If it helps my Eagles finally reach the promised land I'll keep it as my pic forever.

Be more specific. Rachel was a little too precious for me, but I didn't hate her like I have some other contestants. I waw okay with all three of them. Also, I do think Rachel benefitted from questionable judging. My gets were Mary Tyler Moore, gun, Wikileaks, Cuba, amortization, and usury. I'm awful at kiddie lit, so I didn't get FJ. The only kid books I liked growing up were mysteries. Oh well.

You will not see me pick on someone for weight, mental deficiency (which is hard considering some litigants), bad weaves/haircuts, etc. It's not because I'm above that, I just don't enjoy picking on people for things that may be out of their control. I have no such rules for bad teeth. I can't even look at people whose mouths are all jacked up like that guy's mouth was. A third eye would have been less distracting for me. Then they throw it to the outside asshole, and he's interviewing a British woman who fell into the stereotype about British people's teeth. Seriously, her teeth were freaking yellow. Just nasty. (Obviously I know not all Brits have terrible teeth, but it's a stereotype for a reason.) Let's just say it was not a good teeth day on TPC, y'all.

I wasn't really impressed with any of them, but I'm okay with her winning. That ski mobile overturn was head scratching for me. Alex the contestant was channeling Jay Z with his "Can I get a" on every freaking selection, but I think he was really nervous. Lots of gets for me: cayenne, muddy, April thr giraffe, manatee, l'chaim, What's love got to do with it, What's new pussycat, Irish Sea, Itzhak Perlman, the frets DD, and Millennium Dome. I whiffed on FJ.
-
I can't remember anything else about the episode, except thinking they're really doing a good job getting contestants of color, but I'm still waiting for my phone to ring. I also remember getting FJ instantly, but I don't recall how it was worded.

There I go day drinking again. Thanks for the correction!
-
I'm glad Lee won again. Sarah's interview made me chuckle. I thought it was a good game. My gets were tom tom, Indiana, Ramirez, Olde Curiosity Shoppe, Stationer as a guess, the Teamster DD, Mr. Jingles, and final Jeopardy.
-
I did like that case, but I can understand why others didn't. When are we getting new episodes?
-
I couldn't possibly remember it now. Maybe another poster can help? You can also check the J archives. One more tip, there's a Jeopardy feed on Reddit where they post links to the episodes. So if you miss one, try that.

I had the same gets as you, including getting Mellon the same way. I loved Lee's performance and loved his speed. I'll miss Gilbert but I hope Lee sticks around for a while. It's nice to get boards clear!
-
I know, right? I'm sure she feels bad, but the consolation is she wouldn't have won anyway. Congrats to Gilbert on becoming a five-time champion with a big win. That finish was almost as exciting as the Vikings/Saints finish last weekend. Almost. I felt bad for David, who seemed to have it locked up going into FJ. I liked all three contestants and was happy to see boards cleared. My gets were Sookie Stackhouse, Flowers in the Attic, Distinguished Flying Cross, Madoff, This is Us, and FJ, which was an instaget for me.

I thought this was a great episode, but I've loved Sam since The Green Mile, and Three Billboards was my favorite movie of 2017, so I may be biased. I think the lab sketch was my favorite, but I liked all of them. Even the singer, who I've never heard, sounded good. I really liked her first song. She gave me more of a young Pink vibe.
-
I didn't like Tyler. I didn't like his before my time comment when he hit the DD. I didn't like him staring down the other contestants. I didn't like his eyebrows. Okay, the last one is silly, but by then it was bitch eating crackers time. I can't believe two of them missed FJ, although young Tyler was close. I figured that was so easy they'd all have it right. My other gets were eddy, Pink, Bourbon Street (great song and gettable if you know Anne Rice's New Orleans connection), sawgrass, Hinton, and Moonlight.

He ran a college basketball category. I'm the same way. I can answer college basketball trivia all day, but I don't follow the NBA at all. It bores me. I did get Curry but only because he and Steve Kerr are the only Warriors I know.

I really disliked the defendant in the venue case. A new business should be worried about its reputation enough that they don't screw over a potential customer, contract or not. He was still complaining in the hallway, which tells me he learned nothing. I missed the discussion about the car repair. We should really move away from using words like uppity, particularly when describing a black person. I've spent my life being called that because I have the audacity not to know my place. I fail to see why someone who damaged her property and freaking covered it up should be allowed to repair it on their terms. What the actual hell?
-
Cars and one hit wonders? A board made for me. Naturally they tackled both categories at the end. I was screaming at the television. Congrats to Gilbert, although I liked all three contestants. I think Alisha was on tilt at the end. My gets were Astor, Burns and Steinbeck, Tender is the Night, Volkswagen, and The Waitresses. I don't know how but I got Fj immediately.

