I just started bingeing Bosch this morning. So far I'm enjoying it. On topic, I see a lot of shows mentioned on Jeopardy that I've heard of but never had time to watch. We seem to be in a new golden age of TV, and I wish I had time for all the things I'd like to watch.

The poster who explained the Righteous Brothers fiasco is going to be on today. I'm rooting for her.

I finally found an answer about what happened, from a Reddit poster who was at the taping. Ryan initially sang the answer (because of course he did.)Alex stopped so the judges could listen to it. The audience thought it was a licensing issue, but apparently they realized he sang "you" instead of "you've." This resulted in a need to reshoot the clue with Ryan saying the incorrect response. That's why the others didn't get to ring in.

I was rooting hard for Justin today. Michelle's voice bothered me for some reason, and I'm finally over Ryan. He didn't bug me much until today, when I was upset he took the lead at the end. I don't know what happened on the Righteous Brothers clue, but it would have annoyed me if I'd been one of the other contestants not to have a chance to ring in. My gets were James Joyce, The Last Tycoon, and FJ after briefly considering Star Wars. I've mentioned this before, but in Tucson Jeopardy gets interrupted every day during monsoon season to either tell us it's raining or tell us it's going to rain. Mind you, the comes on right before the 5 o'clock news, so it could wait. My barrage of angry letters, sent over the years, has gone unanswered. I watch on Reddit and don't feel bad about it because they just will not leave Jeopardy alone.

I never heard of it until I became a teacher. I had a pretty good game, which is good because I had no gets and missed FJ yesterday. I had dilate, parasites, Leaving Las Vegas, charger, Webby, Cliffs Notes, tragedy, DiSpirito, Anthony Kiedis, and the 1980 FJ in an instaget.

So the answer to my question is, yes dumbass, you've been misspelling it your whole life!

I checked to ensure I haven't been spelling momento wrong my entire life. How was that in the "me, me" category? Is there an alternative spelling? My gets were boot camp, machine gun, Booker T Washington, and Nutcracker. I missed FJ. I meant to mention this as well. That should've stayed incorrect.

It's my alma mater, and there's a huge rivalry between the two schools, so I was doubly annoyed it was missed*. The very next question was about Philly, my hometown, so I enjoyed the streetcar category. We also had a 76ers clue. Good job, Jeopardy. My gets were Tucson, International Space Station, Marlins, barrier reef, and FJ in an instaget. I can't remember a contestant ever cursing but that's totally something I'd do. *Short story time: A friend from Philly called me one morning at my office in Tucson. She was traveling to Hawaii and had a layover in Phoenix. She wanted to know if I'd meet her there for lunch. I told her just with travel time it'd be a four-hour lunch for me. She apparently thought the two cities were closer together.

My dog's name is Hoover, but they haven't asked about him yet.

Cherries was an instaget for me because of the word in the clue. I liked all 3 of the contestants and would've been fine with any of them winning. I also had future suture, Juan Carlo, diving, and Nathan Hale.

After lots of crazy times in my 20s and 30s, my life is finally boring. I have to say I'm happier than I have ever been because boring means stability, which I never had in my youth. I do have great stories, if I ever make the show, but there's nothing wrong with being boring! The comments on physical appearance here always surprise me because I assume Jeopardy viewers are a bit classier. I'm glad it's finally being discussed because it was uncomfortable during Suzanne's time on the show. There are posters I've muted beause they have been crass about a contestant's appearance, whether it's about how attractive one is or how unattractive they are. If I have to start ignoring posters I probably won't be shouldn't be on a board. I used to be very active on another forum, but I got so tired of the vitriol that would be spewed about any litigant (it's a court show) who wasn't thin. Why it's considered acceptable to pick on someone's weight is beyond me. I hate bullies. Regarding the game, I was watching with four other people from Pennsylvania, and none of us got FJ correct. I said True Value, knowing it was wrong. The new champ was very impressive.

Congrats to Suzanne for another win. I was rooting for anyone but Dave. Suzanne is crazy with the buzzer, but other than that she seems perfectly fine to me. I didn't write down my gets but FJ was an instaget, and I was surprised no one got it right.

Congratulations to Scott on another impressive win. You had some tough (for me) gets in this game, including an answer I'd never heard of. Great job! I had Herb Brooks, Alcor, slides, neck, "Set Fire to the Rain," Faith Evans, and FJ. For final I initially considered Rasputin but realized the timing was off, and then I remembered Mozart from watching "Amadeus." Scott, I hope your (blame in on the) reign continues. Your intended interview story was way better than Alex's hijacked interview story.

Well, damn. I assumed it was a Jason Mraz reference. I swear I had a CD of his back in the day with that title, and you did well in the music category, so.... I mentioned that in my post as well. It's getting ridiculous.

That was a good game today, at least for me playing along at home. Welcome and congrats, Scott! I went back to make sure I hadn't posted anything negative about you. Ha! In my experience, this board is kind when we know the contestants who are going to be on or that they're related to one of us. If I ever make the show I'll give plenty of notice because I know some of y'all will hate me. Guaranteed. My gets tonight were chili, Ghostbusters, Siberia, and final in an instaget. Also, a picture of Elivs??? C'mon Jeopardy; you're better than that!

