I also answered 12 Angry Men, which I just realized I left out of my original post. Waiting for Godot makes WAAAAAYY more sense, probably because it's right.

Not that it mattered in the end, but I couldn't understand why Jason kept selecting $200 clues when the second DD was there. I kept yelling at him to pick that $400 bliblical widows clue. He didn't get FJ, so it doesn't matter. Speaking of that last DD, why did Buzzy bet $2000 when he had a $2800 lead? I didn't understand Jason's FJ wager either. Maybe there's a reason I play from home.

I start a lot of stories with "so." I'd be vilified by this board if I were ever on the show! They should put me on the show since I'd tick lots of boxes: gay, black, female, lefty, military vet, former sports writer, teacher, atheist, grad student, the list goes on. Oh, and I have great stories Alex would quickly ruin with his awkwardness.

Ugh, maybe they can revive Wapner and bring back Animal Court. Seriously, show, enough with the damn dog cases. The other two cases were just folks who want to be on television. Yawn. Wake me up when TPC gets another interesting case. I may be relegated to going back to Judge Judy, who I quit watching a year ago.

Yes; I had zero sympathy for her. Like MM said, she is just full of bad decisions. I'm all for people being assertive and handling things on their own, but if you know nothing about cars, you should probably shop with someone who does. And why in the world did she trade it in to the very dealership that told her it was crap? If it were crap, they wouldn't have bought it from her! When I recently bought my used car... well, actually before I bought my used car, I took it to a local chain that I trust because I used to be their insurance agent, and they give discounts for military, teachers, etc. They told me the two things that it would need to be road-worthy and the other things that it would need down the road but weren't absolute necessities. Since I agreed to let them fix the two things that were pressing (for a whopping total of $110 with my discounts), they waived the inspection fee. I used their report to negotiate down the cost of the car to include the work that needed to be done, which I think anyone with common sense would do. Now, I know next to nothing about cars. However, I know two things: find a shop you can trust, and don't be afraid to get a second opinion. I couldn't get through either of the first two cases because I'm terrible with accents. God bless MM, who I think is incredibly patient when it comes to trying to sort out these convoluted stories spoken in thick accents.

I think I've just come to accept that Austin is the way he is, for the sake of my blood pressure. It was a good game, and I was rooting for Andrew, but I'm fine with the outcome. If I were a betting woman, I'd put my money on Alan, but with good players you can't ever count out anyone. Was there a teen champ in this tournament, or do they not get invited to TOCs? My gets were magnet, The World, Roma Downey, and the missed DD of circumference of the earth. I didn't get FJ but should have. Like others, I need to brush up on my VPs, but I do know Hannibal Hamlin. I just didn't make the connection in time.

S43.E05: Tiffany Haddish / Taylor Swift

I loved this episode and was happy for Tiff, who I first saw on The Carmichael Show. Weekend Update was funny, too. I think the dolphins and kittens sketches were my favorite. -
Hilarious!

Weren't they both people of color? I thought Carter was Latina. This is a case I wish they'd spent more time on instead of more Warren Jeffs crap. I don't have a problem with Megyn Kelly being on Dateline since she does work for NBC now, but the Jeffs story was covered pretty thoroughly, and I'd never heard of the Black Friday story. We had a murder suicide case in AZ this weekend that's sure to end up on at least one of these shows. Scottsdale Shooting This guy shot his wife, three-year old daughter and nine-month old son before killing himself. So freaking sad.

It said Victoria in the clue, which is why I guessed George Cross, even though it sounds awkward.

I was happy for Andrew today but confused by Justin's FJ answer and wager. Why would you make it possessive when the Victoria Cross referenced in the clue is not possessive? Also, $16,000 is a good score in the TOC, so I didn't understand why he felt the need to wager anything at all. I liked him, so I'm frustrated he isn't moving forward. My gets were: Million Dollar Listing, although I've never seen it; Dial M for Murder and Strangers on a Train; Frank Herbert; and Fantastic Voyage. I had FJ correct, but I've never heard of the George Cross. I waffled between Edward and George and settled on George, but it was a coin-flip for me.

This female is fine with your comments, ftr. My gets were prosciutto, orange river, term life, and the Delaware 1787 DD. I did not do as well today as I did all week, and I didn't know fj. I guessed Nebraska because I decided a corn husker was a corn busker. In my defense, today is my Friday, so I hit happy hour before I watched! Happy Veteran's Day in advance to all my fellow vets on the board.

I couldn't agree more. My mom didn't make a big deal about mine, but she did have a lovely chat with me about it. She raised us very tough-loveish, so I still remember that conversation with great fondness. I liked this episode, but I couldn't help but think about how much of my black my mother would have knocked off of me if I'd talked to her the way Diane talked to Rainbow. Seriously, my mama does not play! I'm 45 and still a little afraid of her!

