  1. Your palmiers would have cracked then I imagine. At least that's what Tanya feared. But I liked hearing from Paul what the fix was. That doesn't happen often enough. Tanya probably should have known but maybe she just had a bit of a brain freeze as that hadn't happened to her before.
  2. I'm glad that Sarita is gone. I got soooo tired of her whining about time issues & her very off putting facial expressions. I hope when she see those she will realize she shouldn't crinkle her face like that. She's very pretty but when she mushes her mug, it's very unpleasant to look at. She really doesn't want to pass that into her daughters.
  3. Yep, MM's premise was rather odd. The women were coming off colds so she wants to take them to a crazy cold climate to "recuperate" & set up a clinic. Shrug. Seems weird to me.
  4. I'm wondering the same thing about the village (island) women. Looks like they were doing something with fabric but what???? Scots tweed? One of my grandmas was an Effie--that was so weird to hear last night.
  5. Just watched the finale. I was a bit surprised.
  6. Can you explain compressed air? TIA
  7. I think about being a judge a lot when I'm watching Masterchef professionals & they are describing a dish made with cilantro. I'm thinking: "great, it will taste like soap." and I have a friend who does not eat any kind of seafood & another who cannot stand mushrooms of any sort. So the 3 of us would be terrible judges.
  8. I'm in the US so am stupid. What the hell is a jelly cake? Yikes those looked awful & sounded cloyingly sweet & unappetizing. Jelly must be something like jello but we don't have jello cake in the US. I'm udderly confused (thanks, Heather).
  9. I'm tired of gingerbread, too. I guess it's default cuz it's somewhat sturdy but we see so many fails so I wish the task was something else. I read somewhere that this go round was 2 days filming 1 day off for about 5 weeks. That's a busy, slamming schedule.
  10. I'm hoping Sally will be interviewed again soon for the local newspaper. If she is & if she says anything that's funny or enlightening, I'll post it. I was sooo hoping she would go farther (further?)
  11. I'm baffled about towers of cheesecake. That just seems to be screaming for trouble. Maybe it's because the cheesecake I prefer is the dense one using multiple blocks of Philly cream cheese, sour cream, eggs, etc.In my memory they probably weigh a couple of pounds. So imagine my surprise/horror when the brief was to stack those lovelies!
  12. According to our newspaper, it sounds as though it was August.
  13. Bummed about Sally leaving. Man these episodes are so fast!

    Season 02

Awww, I like Kristen. I hope she survives & isn't written off the show (unless she has a better gig elsewhere).
  15. Yep it's Andy. I was wondering who Danny was!
  16. What was so clever about the Sonny & Cher ad that Gloria designed for her & Phil? Sounded dated to me to be charitable. I live in Kansas, & Missouri does have some whack-a-doo religious areas especially in the bootheel if I'm remembering correctly. But KS does also (thanks, Fred Phelps).
  17. I almost asked this last night. I guess I felt I was missing something so I'm so happy to see your post. The first time we saw the singing girls there were 4, right? Utterly confused. It must mean something& I'd like to know! I'm also still pinging on bad granny wearing red when she told Lexie to use a rock. Maybe Leland has some hypnotic power over her (& others) when the color red is involved.
  18. I thought there would be some health insurance snafu at the ER with the other woman who bageled her hand. She was so ready to acquiese when they got to the table with the suits. She caved easily to about everything the "union" was asking for. The writers missed a golden opportunity to show how much an ER visit might cost even with health insurance. Of course this would have made the show an hour long.
  19. Anyone know whose voice the confessor was? It's so familiar.
  20. Sally (long silver hair) is from my town, so yay! This was filmed last summer so it's weird to see them bundled up in winter this when it's really summer in England. Notice all the green outside the tent.
  21. Nvmd
  22. I think the idea of sleeping in your own room was a good/different idea for a celebration. I loved Lilly's use of the glass box & details. Plus the macarons on her tablescape?! Brilliant. Jesse's celebration just wasn't all "that". I had trouble following her thought process of souls on fire. But I'm not disappointed Justine won. She seemed clever throughout the challenge & used a lot of mediums. She's the one with the plants on their sides but I'm guessing they're artificial. I loved the periscopes. Tres cool.
  23. I also loved Amy & Nick looking all semi corporate outside the cubes. They looked so forlorn & like extras from The Office.
  24. Welp, now we know that the 19 year old has had a paying job--for one month. So thank you, Dayna. Please go home home, Eagan, & work construction or something for at least a year, continue your craft & get some friends. Maybe get an apartment & a roommate or 2. loved all the eating. And the goofy British accents.
  25. There was a knitting contest show on but I think it was Danish (?). I'm a knitter so I watched a few episodes but it was closed captioned to English. Still it was a bit of a slog. Was nice to see pretty yarns! I'm not liking the pacing of this year's series. Has it been explained why it's being smooshed into nightly instead of weekly?