This was another good game, despite Amy's voice and odd buzzer position. Congratulations to Scott, who got a few answers in the Rock and Roll category that surprised me, particularly Motorhead. Nice job! Andrew is serious when he plays, but I liked his personality in the interview. His story made me chuckle. This may be the first sports FJ I've ever missed. Of course it would be golf, which I can't stand. I guessed the US Open and then wondered why Jeopardy would ask a question with an answer that could apply to more than one sport. The Masters didn't even cross my mind. My gets were quilting (DD), Radiohead, and bread & butter.

As a lover of true crime books, I'd say go for it.
-
I told my girlfriend that the way Diane kissed was probably the motive for the crime. Life is too short to be kissing bad kissers. On a serious note, I am in the crime of opportunity camp. As a responsible gun-owner, I wouldn't do any of the things with my handgun Tex did that night. I don't think I know anyone who's been on Dateline, but three girls in my high school were murdered by their boyfriends within a one-year period. If there'd been a Dateline back then, I'm sure they'd have done a story on it. I was friends with one victim; my sister was friends with another. We didn't know the third one well (it was a huge high school.) I also had a former boss who was shot and killed by a guy he'd fired a few days prior. The dude walked right into the office, said a few hellos, calmly went down the hall to the boss's office and shot him. I'd enjoyed working with the killer and was shocked when it happened. It's weird to see people you know in these tragic news stories. For the record, the boss didn't light up room; he was a tyrant who enjoyed making his employees cry. He didn't deserve to die, of course. Speaking of the sanctifying of victims, I saw a comedian once who did a great bit about that. He said just once he'd love to see someone say, "Oh, that guy was a total dick. I'm surprised someone didn't kill him sooner!"

I came here to ask the same thing. Jordan is Canadian (at least I think he is; Alex really needs to mention it more when this happens) so I can excuse him, but what was Ben's deal? Between the Jordan's lisp and Kelly's apparent misery at being there, I was rooting for Ben to win. That female voice you heard screaming, "Oh my god, you fools, choose adverbs" was me. I can't remember the last time a word category was left for last. I thought most J contestants enjoyed categories like that. Of course, for all my bluster I whiffed on "hereafter" and slapped my forehead when Alex gave the answer. My gets were Declaration of Independence, Florida, Saturn (I said Saturn after the second missed guess, so this may not count as a get), and final in an instaget.

Alex had a couple moments tonight when he pointed out he knew something. He's such an ass. Bankers Boxes are traumatic for me. I was summarily fired from a job once and I found out when I came to work and all my stuff was in bankers boxes. That story still pisses me off, and the sight of those boxes brings all those bad feelings back.

I was going to respond but decided to let it be. Never mind. Anyway, I had a solid game tonight and was stunned when Amanda's answer was revealed. I was sure all three of them would have it immediately. I had to Google Suspiria and was surprised to find out it was the title of a movie; I have never heard of it, and it apparently was released during my time. Oh well. My gets were muff, holograph, Bankers Box, Goody Mob, Great Falls DD, The Bells, and final. I hate that AT always gives away Burns clues with his horrid accent, although I guess not all the contestants recognized it. It's kind of Jeopardy 101: you hear that accent, and your Pavlovian response should be, "Burns." Has Alex ever mentioned being from Canada before? He should definitely talk more about that. /s I liked Amanda and her smile, but I co-sign on that lisp.

If you find out I'd love to know. Ali put his buzzer down too soon at the end, but he was impressive. He should've had a runaway. I had Big Little Lies and Funny Girl. FJ came instantly to me, but I'm a bit obsessed with Australia. I loved the word problems, which is probably the first time I've ever written that sentence. They were a little long, but I enjoyed them. I'm still really meh on Ali. He comes off to me as smug, but I didn't think the other contestant many of you called smug was smug at all, so what do I know? I'm not upset when he wins, but I wouldn't care if he lost, unless he lost to a real douche.

Ali is just okay for me. I don't love him or hate him. Meh. I had Brady Bill DD, gibbon, manicotti, platypus, Niagara River, and resistance.
-
I also think it was a fair question but can totally understand why some do not. I would be annoyed if a contestant were brought back because of it. Alex's GDP screw-up was way more egregious.
-
I'm so glad Ali won after Alex was kind of a dick to him about his DD wager. Alex, just host the game. Keep your opinions about wagers out of it! Alex also irritates me when he points out a contestant's reaction to the FJ category. I know the contestants should keep their composure, but that's hard to do in the moment. Anyway, my gets were Mayflower Compact DD, semantics, Hoboken, "It was a very Good Year," Arizona, Dakota, Red Wings, and FJ in an instaget. At first I thought Jessica and Deirdre misread the FJ clue, but I can see why they'd guess Truman. The wording of the clue was, "On November 3, 1948, he sent a congratulatory telegram, then told reporters, 'I was just as surprised as you.'"
