only helped to raise Fallon and Steven but the show has implied more than once that he basically helped to raise Blake also (when he was 3, I suppose? Cause I don't see that much of an age difference between those two) so this affair with Alexis is a special kind of betrayal, I guess. Melissa getting the hell outta dodge when she realized there wouldn't be a Carrington Heir payout for her was hilarious. A lot of people seem to give James McKay grief but I find him to be a really likable and talented actor. His face when his entire world came crashing down last episode was really emotional and sad. I felt so bad for Steven. And I echo the same complaints about the actress who plays Kirby. I get what they're going for with Kirby, the character, she's clearly the Sammy Jo of this iteration but the actress isn't strong enough to go toe to toe with the likes of Liz's Fallon. In fact, I find that Liz dials back quite a bit when she's in scenes with Maddison. Maybe she doesn't want to completely trounce her when they share scenes. Finally they're doing something interesting with Cullhane. This has been needed since season 1. I'm very intrigued by this whole arc with him getting tangled up in whatever web he's found himself in. It's going to cause some very much needed dimension to his character and his relationship with Fallon. Speaking of relationships with Fallon, Liam and hers continues to endear me. No matter the endgame with those two, Adam Huber and Liz have exceptional chemistry. The scene with them in bed trading childhood war stories was one of my faves of the night. There's a certain basis of friendship that's being built there with that dynamic that's been missing from Fallon's other ships. (And I was a huge fan of Fallon/Jeff. But the show seems to be totally sidelining him so far, which I hate. I hope the Kirby stuff at least leads to something interesting for him since they've saddled him with her.) And I'm still 70/30 on him being Adam. 70 on the side of I don't think he will end up being Adam cause the show seems to be doing a deep dive/slow burn with him and Fallon and their mutual feelings for each other. I can't see how the show could begin to normalize their relationship as a brother and sister if he's revealed to be her brother at some point down the line. I mean, Fallon and Jeff barely share scenes now and they were only half cousins who boned......in the south..... The issue with Liam being Adam is that even though he and Fallon haven't had sex, they've been having something even more complicated; an emotional affair. Also I believe that if Liam = Adam, it would be tiresome after the Jeff is a Carrington reveal (and now the Steven is NOT a Carrington reveal) Also, Adam on original Dynasty wasn't even meant to be a legit Carrington, but the producers made him one cause they liked the actor so much. So the show now isn't really beholden to that particular choice. Further, Liam and the Van Kirks seem to be what the OG Colby's were. So maybe Jeff in the new Dynasty = an updated version of Adam w/o all the evilness and Liam = this new Dynasty's take on OG Jeff. I don't know if that makes any sense but it makes sense in my head lol. But all that being said, I'm 30 on the side of him being Adam cause this show is batsh*t enough to pull anything. And Fallon and Liam never once slipping up and having sex thus far is strange. Maybe they're keeping their options open for the time being. But on the other hand, the show positing him as the other main love interest for Fallon, even on their official social media accounts; only to make him her brother would be less than smart given the ship's following. So I don't know for sure, but I'm here for the ride. And finally I'm gonna have to break with everyone on here and say that I am very interested in Nu-Cristal. As much as I loved Nathalie and miss her, I think Ana is ingratiating herself quite well within the show's landscape. She's a seasoned telenovela actress and it shows. I can see her being the sweet and kind heroine who could also snap and get down and dirty with likes of Alexis if need be. Also I loved the scene between she and Sam when they were speaking Spanish to each other. She and Rafael have good chemistry. Maybe her Cristal can step in as a surrogate aunt for him. As I've said before I'm here for the ride.

I really enjoy this show. It's light and fun and I know I'm in the minority here but I do see the chemistry between Bilson and Cibrian. They have a very natural charming vibe with one another that does make me invested in Sam and Eddie's partnership/possible romance. There's so much fondness between the two and they both have the biggest, most obvious crushes on each other. It's kinda cute to watch it all play out. And I agree this episode was one of the strongest so far. I do like that they've finally given Eddie an arch-nemesis so to speak; in Deacon. The cases of the week are enjoyable enough but having an overarching plot like the one I hope is developing with Deacon only helps to give this show more layers. I don't know how it's doing in the ratings and I'm not gonna bother looking either. I'm in for this frothy summer ride for however long I have on it lol.

