  1. I suspect that if/when we see a second season, we will still have Molly in the "Maggie" role with her new little family, the new case will revolve around another bumpkin Lester Nygaard/Jerry Lindegaard who gets in WAAAAY over his head with out of town evildoers, and somehow we will see the cursed bag of Jerry Lindegaard money return again. Just like in this season, the supermarket king and his money were not central to any of the principal plots involving Lester or Molly, but the money (and the red ice scraper) were a linear tie to the movie. I think we'll see them again.
  2. What I find hard to believe is that Malvo actually worked as a dentist for six months to get close to the other dentist (Steven Root) who would then lead him eventually to the brother in witness protection. Along the way he even got engaged and did normal stuff like throwing a party. Then he finally gets to Vegas with his plan in high gear--apparently they are going to meet the brother (after two cab rides and a bunch of clandestine shit) the very next day. Lorne was chasing a bounty of $100,000 to kill the brother. ...then he meets Lester in the elevator and just blows up six months of nasty work AND $100,000 when he calmly shoots his buddy, buddy's wife and his own fiancee...FOR WHAT????????? Kissing off a hundred grand just to fuck with Lester???? Those three from K.C. MO were dead folks walking already, as they would have been loose ends that needed tying up as soon as the witness brother had been dispatched...but kissing off a hundred grand just to fuck with Lester????????????????
  3. It's 2014, for goodness sake!!! Don't these Vancouver fools know that you cannot solve crimes by just asking a million questions and doing a bunch of routine police work??? Where is the staff of lab rats who can solve a crime based on one seed that came from a plant that only grows on the side of one mountain--in June? Where are the magical machines that can analyze DNA in ten minutes? And how can they expect results without a super, super-genius computer geek with a mystical machine and a database that can find EVERYTHING and identify the killer with a few keystrokes? Knocking on doors--asking questions--asking follow-up questions--persevering until they find "The Motive"----that is why I love this show. But get rid of the adolescent relationship drama.
  4. I cannot name episode titles, but I recently rewatched a little scene where Spence (who needs a haircut IMO) and the frighteningly garish Garcia were mocking an old high school photo of Prentiss in Full Goth Mode. Prentiss stared at the photo as if she were looking at a total stranger and even accused Garcia of Photoshopping the hair/makeup. Even when they assured her that it was a real untouched photo, Emily stared at her old image as if she couldn't remember ever looking like that at all. I thought it was interesting that she had this look like: "was that really me?" and of course how ironic that it was Garcia who was the instigator of the "how could you appear in public looking like THAT!" remarks. Kettle--black.
  5. Piers did nothing to try to be anything other than himself. He did an "ass" thing because that is his TRUE nature. My God...how this show has improved since bouncing his pompous butt out of the judge's chair.
  6. I don't think Lester had to be "Mr. Suave" in that situation. The Widow Hess was so blinded by her greed that any doofus bearing a check or a promise of a check was "in". Lester was able to be bold in his lechery because he knew that she would do anything to get that insurance money... It might have been the first time in his sad life that he KNEW he was going to close the deal.
  7. I don't think that the tv explanation of the mysterious fish was intended to be "The Answer". Rather, it was just a dig at tv news and news reporters, who often IRL jump on the first piece of information they hear and report it as fact. I would'nt be surprised if we don't see another scene where the tv news guy or girl is babbling another theory.
  8. I'm coming to a conclusion that Norman NEVER does actually kill Norma... One day, she will in very short order, be confronted by Norman, Dylan, Romero, Nick, George and some random townsfolk--and her poor head will explode. Then Norman props her up in her chair and waits for Psycho.
  9. I love Columbo and I'm sure I have seen every episode more than twice, BUT... These modern CSI procedurals have changed the way I watch our favorite Lieutenant. When Columbo stumbles around a murder scene smoking his cigar and dropping ashes, or brings a hard-boiled egg to the scene for his breakfast, then cracks and drops egg shell bits all over the scene, and rummages in the victim's fridge for orange juice...I just yell "CONTAMINATION" at my tv, but Columbo keeps on mucking around touching stuff, moving stuff. When he does find forensic evidence that might be useful, he carries it all over town in a paper bag or in the pocket of his raincoat, so that he can pull it out in the final big "GOTCHA" scene. But as the cops who carried O.J. evidence around town without logging it into the system found out...Defense attorneys can destroy your case when you get careless with the evidence. I think I figured out why he was still a Lieutenant 20 years after we first met him--it was because he always "caught" the right guy, but NO evidence ever got admitted in the court case and all these rich guys (villains) got off just like O.J. The 70s and 80s were the era of "new" technology. It was always fun to watch as the villain of the week tried to use the newest gadgets (mobile phones, call forwarding, VCRs, etc to pull off the perfect crime, but Columbo always figured it out. Here's a little bit of trivia: In "Etude in Black", actress Blythe Danner played the wife of murderer John Casavetes and in one scene was very visibly pregnant. That little "baby bump" later became Gwyneth Paltrow.
