I binge-watched the whole thing just a few weeks ago. Had no idea how good I timed it with the new series but I'm glad I did. So good.

He does say that line really weird! But it's a classic, how he says it and all. Maybe he's showing a bit of self awareness by saying it in that tone, knowing it sounds a bit out there, instead of deadpanning it. Seeing Mulder's very first slide show made me smile so wide. You know, unless someone knows the differences between the implants, updated alien technology is gonna be canon in my head! I wonder how small the chips would be if someone got them in season 9. Which reminds me. Scully was really scared when the plane shook. I wonder if, originally, that was gonna be a thing, her fear of flying? Presumably he/they could restrain them. At least Billy who was supposed to be a "vegetable" (Scully's words, which, a bit OOC? But oh, she was young and in shock) he could have done something about. Unless intervention resulted in super human assault? Sorry, am I nitpicking? It doesn't bother me, it's just fun thinking about it :-) Oh, and the exhumed graves? Aliens, right? But why, Aliens, why?!

Of course we are! Depending on how many are still playing/up for it I thought we could possibly do our top 5's for a mega round. That or top 3 if 45 eps seems too much (but I figured we'd do away with big chunks of 5 in the beginning so it doesn't take forever) ETA: If we did a top 5 I thought it might be clearer which seasons, in the end, would rank the highest. Almost every season has a really strong top 3 after all, but maybe not a really strong top 5.

Hah, didn't even register that his story's different. How many times does it change? Three? Four? You'd think they could've changed that scene between making the pilot and airing it if CC came up with a different story in that time. Maybe Mulder's just been hit over the head a lot. I thought they looked different too but figured maybe it's supposed to be the same even if the design was altered between appearances. Who knows! I thought there were two of them, one hit Scully and the other confronted Mulder, but maybe it was the same guy? It would make more sense if it was just Billy's dad. Even if it was, he knew Billy was there, so why didn't he stop him? Did he know aliens were involved and was afraid because of that? Is anything directly followed up in Requiem?

Wee! I envy you that you'd forgotten so much! I think I rewatched it only like a year-year and a half ago (but before that maybe a 5 year gap) but it still wasn't in the least bit dull when I watched it now. Such a great pilot! Fast-paced without sacrificing character development. I gotta LOL when they have Scully dress down to her drawers so quickly, but I figure that's pilots for ya. Joke's on the network since they barely showed any Scully skin for the rest of the series. I can't even think of when else they did that on the top of my head? Love how when Mulder tells Scully about Samantha's abduction there is no swelling music, no tears, no close-ups of Sad Mulder telling his Sad Story, no shots of Scully gasping. He tells it like he's told it a million times before in a simple wide shot of the pair of them. I like that. If course, when he gets to the conspiracy of it all then he gets his agitated close-up, heh. All that said, there are things about the episode I just never get. I don't know if I stop paying attention in the same spot each time and miss an explanation or three, I just look at Scully and think "Oooh, pretty," but why are Billy's and Teresa's dads in the woods letting all this shit happen at the end? What is happening? They know Billy got out every other night and they just let it happen? What was that thing in the corpses nasal cavity? Same chip Scully gets later on? The thing was the reason for the mutation, right?

Heh, yeah what I "remember" is mostly an absence of plot. I know the general outline of both, so whenever I think of a rewatch I'm afraid they'll make me fall asleep drooling over myself. I'm looking at what's left of season 5 and my fourth place would go to... Chinga? Really? I love the parts with Scully on the phone but I really just wanna smack that kid whenever she's on screen. I think it's the rare ep that simultaneously makes you giddy and is like nails on a chalkboard.

Well clearly I need to rewatch Redux II as well. I remember liking it, just not the greatness. Well, apart from when Blevins runs into that office all panicked, for some reasons his face cracks me up so hard. Just rewatched TPBV. Nope, it just doesn't do it for me. I don't dislike it but it doesn't really hold my interest. I kept wanting to check my phone. I think I need more sinister, creepy or humorous villains. Perhaps it's the viruses and conspiracies.... I get enough of that in the mytharc eps. Speaking of, I could do with rewatching En Ami and all things before voting starts for that season. Haven't watched those for a good 10 years and remember nothing at all about them.

Not quite the same, but I appreciated the same with Kale Ingram on Rubicon, the head intelligence FBI/CIA whatever guy. It's been a while since I saw it, and the show was short lived, but no issue was made of it what-so-ever. And he had a visible boyfriend/husband.

Yeah, season 5 really is low on the Love-list. Mind's Eye and All Souls I really like but it's pretty far from love and they'd probably rank 4 and 5 for me. The top three I pretty much love though, but even they (save one) would rank low on a Full Series Love list.

I like how Chinga was on the verge of getting the boot in, like, the second round, but here it still is, going strong, not coming close in recent rounds. What a difference a day (or three) makes!

This game just got me rewatching Unrequited. Holy hell that was dull. Even David and Gillian seemed bored, but that might have been me projecting.
