  1. Yeah, I’m familiar given my job. It was more who in particular he unfollowed for me. It wasn’t everyone, but his unfollowing included his two leading ladies. Sprina, with ample encouragement from him, fed his Patreon well. It just felt icky to me.
  2. The “unnamed sources” at this point are something. I had a feeling I would not see Chavez return back in December, and not because of the mostly wrong except gone board scuttlebutt I posted in the spoilers thread. It was something in his performance. The gloating and duhs toward other fans from some of his supporters and detractors online are too bad. He had a contract so no one is foolish for thinking and hoping he would finish it. Coming back for a short stint didn’t make sense. I get that… I think a lot of people do. I think the show could have handled this better and he could have too. The unfollowing on IG was tacky and a bad look. Chavez’s Spencer and Sprina 2.0 are so, so popular. Recasting is a tough proposition and I personally would give it a lot of time. You don’t want to ruin it for people throwing someone in there and I always remember how JJ’s return was mucked up by the recasts tenures and stories.
  3. Chris Van Etten, fired head writer, remains on staff per Alley Mills, who said he pitched the cobalt hip. It seems none of the podcasters or X insiders had or could share this information. Always treat any tea being served to you by anybody with a healthy spoonful of skepticism.
  4. My DVR decided to take the day off so luckily it’s a work from home day and I noticed when I came out of the kitchen with lunch. I would have been very unhappy to miss the Nina and Ava scenes. CW and MW were both outstanding. Nina may be a woman on the verge, but she’s also a Fifth Avenue lady to her core. Nina handing off the signed divorce papers and dictating the return of her rings in the post were both great. Sonny is no prize and Morgan should render it a nonstarter so I do hope Ava is just playing unmedicated Sonny. Ava’s friendship with Nina never made sense and the acknowledgement on Nina’s part was welcome so it certainly doesn’t hurt Ava to lose it. What would hurt Ava is to lose Trina’s, I think, and the more she reverts to her old ways, the more that becomes a real possibility. I would have been sorry to miss the rest of the episode too, so I give PM and EK my compliments. I don’t give a flying flip about the overblown Blazer and Chaste wedding, but maybe some minimums are burning in the process.
  5. Did I hear TJ right that he expects Kristina just to go away when the child is born? In family surrogates, especially a bio mother of the child sister/sister-in-law, is going to be around. I can see multiple ways this can go and I see TJ and Molly potentially imploding as the relationship feels immature in spite of its longevity. Esme’s, Heather’s, and Cyrus’ victims (you know, like your daughter, Laura), deserve justice too. Caping for killers who hurt your children and grandchildren is crazy. It’s terrible, but I so wish they would erase Ace. He was a sex criminal’s method of manipulation. There is no way to perfume your mother killed your brother who sang you to sleep the first year of your life.
  6. I read Shannon's posts as acknowledging and confirming the problem exists from her own first-person experience working on the show, while placing the blame for the problem elsewhere/not on actors.
  7. An important follow-up from Peace… Peace continued… I am really glad for these added comments and I am glad Shannon spoke up period.
  8. Shannon Peace, formerly of the GH writing team…
  9. Michael and Willow have zero spark and are just repugnant. They honestly deserve each other. We also desperately need a new Michael with some screen presence. (I made it a point not to dine at a restaurant a man I once knew owned.) Get takeaway salad and chocolate soufflé or go somewhere else.
  10. I popped on X to see what awaited me when I get home and... Drew and Nina. Good grief. CM seemed to jump the gun posting about it. It did get people going though, that's for sure. ;-) I am wary of podcaster and "connected fan" chatter. I don't doubt they know people who for their own reasons share things they feel they can safely share without repercussions, but when GH wants to hide things, they do, and some of what is shared, especially by fans around exits, isn't helpful to anyone.
  11. Hudson West really does need to be on contract if he will sign one. He can anchor the teen scene. Welcome back, PM. This show was so lucky to hang onto Becky when the other Musketeers did what the young do all those years ago.
  12. How to be an alum… Sometimes we want to be asked a question so we can say no. I know I have in the past. I got that sense from the Nicolas Bechtel posts. Glad to see him headed off to college after his own time with Murphy.
  13. NDAs And, yes no one is immune from being harassed. I meant in terms of the need to book gigs being less urgent for nepo babies and Russian royalty. And some of these people are truly dangerous re: why people stay quiet.