God I wanted to stay in "The Bubble" forever lol. I know what it's like to be caught up in the throes of a new relationship and how every touch is something magical and Sutton and Peter really did an amazing job with that tonight. You could feel the connection between Charles and Liza. And while the sea carousal was a little cheesy, I'd made me grin like a fool. Also I'm happy we didn't have to wait for the sex scene, I was losing my mind three minutes in. As a Charles/Liza shipper, I'm very happy. This did not disappoint. As for the rest of the episode? I actually enjoyed most of it as well. I'm happy the show has chosen to underscore the fact that Jake is in fact a snake and Zane, for all his braggadocio, was not willing to throw Kelsey under the bus to advance his career. It may be that he's finally caught real feelings for her. So I'm a bit more interested to see how that whole dynamic plays out. And I couldn't care less last week lol. Love, love loved Maggie and Malkie getting back together. Not unlike Diana, I think it's about time too that Maggie settles down with someone she can be herself with and I think Malkie can do that for her. She deserves to be happy. Also I'm continuing to just adore Maggie's friendship with Josh. I just need them to do more with Josh in general cause Nico is too damn endearing to not fully utilize. And finally, I'm not naive enough to believe that there won't be issues with Charles and Liza in upcoming episodes but dear god, can Pauline just go away?? I'm so sick of her and her BS. She left Charles and her kids and went on some discount bin Eat, Pray, Love "journey" and now she's found herself she wants an insta-family again. It doesn't work that way. She should be happy she was able to spin that crap into a best-seller and can make money off it. And finally, Liza had nothing to do with her marriage not working. So she needs to look in the mirror and take responsibility and move on....

No you're not, I'm still in that tugboat with you! Lol, I enjoyed the episode mainly for the Liza/Charles of it all and next week's promo....holy hell. I guess it'll be you, me and the 2 other Liza/Charles shippers left enjoying the long awaited climax to their fun and frothy romance. All I can say is: AT LAST! Also I agree with the poster who mentioned that Charles saw Liza in her element with her friends and her daughter and that's what helped to change his mind. Not just the mamabear aspect but I think that's got a lot of merit as well cause as a parent, I'm sure he understands doing whatever it takes to take care of your kid (I know Liza isn't only doing what she's doing for Caitlin but she's a big part of it....at least in Liza's mind). And I think that it also clicked for Charles that he would've been into Liza if they did happen to meet at a mutual friend's holiday party. Like no matter what he would've fallen for this woman. That's what I got from him when he was looking on at her and Caitlin do their best Sound of Music number lol. And finally on the Liza and Charles front, call me a cheeseball but I liked the nod to Bridget Jones' Diary at the end there. (or the blatant rip off, however you want to characterize it..) I mean, this show at it's core is a tropey rom com; if this was the early 00s Liza would've probably been played by someone like Renee Zellwegger and Colin Firth would've of course played Charles in a big screen rom com of the same name and similar premise maybe. So the show paying homage to that genre didn't matter to me but to each their own! With regards to the rest of the episode, I looooooove Diana and Enzo. Its about time Diana had a good solid guy in her life who makes her happy. Who is also hot as hell I might add! I don't know really what's going on with Kelsey, Zane or that other guy at the moment. I mean I think this might end up with her choosing neither but since the actor who plays Zane is a series regular, he'll always be around as an option for her. So I don't think getting invested in the other guy makes sense for us as an audience. And I know I'm going to hell for this but Josh and Caitlin had really weird funky chemistry that would've worked for me in another life. But ultimately, I agree that the show needs to put Josh on some kind of path that's not tied up with Liza. He's not doing much right now other than lamenting over his life choices and pining for her. I kinda wish the show would've put more effort into a real legit love interest for him. Cause between flirting with the idea of him and Kelsey last year (which I wasn't opposed to *dodges tomatoes*) and then that horribly written arc with the Irish girl whose name escapes me at the moment cause she was so flat and forgettable I can't remember a single thing he did last season.....And I love Nico. I think he could do a lot more if he had better material. Other than that I thought the episode was alright. But I look forward to next week!