I'd have to see the wording again, but if they asked about a movie produced by a streaming service instead of distributed by it I'm fine with bringing back the contestant. I wouldn't have known it regardless, but it should've been worded properly I think. I had quite a few gets tonight. I had Sleepy Hollow, Turn of the Screw, brass, creature feature, Nice, Miles Standish, and stereo. Ditto for me. I'd like to see the memes. That was a really bad guess.
-
I thought the new champ was slow selecting as well, and I didn't like the board hopping. Therefore I knew she'd win. Ugh. My gets were Nine West, 10 commandments, Encyclopedia Brown (a childhood favorite of mine), Donald Fagen (I'm a huge Steely Dan fan), Cedar River, the Triton DD, Jesse James, and schnell. I love it when we get German on Jeopardy; it makes me feel less horrible about how terrible my French is. I didn't have a clue on FJ. I should add ancient history to my brush-up list.

Do not buy a new car without gap insurance! Do not buy a new car without gap insurance! Do not buy a new car without gap insurance! No, it's not required, Uncle Fester (thanks Angela), but it damn well should be. Hello, everybody! Happy belated new year!

Where is everyone this evening? Are you still snowed in? I thought it was a solid episode, but I found Jamie a little annoying. I'm surprised third contestant whiffed on FJ, which was an instaget. I think the Missouri part was thrown in specifically to elicit a Truman response. Anyway, my gets were squeaky door, Windows 2.0, heresy, the effigy DD, the elephant DD, and FJ. Congrats to Brandon. His story about his mom touched my cold, dark heart.

I live in Tucson. During monsoon season, we sometimes miss Jeopardy due to rain. Yes, it's that noteworthy when it rains. I'm glad Claudia didn't win. I disliked her right out of the gate with her first response when she felt the need to tell us she was from Minnesota, which we'd just heard in the intro. Brandon reminds me of Michael Wilbon from Pardon the Interruption. He's lucky he won with that ill-advised wager. I got Guardians of the Galaxy, minimalism, Flaubert, and FJ as an instaget.
-
Agreed that I was surprised by that one. I just had a conversation with my girlfriend last week about the 27 club, and she'd never heard of it. She happened to be watching Jeopardy with me last night (she doesn't normally) and when the clue came up, she was excited that she knew the answer. I guess that means she does listen to me, which came as a surprise, truth be told. Coolio is right about the -er versus -a thing, which is more important when it comes to a certain word I do not use at all. We have a problem at the alternative high school where I teach with students using the "N" word a lot, and that's always their argument when they get caught doing it. I tell them, "If the only black teacher here is telling you it's not okay; it's not freaking okay. Stop it." But I digress... My gets were area (which, I agree, was worded so horribly I almost didn't get it), vegan, and 27. I got FJ but only because of Bugs Bunny. I need to expand my art, ballet, classical music, and opera knowledge bases before I can even dream of competing on Jeopardy some day.

There's a guy on Reddit who posts episodes every day. Just Google reddit Jeopardy and it should come up.

Yes, I know the name of the song and what I heard. I know you disagree with me. I'm stating my opinion. It was ridiculously petty, and the iambic pentameter one was way worse. The judging has been awfully inconsistent for a while. Anyway, today's game drove me nuts. It went way too slowly, and neither board got cleared. I like Sara Lee, but her story sounded like a nightmare to me. I am a very cranky passenger, and it made me think of a horrific Southwest flight I took years ago that ended up being some sort of party plane. Dude, I'm flying the Greyhound of the sky. At least let me freaking sleep. My gets were Ray of Light, assistance, and Tanzania. FJ was an instaget. Not sure why Nick gasped if they were looking for English writers and he selected Edith Wharton. Here's what I think is interesting: she was born Edith Jones into the family after whom the expression "keeping up with the Joneses" comes.

The "Gangsta's Paradise" ruling was ridiculous, imo. That would be like punishing a contestant for having an accent. That judge would hate me with my Philly one, I'm sure! I got lizard, pig, the missed DD of MIT, and guru. I also got FJ. Congrats to the new champ, and happy new year to you all.
