  1. I agree that Jessa was all about her own needs and feelings when she came to Hanna. She's probably used to people praising her and begging her to be around them, with Shoshanna and Adam both being examples in earlier seasons. Which makes me think: Is she seeking Hanna only because Shoshanna clearly cut her loose and Adam flat out disagreed with her regarding the direction of the film (and therefore, Hanna's impact in his life)? Jessa hasn't ever been shown as a needy person, but perhaps she is, just not in a way we expect needy to be portrayed. At this point, she seems to need an audience who admires and roots for her, and the three people she's supposed to be closest to (Shoshanna, Adam, Hanna) seem to have no time or energy to do that. They are all busy with their own stories of what their lives are and should be. She's no longer a cool someone to look up to.
  2. Shosh can't blame Jessa for her decisions in the past, but I think she was just venting and needed to tell her off, regardless of how much sense she made. Jessa always wants everyone to feel inferior, boring and uncool and she has done that to Shosh in particular. Shosh was younger and impressionable and it's no wonder she used to drop everything for Jessa. Now that she's more independent, Jessa can only deal with her cousin's growth and interests by mocking her. If she really cared so little, she would not show up uninvited to an event that is the symbol of everything she despises. The one thing that is a bit unfair is saying Jessa "stole" Adam. First, that's not a thing. People cannot be stolen and Adam pursued her very intensely. Second, Adam and Hanna were broken up. However, she absolutely should have been more honest about it. At the end of the day, he mattered more to her than hurting her friend's feelings. She chose Adam over Hanna and should not be surprised that the entire group of friends would have a reaction. Hanna can be insufferable, but she's less of a flake and more loyal. They have good reason to side with her. Shoshanna needs to be more self aware in regards to her insecurity about success and not blame it all on someone else. This has been a theme with her forever: when she graduated late, when she couldn't find a job, when she left for Japan and couldn't handle coming back. But, I think she is taking the right step removing Jessa from her life. They will always be family, but they don't have to be friends, especially if having Jessa around only ever makes her feel bad.
  3. This episode was clearly the type that sets up what´s to come instead of bringing in the action. I suppose it´s necessary and it made sense to place it all here after the heartbreak that was last week. I mean, for the first time ever: 1) The Stark count goes up instead of down. 2) Nobody was killed. Nobody. So, are Jamie and Brienne going to meet once more in the Riverlands?
  4. Well, that was a crap season and a crap finale. I agree with the complaints that the latest plot developments are at best tangenially related to the girls and since we´re here for the girls... we have no reason to want to follow this lame current story. Ezra´s crying voice just sounded like he had the flu. Caleb sucks. Toby is boring. Hanna´s been super irritating: first she was uppity, then an apparent golddigger, now she´s a cheater who stringed along a fiance, lied to a friend about her true feelings and waited YEARS to tell the person she really wanted that she wanted them. What the hell? Also, why did they show Lucas in the "previously" section if he wasn´t even mentioned in the episode? I´m glad Veronica is a senator now. The other moms should have made an appearance, if only because they´re better than everyone else. At least we didn´t get any Shower scenes.
  5. I like that this season ended on a positive note for the four girls. I don´t particularly like them as people, but I think they are unlikable mostly because they do awful things out being entirely misguided. They´re selfish out of insecurity, not malice. I just hope the choices they made for themselves on this episode actually stick and create some growth. I´m glad Adam is out of the picture for the time being at least. I can´t understand how he´s got so many fans when he´s an abusive person whose only way of managing challenges is yelling and throwing stuff.
  6. Aside from the affair with Victoria, I can see why Conrad chose David as a scapegoat: he´s dumber than the seaglass in front of his property. Nolan better get that apology and so much more. I like Margaux, I think she´s the only female supporting character that has a personality that isn´t entirely based on her crazy, selfish or jealous ways: Ashley, Louise, Charlotte, Emily´s mom... even Amanda had a deranged violent streak before she settled with Jack. I did not understand how Daniel could possibly be fooled by Louise´s note. It was even handwritten! Wouldn´t he recognize Margaux´s handwriting? She wouldn´t have an assistant or someone at the hotel write something so personal. Louise is not horrible, but I fail to see her relevancy to the story except as a pawn for Emily/Nolan to keep Victoria busy. But her backstory? I couldn´t care less.
  7. I miss Rothstein. Did they mention how he died?
  8. I hope Conrad isn´t dead, he´s my favorite. While I liked Aiden, I don´t think he´s all that important. He was the one who actually got what Emily was about, therefore his death seems inconvenient for the show, because it has always wanted to force everyone into shipping her with Jack. Charlotte annoys me, every day she gets angry at a different person, then goes back to liking them and so on. New characters hardly ever bring anything to this show, so I thought I´d hate Gideon right away, but I like the setup. Basically, anyone who is out for Daniel is cool in my book.
  9. Conrad´s the episode MVP simply for smoothing his hair that way. I love how Emily´s carefully orchestrated plans aren´t careful at all. Everything depends on sheer coincidence. Had Conrad been in the bathroom or Charlotte run into someone else first upon getting home, the outcome would have been entirely different.
