I was worried about Josh in round 1. He seemed off his game. I'm sure it's difficult to repeat after a long break answer was happy to see him pull away in DJ. I didn't have many TS today. I missed FJ and was slapping my forehead after Josh's answer was revealed. My gets were Psalms, Jude DD, oysters, and Dutch Boy.

Count me in. I thought the episode was really weak, although I enjoyed seeing Lin Manuel and some of the cameos in the monologue. I had high hopes because I adore Tina Fey, but I didn't like much in this episode. I think the best part for me was Eric Trump's Big Wheel with an alarm. ETA: This one is my favorite of the BBQ woman memes. We had my graduation party Saturday night, and I had her added in to a picture of my male relatives (all black) sitting around a table eating. I won't post it here, but it was quite popular on my Facebook feed.

I thought the same thing. This case made me so sad. At least Caleb's death could've been prevented, and maybe Bridget's too. It was weird to hear the police department praised for how they handled the investigation of Caleb's death when they botched the other cases. I can't believe those horrible people killed three over a custody dispute, especially when both sides were seeing the kids. Dateline drives me nuts by withholding important information until the second hour.

I agree. The year in the clue should have led her to the Civil War. I was stunned when she missed ir.

I read that as "asses" and was quite confused.

I am a school supply whore. Seriously I can spend hours shopping for supplies. I had no clue on FJ, and I'd have arrogantly gone all in on that category. I had Job, oxygen sensors, Jay Z, Drake, low emission vehicle, and recent / relent. I'm worried about Claire, but she's aggressive and could have a big game tomorrow.

Ugh. Can't wait to miss it. ETA: I heard of JITB when I was young because there was a scandal about them selling kangaroo meat. Back on topic, I'm looking forward to tonight's game. Go Claire!

Thanks and thanks!

You're doing God's work. I can't with those cases!

I crave them when I'm drunk, which isn't often these days. There's one around the corner from my house. I like their sourdough breakfast sandwiches. I think it was a fair clue since it led you to Jack. We didn't have them in PA but I'd heard of the chain before moving to AZ. I didn't write down my gets because I watched late. It's our anniversary! We celebrated another year of not killing each other. Jake from State Farm was totally annoying to me. Katherine was okay but slow to choose. Larry was fine, but I am rooting for Claire. I'll take the Mex part only. Tucson has the best Mexican food I've ever tasted. I can't get into Tex-Mex. BTW I asked for Those Darn Etruscans a few weeks ago when we were discussing old categories we missed. The Jeopardy gods smiled upon me. I love that category!

I can't properly quote on mobile, but man I wish I'd read the forum before I hit that second episode. What the actual fuck was going on with his mouth?! I'm totally going to have a nightmare tonight. Gah!

I had George, Dashiell Hammett, shark, and FJ in an instaget. I didn't write down anything about the contestants so none of them bothered me.
-
I always answer Howie Long when I mean Huey Long. So I would totally try to get away with just saying "Long." I'm not sure why I keep doing that.

If you only authorized it for certain things and the person uses it outside of that scope I'd consider it fraudulent. But I get your point too. I still wonder why MM didn't address it. She usually does in cases like that.

That picture! Gah! We need to get to another page stat! Why didn't the plaintiff in the first case just dispute the charges with Home Depot? Yes, she gave him her card, but couldn't she still dispute the unauthorized charges? The cynic in me says she did since she mentioned the account being closed and her having a new card. I wondered why MM didn't at least ask about it.

I didn't understand her FJ bet. Either I suck at wagering or the contestants do. I'm often baffled by their wagers. I had netiquette, Beethoven DD, lederhosen in an oddly worded clue, Zubin Mehta which I learned from Jeopardy previously, and Charleston in an instaget. Gone With the Wind is one of my all in categories. It's my mom's favorite book and movie, and my first and middle names come from it. I'm not a fan, but have read it and seen it more times than I've wanted to.

S43.E20: Amy Schumer / Kacey Musgraves
teebax replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Saturday Night Live
Thanks for this response. I don't think there's anything niche about it. I watch it and could totally see it happening here. We seem to have leaders who want to turn America into a fascist state, so Handmaid's Tale, while terrifying, is extremely relevant. A show like SNL should totally be recognizing it. I think the sketch could've been better, but I understand why they tackled it. ETA: I have always liked Amy. I haven't seen her new film yet, but I enjoyed Snatched, loved Trainwreck, and love her stand up comedy. I thought this was a solid episode but agree that the energy level seemed low. -
I love mine too. I'm usually reading several books at a time, and it makes it easy to always have them.
-
I was surprised I missed it! I guessed executive privilege and am ashamed of my answer. I was rooting for Ranjani after she ran the Shakespeare category, even though they were easy. She bet too much in final. I had Cloverfield Paradox, Counterpoint (a fantastic show I highly recommend), and quack.
-
I made the same mistake. Elizabeth Moss played Peggy Olson on Mad Men. That's my excuse for my incorrect guess. I watched late and didn't write down my TS gets but there were quite a few that surprised me. I was busy today graduating with my Master of Secondary Education degree. Based on how I do at home, I really wish I could participate in this tournament! (I'm sure it's harder in person.)

I was doing well until FJ. I'm glad an English teacher won. Although I'm a Phillies fan, I adore Mike Trout, so I liked Judy's interview. I had either, Louisiana, Tennessee, Iger, which, Harry Hamlin, CBS This Morning, Ladd, and Ronan Farrow. I had no clue on final.

Today was my turn for an instaget FJ. I said it before Alex finished reading. Lots of TS today. I had eighth wonder of the world (not sure why Erika didn't get that after the two others screwed it up), Ain't She Sweet, lexicographer DD, Spanish American War, Jack Johnson, Harlequin, Ole Miss, and Gwendolyn Brooks. I was disappointed with Erika's performance in the African-American Firsts category. These were things most contestants should know, but an African-American teacher really should have known some of these. I hope that's not too politically incorrect to say. It's important we know our history.

I'm a huge movie fan, and Fargo is a favorite of mine. Yet it never even dawned on me. That FJ was brutal for me, so I am not surprised it was a TS. I did have Toronto and Earl. It wasn't bad for a Teachers Tournament game. I thought the clues were challenging, and it didn't feel dumbed down to me at all. Of course I'm a teacher, so.....

S43.E19: Donald Glover / Childish Gambino
teebax replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Saturday Night Live
This was my favorite in what was an all-around great episode. I immediately yelled, "Oran Juice Jones!" When he said his name was "Raz P. Berry" I lost it again. -
Negative. They haven't called. In better news, our walkout is over in AZ. I'm looking forward to going back to work Monday. I also can't stand Josh. Jeopardy Gods, I hope you see this and punish me by giving him a long run. Teachers Tournament time again? I'm prepared to be embarrassed for my profession. Although, to be fair, some of the strongest contestants I've seen have been teachers. Maybe they'll surprise me.