I wholeheartedly agree with everything here. I think the way in which Charles and Liza's journey is unfolding at the moment has been relatively well paced and I know I'm very much in the minority when I say that I believe that Charles' current bitchiness towards Liza is somewhat justified. She wasn't just some fling for him, he's admitted to being in love with her; and to find out the person you've gone and fallen for has lied to you completely about who they are from the moment you met them is a huge thing to get over. And I think I've said this before; but both Josh and Kelsey had their time to be mad at Liza and eventually get over it because they love her and still want her in their lives, which is what I'm sure will happen with Charles. Also I think this arc with Charles freezing out Liza is giving him more dimension as a character, given Peter a lot more material to work with and I think it's showing Liza that he's not perfect. Cause I think for a long time they both had fantasies of each other and now they're being confronted with the reality that the person they've fallen in love with is just that; a real person- with flaws and idiosyncrasies. I mean, I firmly cop to being on Team Charles (I think the show is too lol) and I'm really pulling for them cause I think Liza's always been into Charles, even when she was with Josh and frankly; they just spark together. Even now they're at odds, you can tell there's so much raw suppressed emotion coming from both sides. Charles is mad at her but he still wants to kiss her senseless. Also, I loved the bit in the episode when they were both drunk and laughing and you saw a glimpse of what they could be down the line. That was a little wink to audience from the show, I believe. So yeah, I'm still Team Charles, and I think the show's been doing a decent job so far at developing this part of their story. ETA: I echo the sentiments of those above who believe that it's ridiculous for Diana to still be shocked at Enzo's lifestyle just cause he's a plumber from Staten Island. To be honest, as a lifelong SATC fan, I really think Darren Star needs to retire that obnoxious Manhattenite superiority complex that used to plague Carrie Bradshaw and the girls back in the early 00s. It's so ridiculous to watch Diana, a character who I adore, mimic that behavior and mindset in 2018.

I was giving it some thought and since it seem that Liam is from an East Coast sophisticate family who might look down on their southern counterparts, maybe one of the big issues between Fallon and Liam could be a situation where his family doesn't think she's good enough for him. It'd put Fallon in a position she's never been before. I can't recall if Grandpappy Carrington is self-made or not but there is a distinction between relatively new money vs. old money. Liam's family the VanKirks might be the latter. I'm just spitballing. The show might come up with something completely different. "I wonder if they'll change the direction of the show and go with the more popular ship?" ETA: Lol a fledgling friday night show on the CW with modest ratings? I'm quite positive them going with the more popular ship is a done deal.