  14. Recalling now an interview I read during the ‘90s heyday of the Brenda/Sonny/Jax triangle. GH producer or writer, cannot recall which, said you try to please most of the fans, but you cannot please them all, referencing the decision to put Brenda with Sonny at that point. I was a Jax fan then so I fell in the all part. Frank’s a stubborn man, that is for sure. I also think some of what he does is for practical reasons. Where’s Easton going to go willingly? Or Duell? Changing up the canvas is risky because as we have seen with many over the years those with other prospects very often head for the exit… You can’t build around people who will bounce or be gone for significant amounts of time. Not criticizing the actors who do it by way as it’s their careers and ambitions, but it does give the show problems. It just is what it is. What I think Frank should do is find more Harringtons, who I do like as Jagger ;-) for roles like Michael. Actors of a certain age with prime time abilities who didn’t get lucky or lucky enough in the gotta get it years.
  15. They really are. If the DM can be believed here as they alternate between an utterly tasteless rag and a publicist’s cutting garden, Robyn was a paranoid schizophrenic. Underlying severe mental health problems and addiction are a toxic combo. They would be for many regardless of occupation. Hollywood is a rough place so I also believe she was abused there as those quoted say. Lots of bad people in powerful positions and an acting career necessitates the ability to handle chasing the next check/gig unless you are a nepo baby, Galitzine, or Emma Stone level actor (who seems like an actually cool person), abundant rejection, and breathtaking cruelty for the sake of it. RIP, Robyn.
  16. Laura is a survivor, no doubt. She saw GL was going down and hightailed it out of there. As much as MB and SB have, she’s built a nice life in Daytime and I don’t see any regret or what might have been in her performances, I give her that… Staying is a choice. How you feel about it is on you and letting us see it in your performances is too. Over four soaps she saw many come and go and have things not turn out the way they wanted and as the late Jeanne Cooper noted, they don’t always take you back. She’s unapologetically all about GH and it’s her world, not just Carly’s, I strongly suspect. ;-) She may be Frank’s eternal employee of the month, but I think Laura needs to stay out of the way of progress in the same way MB and SB do.
  17. “It’s perfect. It’s home. It’s safety.” Good grief, Laura. ;-) Cheers to MVJ!
  18. MB seems to have a lot of passion for his podcast and SB is no fool. And, honestly, if it’s just about the checks mixed with limited or no options elsewhere, then MB and SB should let the show do what it needs to for it to survive, for however long it has remaining and maybe even somehow experience a renaissance by shifting the focus. Actors who make their livings acting are fortunate and the industry is facing a lot of challenges coming off the dual strikes, IATSE maybe striking in summer, consolidations, et cetera. Daytime may not have been the dream they had but it’s made those men nice lives. I will hope they see all the other people involved and don’t get in the way.
  19. Me too. I also think the show needs Mo/Sonny to take on a different role however much Mo might carry on and resist it. I know Mo’s been the guy for a long time and he stayed when others wouldn’t or couldn’t. Adam Harrington is a great get from prime time.
  20. I replayed that line when I watched the episode. Maybe three times… ;-)
  21. I’m not expecting miracles, but will welcome additional improvement over what I already see peeking through… I hated Carly in the ‘90s (the last time I was a regular viewer until now), but I could never take my eyes off of Sarah Brown. She had such talent. She had her troubles over the years and I hope she is in a good place now. And, yes, Frank isn’t good to everybody. The situation that occurred with Vinessa Antoine (the former Jordan) is really, really unfortunate I think in light of the extended LOAs plural and flexible arrangements I have observed for male actors on the program. Alley Mills praise of Frank in her Daytime Emmy speech has stayed with me too. You do not want that man as an enemy. Of that I feel confident.
  22. NLG did. In a very recent interview with SOD. Also said positive things are happening.
  23. Without that, what sex we see is just simulated sex, i.e. Jex. The couples I remember from my youth made me feel as if I was intruding because of the level of intimacy that informed the scenes. The Sprina N.Y. scenes the scabs wrote were a lovely callback, I thought. We all know Easton and Setton are both friends of Frank dating back to at least OLTL, and the one thing I really do appreciate about Frank is that he tries to take care of people that he cares for in a very unkind industry. However, I think something needs to give especially as the show is reset and will if Patrick Mulcahey is a decision maker like NLG said he is. It will be interesting to watch from out here. While BTS stuff can be entertaining, I often lack the stomach for just what we find out about…
