  1. OMG. The school where I teach has been back since July 27th. Sorry you missed the new episodes. It was refreshing not to see a dog bite case.
  2. I get what you're saying, but there was something about all these various accounts that made me think it was a bit scammy, just like JJ did. It would seem more legit if there were a more concerted effort to consolidate all these drives so people can really see what's been collected.
  3. Thank you, thank you, thank you. If you lived closer, I'd buy you an adult beverage.
  4. FJ was an instaget for me, but I'm a huge Poe fan. His stories made me fall in love with literature. I was sure the retired teacher would get it right, although I don't know if she said what her subject was. I felt so bad for Monika, who seemed crushed. If she hadn't editorialized so much or told a long, albeit cute, interview story, I wonder if there would have been a different outcome. Oh, well.
  5. My now ex was having cell phone issues, and her phone was set to Montevideo. She called me to ask why her phone said "Monty Video," and I couldn't stop laughing for so long that she finally got mad and hung up on me. I don't miss her, and I won't miss this asshat when he's gone. He is definitely knowledgeable, but his antics are driving me crazy. Stop staring down the other contestants!
  6. I am relying on you guys to tell me if they ever show Mrs. Bean again. I want to save it next time it airs, which I should have done the first time.
  7. What the hell happened to the middle contestant? Did he fall asleep for DD? He wasn't even attempting to ring in, was he? I'm not a Pranjal fan, so he'll be around FOREVER.
  8. No shame in my game. I have a TV in mine. I usually fall asleep to either music or TV. Now that I share my home with my parents and nephew, it's usually the only place I can watch what I want (I don't let the nephew see anything above a G-rating.) Anyway, the sleep timer is my friend. If I forget to put it on, whatever is on TV (usually the ID Channel) seeps into my dreams and gives me nightmares! I had a TV in my room growing up, although it only got 3 channels and the programming went off at a certain time. I was an A student. I imagine if my grades hadn't been good, my parents wouldn't have let me have it. I know my bone-headed brother never had a TV in his room. LOL. My nephew has a TV in his room, but he doesn't have the remote control and can't reach it to turn it on. I had to do that for my own sanity; I can't stand the annoying noises his cartoons make. Also, there's no satellite box in his room. I have a Roku, and he streams kids' shows on Netflix. He's not much of a TV watcher, though. He'll watch a show, and then he's on to something else.
  9. I don't disagree with those who posted so far, but how would they handle a BMS situation in FJ? Just rule it incorrect? I'm sure it's happened before, but I can't remember. I'm sorry to see Ellen get defeated, especially since it seemed unfair. She didn't have much personality, but I'm fine with that in a J contestant. Also, we have that Philly connection. Oh, well.
  10. I thought that, too, about Emily. She was loud, but her story was inspirational.
  11. Thanks for the tip. I can commit to trying this again. We're staying at a casino tomorrow night. I think we'll give it a try!
  12. I loved that Leslie reminded the panel that these are real contestants playing for money. She may have telegraphed too many answers, but I appreciated seeing a panelist who genuinely wanted the contestants to win.
  13. I love Leslie Jones and have never understood the hatred for her. Yes, she's loud. So are a lot of male comedians. She's funny as hell, and they can have her on every week, as far as I'm concerned. I'mlooking forward to Ghostbusters. I haven't had time to see it yet, but I hope to this week.
  14. There's a news category, but I don't know about 60 minutes specifically. i enjoyed Bud Lite Lime in the summer, so I'm not all that surprised that their margarita is good. My girlfriend likes the chelada drink they make. It's Bud Lite and Clamato, I think. I can't imagine that would be good and won't even try it, but she likes it a lot.
  15. Oh, I did not find any time whatsoever; I just wasted a bunch of it. Now it's Sunday night, and I'm feverishly trying to finish up the work for my grad school class I'd intended to do last night. Ugh! I looked into the Watermelon Mojito thing, and it requires me to muddle a watermelon. I'm not much for muddling things. When I want a drink, I want it right now, dammit! But I'm going to keep an eye out for one on the menu the next time I'm out at a decent restaurant.