Well that was one fun, wild ride. I gotta say I am very pleased that I gave this show a chance. I mean, it's a little rough 'round the edges but it's a damn good time. First off, I love how it was literally one revelation after the other in this episode. We dealt with the Colby drama, the Claudia drama, Steven finding out he's gonna be a daddy right before he walked down the aisle, THE OVER THE TOP CRISTAL/ALEXIS SHOWDOWN and of course this show's answer to the Moldavian Massacre. And even though I know everyone will inevitably survive, I was still at the edge of my seat. And I might be in the minority here, when I say that I'm fine with the actor who currently plays Steven. I think that while he's not the BEST actor in the world, he does have great chemistry with Raphael and really clicks with Liz as a brother and sister duo. I'd be sad to see him go if the show did recast. But I might be the only one lol. Blake's non-reaction to Fallon and Jeff getting it on threw me for a loop (and also his rationalization of it "you're only HALF cousins" and "oh wait you're not pregnant are you???" lol wtf???) and I think I believe now more and more it was in fact a late season change to facilitate what is so clearly shaping up to be a love triangle between Fallon/Liam/Cullhane. It's gonna be tiresome but such is the nature of the CW soap. (They're already teasing the 'Who Will She Choose' stuff on their official twitter). Now this is just my pet theory, but I do think the show intended for Liam to end up being Adam but maybe decided to switch gears and make the Colbys Carringtons instead. Maybe they saw more story potential in Dominique Deveraux being Jeff and Monica's mother for one. I know that's something I'm very much looking forward to in season two. And imo, I think it'd be overkill to have Fallon be once again romantically linked to another family member. Personally, I think Real Adam is dead and Alexis knows it. Also, in the original series Adam was always meant to be a fake, it's only cause the producers at the time loved the original actor so much they decided to make him a legitimate Carrington. This show seems to have a fake Adam and they're gonna do some wacky things with him it looks like. When it comes to Liam/Jack next season, he and Fallon are obviously getting into business together, he's made his feelings for her known and all of this will complicate things with her relationship with Cullhane. Fallon is 100% in with Cullhane but she wasn't exactly indifferent to Liam/Jack when they were married either so I see some romantic shenanigans coming. Again, as is the way of the soap. Also, methinks that Liam's messed up family the Van Kirks, was it? Will be the Carrington's newest business rivals. So there are a lot of pieces on the board for next season. And I'm very excited to see where this all takes us! Was fun chatting with you guys about it these past couple weeks <3

Yeah you could be right about it being a late season change. Maybe they made some alterations when they found out about the s2 renewal. I think they still had yet to film the last couple eps of the season when they found out about their pick-up. And I think Blake is adept at gas-lighting and emotional abuse in general so it's easy for him to pick up on weaknesses in the people he's trying to undermine but I still think he's pretty clueless overall. He's a classic narcissist. If it's about him or about his agenda he'll clue in, if it's not....then welp. But that might be my anti-Blake bias talking though lol.
-
I think they are part Carrington. Their grandmother said her daughter's name was Millie, which was the birth name of original Dynasty's Dominique Deveraux, who was Blake's half sister. So it seems like to me they're just consolidating New Dynasty's Colbys with that plotline from the original series. I hope their mother is Dominique tbh. And I feel that Blake being unaware of Jeff and Fallon is not unlike him being unaware of all the scheming Alexis has been doing. Blake is not the most perceptive imo. He's far too egotistical and caught up in himself to see past his own nose. So it's possible he missed Fallon and Jeff.

I like that every week this show has my jaw dropped by the end. I know some might not agree, but I really love what Nicolette's Alexis brings to the show. It's been fun trying to put together her endgame these past couple weeks and now that all has been revealed, I gotta say......she is one crafty bitch. Sometimes though, I can't tell if she wants to ruin Blake or get back with him. And I don't think she knows either. Well it seems like they've jumped out the window with the accidental incest plot-line. Even if Liam/Jack turns out to be Real Adam, their relatively chaste kiss has nothing on Fallon getting her clock rocked by her cousin multiple times. Half-cousin or no. It's still squicky as hell. And god they did SOOOO much too. *shudders* But I actually believe that Monica and Jeff being one-quarter Carringtons is legit. And it seems that their mother will be the Dominique Deveraux of this piece which I'm very excited about. I will be watching that casting very closely. I've got a few fave actresses in mind. Vanessa Williams for one, but I don't know if the CW has the budget to score her AND keep Nicolette. The fake Adam working with Alexis plot is actually something I had theorized when we were speculating about Liam/Jack being Adam (still could be.) I thought it was very strange both Alexis and Liam turned up in Fallon's life around the same time so I naturally thought they were working together. Lol but of course, this show goes left and then fakes right but my theory still ended up being legit. I just had the wrong Fake Adam lol. Speaking of Fake Adam, he seems to be MORE than a little possessive of Alexis. And he was waaaay too into calling her 'Mommy'. Again *shudders* Alexis might have bitten off more than she can chew with that one. Also as someone mentioned up thread, I also found it strange that Fake Adam didn't embrace Sammy Jo when they first met. He was playing the part of the charming and earnest long lost son at that time too so why the frostiness? Is it possible that the views of the random barfly who he paid to antagonize Sammy Jo in the first place and then subsequently punched out, were not that man's views but his own? Re: Blake. He is one of those Lucious Lyon type characters, the head honcho patriarch of the family and all around dickbag. You don't understand why they still have the respect of their families after they continually disrespect them so much. Cristal needs to leave Blake. Plain and simple. She deserves better and their scenes literally ONLY consist of Blake emotionally abusing Cristal and it's not fun to watch. I mean, I enjoy Grant Show as an actor but Blake's dynamic with Cristal isn't what I thought it'd be and like Cristal...........I want out. And finally, I really wish I could get it up for Cullhane and Fallon but I just can't. They seem to be framing them as THE Fallon ship but for me the chemistry just isn't there. Liz constantly sparks with other actors on the show (she and Jeff have chemistry for days, she had a cute vibe with the actor who played Liam/Jack, her scenes with Sammy Jo are always fun and she's got a great dynamic with Nathalie AND Nicollette) but I don't feel it with them and I wish I did, cause Cullhane seems to be a good guy. I was surprised that she choose him over the family. She's really in love. Promo for next week looks good. I hope we close out on a batshit crazy note!