For me, the only time I get them right is when someone has already guessed the other one incorrectly. I guessed Byron this time around, but I have the same problem. Anyone have a tip for telling them apart? I haven't had time to post this week, but I've found the questions to be easier than TOC's I remember from the past. The board-hopping is to be expected because the contestants are really playing to win and up against strong competitors. I have had all three FJs correct this week, and that has never happened to me before during a TOC. I guess it's more fun to play along when you know more of the answers, but I like looking up stuff that's new to me, and I haven't seen a lot of that in this tournament so far. Regarding the contestants, I have been fine with all of them this week, which is surprising to me. I guess I'm pulling for Alan because he ran away with that game yesterday and showed an impressive breadth of knowledge, but I'd be fine with any of the contestants we've seen so far winning the whole thing. I even like Buzzy, who I know is unpopular. I liked him during his initial run, too. I have been watching old episodes of The Chase and am surprised how often something comes up there that I then see on Jeopardy. I got Mozart because I'd just seen a similar question on The Chase.

I didn't get Brando either because I have no interest in him and haven't seen The Godfather or whatever else he's been in. Everyone has things they know and things they don't know, even jeopardy contestants. I can't imagine being appalled by someone not knowing something I know or vice versa. I got twice a day, Vicksburg, statens, Benito Juarez, and I guessed Santiago for FJ after first thinking it was Lima.

Although this particular mother may have been a piece of crap, let's not paint all over 40 full-time students that way, please. I didn't get my bachelor's degree until I was 35 and am now doing my M.Ed full-time. Through it all, I have also worked full-time. I am hardly living off of anyone's dime. There were enough things to dislike about this litigant without automatically assuming she's on the dole when we have no evidence of that. Regarding the check case, while I should be horrified by both of their actions, I am more horrified that a veteran doesn't know what ETS is; I spent almost my entire time in the Army awaiting my ETS, which is Expiration Time of Service. It's the day you get your freedom back, should you choose to accept it.

How about you get out of my head? LOL. That was my thought process, down to considering Adams and realizing that couldn't be correct. I got the same TS's everyone else seemed to get, including club chair. I liked the chair category, but that might be because of a furniture addiction; I like shopping for furniture more than shopping for anything else and do it way more frequently than I should. As my mom says, if you don't like the way teebax's house looks, just wait. I thought Clinton was a bad guess and sensed that Alex was trying to make him feel better because of his condition, which was nice of Alex.

I ordered one at Happy Hour last week, and the bartender had no idea what is was. When I told her, she said, "Why don't you just order a rum and coke with a lime?" Um, because Cuba Libre sounds WAYYYY better? Needless to say, the service was horrible. If they didn't have free wings, I wouldn't return.

Well, Kanye suffers from the same affliction. <snicker>

I teach in a public high school, and a reform school at that, so I was nervous about where they were going with this episode. I definitely see how our schools are leaning toward segregation again; my school is about 98% Latino, and I'm the only black teacher there. Luckily for me, it makes the kids think I'm cool, which would be hilarious is they knew how much of a geek I was in reality. I was glad to see that Junior ended up fitting in at public school. I ran with many crowds in high school: the jocks, the nerds, the outcasts, the theater kids, and the band kids; I enjoyed the fact that no one cared which crowd I hung out with on any given day, and my friends and I could have posed for a Benetton ad. I never went to private school, so I can't comment on it, but I did start my college career at a snooty private college in Pennsylvania, where the majority of my classmates were private school grads. I didn't fit in there at all and ended up transferring to a state school, where I felt much more comfortable.

Where I live, it's on an ABC affiliate, so I rarely have an episode not air on time, which is 4:30. Sometimes Saturday jeopardy gets interrupted by college football, but that's about it. I couldn't play along at 0100, even though my insomnia often has me awake that late, so you have my sympathies.
-
I was rooting for Patrick. Nice eyes. I got soon, succeed, To Sir with Love, yesterday, Cuba Libre and FJ. Kinda uneventful game for me. I've noticed where I live people say "right now" when they mean "soon." It makes me stabby.
-
I've heard of Warren Zevon but had no clue. Shame on me, I guess. I got a bunch of TS's but didn't write them down. FJ was an instaget for me. Was Anand slow-playing at the end? He couldn't have been since he was far ahead, but he took a while choosing those last few clues. I liked Megan and now also want a miniature donkey. They're adorable.

I loved this episode. As a recovering board-thrower myself, I could relate to Dre. I used to be a sore loser and a worst winner, and Monopoly in my family was cutthroat AF. No mercy indeed! Bow will ger her comeuppance with Megan. Don't worry! This show is good about that. I had a white boyfriend in high school, and I would never have showed any affection with him in front of my parents. I'm not saying it's right, but my parents were not thrilled about me dating someone who wasn't black. They grew up in the 50s in the south, so I think their racism was from being treated poorly themselves. They're more evolved now and are fine with my partners, regardless of race. I say all of this to say I can believe Bow was that way with Megan, but I'm sure she'll come around.

Hasn't this incarnation been around for at least a decade?