  16. I vote hilarious, but sad. In other words, like most JJ episodes.
  17. The same people give me attitude when I have the audacity to look at them. I don't get it. My girlfriend has a few tats and asked me why I don't have any. I said, "I don't want any." Really, there are better things for me to spend my money on, and I think most of them look like crap, but I thought saying so might come across as judgey. I'm the only one in my circle without tats, so I would argue that I'm the unique one!
  18. I spent four freaking hours on that site last night. Ugh!
  19. Well, now you know what I have to do. I'll see you guys in a few hours. LOL.
  20. I try not to Google new things because I ultimately end up down a rabbit hole for several hours I can't really spare right now*, but I am totally going to look into this watermelon mojito thing. I love mojitos, and I love watermelons. I've been on a grapefruit Moscow Mule kick this summer, but I'm looking forward to trying your suggestion very soon. *Here's an example: I'm at a hotel on a business trip and need to prepare for a seminar tomorrow. Next weekend, my girlfriend and I are going to AZ wine country (don't knock it; we have some excellent wines here, and they call it Napa-Zona). Anyway, I was charged with finding us a hotel for our trip. It is three hours later, I still haven't chosen one but now could write a book about every damn hotel near Sonoita. Then I decided to revisit it later and get to work, but then I realized I haven't been on this site in a while, and now I'm down another hole. I may need therapy.
  21. As usual, I've been way too busy to watch JJ, but you guys have me anticipating these cases. Are they all new? I didn't know JJ was still doing new cases.
  22. I got FJ right away, but I also was unsure about ABBA having been inducted. I can't stand them but know they're pretty popular. I'm out of town on business, and I arrived at my hotel with 5 minutes to spare in order to watch the show. Unfortunately, the person in front of me at the check-in desk took 15 freaking minutes to get checked in because she was insisting she'd booked a smoking room despite the front desk clerk showing her that she had not. She was berating the clerk, who already told her she would change it, and being an asshole to her. I had an Ally McBeal moment in which I visualized myself slapping her repeatedly and yelling, "You're making me miss Jeopardy, you jackass!" Alas, I don't think she'd have cared. She didn't strike me as one of us. Anyway, I tuned in just in time for DJ to start, but it didn't seem like I missed too much excitement. I'm glad the returning champ won more money today. I like her.
  23. Oh, you're far from alone. I think those of us who hate it just complain louder, but there are several boardies who've mentioned that they like aggressive play and like when players try to find the DDs. I love big bets (and I cannot lie) so if someone is hunting and hits a DD, they'd better wager big, or they're dead to me. I know some try to hit a DD just to keep their opponents from getting it; I don't really like that, although it's a valid strategy. Jason doesn't bother me for a few reasons: 1.) He's from Philly, and I always, always root for players from my hometown. 2.) I don't mind his clue selection because he gets many of them right. He has stayed in categories for more than just one clue, too. I hate, hate, hate when contestants go for the high-valued clues and then stare at the board, mouths agape. 3.) I like his attitude. He doesn't seem full of himself, selects quickly, and seems like a genuinely nice guy. Jason is also easy on the eyes. He is one of the prettiest Jeopardy champs I've seen, male or female. I may lose my lesbian card for saying so, but I think he's hot. While I don't require that in a contestant by any means, it is nice once in a while to see someone who is good-looking and also intelligent. If Athur Chu's only sin had been the board hopping, I could have learned to tolerate him. However, I didn't like his attitude. That's a much more unforgivable offense for me. Alex may be a tool, but he's our tool. And you don't step on the host when they're trying to say something. We had another contestant recently who did that, and I despised him.
  24. The GM Lyft program uses On Star to track personal versus work use and charges per mile for personal use. I hope your neighbor is aware of that!
  25. It's all good. I got dumped, by text, after I decided to move in my parents and switch careers. I guess it was too much change for her at once. Good riddance to bad rubbish, I say.