Well the Alexis web keeps on spinning. It's so hard to figure out her motivations and what exactly she has planned at the end of all this. I mean, it obviously has something to do with Blake and her kids but I'm confused about the path they're taking with her. But I'm not mad at it. It's keeping me on my toes. As far as the episode in general, I gotta admit it only really started to pick up for me towards the end. Speaking of the end, I think we can comfortably rule out Jeff being a secret Carrington since this show is on the CW, not on HBO. Fallon and Jeff have had sex more than once, there's no way the show is going full on consummated incest here. But it was a jaw dropper of an ending, I'll give them that. Cause even though I know Alexis is lying, I was still stunned. But as others have said earlier, I put my money on Monica being Blake's little sister and Fallon's aunt. In fact, I hope she is because I believe it'd give the actress more to do on this show and she's far too beautiful to be as underused as she is. There's definitely something up with the Carringtons and the Colbys that go much further than business and backstabbing. They wouldn't have introduced the idea of one of the Colbys being a Carrington if it wasn't leading somewhere imo. That "Adam" is also clearly a fake too. God, Steven is as savvy as a baby bunny. You leave 5K at a stranger's door and all of a sudden a secret brother you've been tracking for what I assume has been weeks now just happens to pop up. That doesn't seem strange to you, Steven?? But, I admit I'm beginning to grow weary of the Adam story-line in general to be honest. There are now so many possible secret Carringtons about (Jeff, Fake-Adam, LiamJack, Monica) it's becoming overkill. I think the one you'd least expect (Monica) should be the one secret Carrington left standing. Also I see the Cullhane/Cristal affair being telegraphed from a mile away. Maybe not a full-on affair but I definitely see a kiss and almost shag-sesh in their future. She'll do it to get back at Blake, he'll do it to get back at Fallon and Alexis will somehow find out, she'll use her knowledge as leverage to gain Blake's and Fallon's trust and presto chango she's back in their good graces. And they'd have no reason to not trust her since she can't be accused of never supporting Fallon/Cullhane because she's pretended to be in favor of that relationship (there's no way her interest in Fallon's happiness is genuine) and for all her plotting and scheming she has yet to go after Cristal head-on. Loved all the Anders and Sam stuff. That's an unlikely friendship that really warms my heart.

I agree the pace has been a bit slow since the Bumblers have been in Mexico. Someone mentioned earlier that splitting up all the main characters like this isn't a good move and I agree. But not only have they split up so much of the main cast but they've even split Jules, Ezra and Richie WHILE they've been in Mexico together and that was a huge mistake imo. Case in point, I don't care about what's going on with Ezra and his magic pixie dream con artist girlfriend who is 100% gonna stab him in the back at some point now that she knows he's got access to a 1 million dollar ring. So I'm not too sure why we're spending so much time on that relationship when it's going to implode. The charm and magic of this show is when the trio is together and fumbling their way through this con artist terrain having each other's backs the whole way through. I really hope that Ezra's family being in trouble refocuses the show. They also seem to be introducing Jules' family as well by way of her sister it seems and I love Rachel Skarsten so I hope her character is involved more this season. All in all, I'm not calling foul on s2 JUST YET because they can still make this work but they need to pick up the pace and fast. Also I'm betting Vegas money that the lady who was so desperately trying to get Maddie to stay at the Wellness Center is either FBI or working for the Doctor.

Well my theory of Liam and Alexis working together was shot to hell this week lol. And I gotta say that Elizabeth Gilles and Adam Huber sold me on their chemistry tonight during Liam and Fallon's fight by the car. They do have that natural spark. She also has it with the actor who plays Jeff. Unfortunately, I don't see it much with the actor who plays Cullhane. In any case, Liam has fallen for Fallon that much is certain. But I still think it's VERY possible that Liam is Adam or if he's got siblings then maybe one of them is Adam. He alluded to how messed up his family is and we still don't know why he tracked down Fallon specifically. I don't know why but I totally see Steven's search for Adam landing him right at Liam's door. Also I think Liam Jack Ridley Lowden's (really???) manuscript might have contained some clues about all this if Alexis had bothered to read it before she torched it. As for everything else, I really need Cristal to team up with Fallon and help take both Alexis AND Blake down. Blake is a good duplicitous shady soap husband but Cristal clearly isn't the shady duplicitous soap wife. He's gonna end back up with Alexis by the time this is all over. I enjoy them both as characters but I do wanna see a good take down of them both. As much as the show is framing Cullhane and Fallon as THE SHIP, there's no doubt in my mind that things will break apart the second Cullhane finds about CA's role in his father's illness. Cullhane might decide to part ways with the Carringtons for good over that. And who could blame him?
-
I gotta say I'm loving the CW's take on Dynasty. It's a mindless and sequined and glittery thoroughfare. Elizabeth Gillies carries this show on her insanely pretty shoulders but everyone else plays their position quite well also. I didn't think I'd enjoy it but I do. Also just wanted to add my two cents Re: Liam being Adam. I think the show dropped a few huge anvils in the last episode what with that GOT reference right before Liam and Fallon kissed but I was thinking that Alexis' story about Adam was a little too convenient almost? She's manipulating Steven and playing him like a fiddle; he's about the kick her out of his life and the loft and all of a sudden she comes up with a sob story about a long lost son and how tracking him down is the reason she's out of money? I smell a con. And when she asked Steven if he thought she should continue looking for Adam, if felt leading to me on her part. Now that's not to say I don't think something is up with Liam and of course, he could totally be Adam but I don't completely trust Alexis's story either. And I find it very hard to believe that Blake of all people would give up the search for his kidnapped son without proof of a body. I also think it's possible Alexis and Liam are working together. It's very coincidental that Liam drops into Fallon's life right before Alexis re-enters it. In the last episode, I think that it's possible Liam was the one who purposely mixed up the drinks and not Fallon. After her run-in with Cullhane, he was standing right next to the drinks reminding her that it was time to carry out her plan. Then before you knew it, Sammy Jo was the one who was drugged. Fallon immediately assumed she mixed up the drinks cause she was distracted by Cullhane which of course would've been a bit of convenient luck for Liam if he was trying to undermine her attempts at taking down her mother. So I don't know, I might be giving the show a little more credit than it deserves; but Liam=Adam might not be as open and shut as we're expecting. Lol or it might be! Either way, it'll be a fun soapy mess.

I've been hearing February 7th being bandied about on twitter but I don't know how legit that is. Really can't wait for this offbeat little show to be back in my life. This show was really one of the biggest surprises for me last year.
